Clint- Shift's Over Part 2

As soon as the call ended, there was a lot of moving about. Peter tied your wrists together with cable ties, which was far from comfortable.

Alec and another man were sent out in the van, each carrying a gun. They also had a third which you recognised as the one Peter had paralysed you with before.

Oh great.

Dylan was on the phone for a large amount of the time spent waiting for the van to get back and Peter sat in front of you, talking to you in an oddly friendly way.

"You know, you giving me that coffee cup made this a whole lot easier for you." He smiled and you stared solemnly back at him.
"I was able to confirm it was Clint Barton's number and that you were affiliated with him." He took a sip of his now not-so-hot chocolate.

"He just asked me for a drink. What if he doesn't turn up?" You asked, dreading the answer.

Peter smiled, setting down his cup. "Then you and I will be the stars of a nice little video featuring a few of your lovely screams."

You stared at him, hoping you'd misheard.

"Oh- I- No- I meant like a hostage video... not... not what you're thinking." He said, quite flustered.

You couldn't help but smile slightly but it was short lived. The doors burst open and Alec and the other man stormed over to Dylan, who ended his call.

"He didn't show up." Alec cast a glance at you. "Guess he doesn't like her as much as we thought."

You felt your stomach drop. No.

Dylan stood up without a word and strode over to you, crouching down to your level.

"Well. That is such a pity." He flicked a strand of hair from your face with a long slender finger.

You flinched, trying to meet his eyes and seem braver than you were.

Suddenly the doors burst open again and no other than the man you thought had abandoned you walked through the doors.

Dylan flashed you a sinister smile before turning to face him. "Ah, Mr Barton. We've been-"
He broke off, stumbling backwards and crumpling to the floor beside you with an arrow sticking out of his chest.

You looked up to see Clint, bow drawn. He met your eyes for a second before shooting Alec then the other man before they too crumpled to the floor.

Clint aimed at Peter, who raised his hands "Oh I surrender, Sir."
Clint ignored him and he too fell, spilling his hot chocolate on the floor beside you.

"(Y/n)." Clint said, running over to you.
You tried to stand, but you found your legs still too wobbly.

"It's okay. I've got you." He scooped you in his arms, and you looked around at the scattered men, your eyes lingering on Peter.

"Are they dead?" You asked.

"Huh? Oh. No. They're just unconscious. I have this arrow head it paralyses the legs then makes the victim-"

"Maybe not the best time right now." Said a voice from the doorway. Clint turned and you saw no other than Natasha Romanoff.

"Uh. Yeah. I'll tell you later, (y/n)." He said, looking slightly embarassed.

He carried you to the car he brought and Natasha waited at the building for the SHIELD team to show up.

He took you home to your apartment, and by then you'd regained the use of your legs.

You exited the car by yourself.

"Thanks for saving me... again." You said, smiling.

He nodded, "No problem. We'll have to get that drink later."

You nodded and you two stood in silence for a few seconds on your doorstep before you both found yourselves leaning in.

He kissed your lips gently, just a simple kiss but it felt so magical.

Suddenly he pulled back, "(y/n), I'm sorry. I really like you but I don't want to put you in any more danger. I can't see you anymore."

You stared at him in disbelief.
"You just kissed me."

"I did." He said, blushing slightly.

"And then you say that. I'm sorry but I can't accept that." You quickly opened your door and slipped inside, shutting it a bit too loudly behind you. You couldn't believe him.
