Huh so that's the hybrid's soul but what does a white human soul represent. Maybe it represents that they have magic like monsters and that's why they're a hybrid. Is the machine's main purpose to create this hybrid? Or is it something different? Well we know that the machine is probably related to the hybrid. We might be able to use their soul to break the Barrier. At the same time, if the machine is the DT extractor, then the hybrid might be used for experiments but Ross said that he doesn't to hurt anyone... unless he doesn't see the hybrid as something that can feel pain, that has it's own life, that its nothing more than one of his experiments for the greater good.

Dr. Ross: I'm not heartless. I fully intend on treating them very humanely. (knocks over his coffee) fUCK! And yes, I intend on using the Determination Extractor. And about the white soul — it does mean they can use magic like a monster.

I forgot to read the "Denial" chapter but it seems as if the DT extractor is the machine we're looking for. What I've gathered as extra evidence is what Ross has to gain from this. It seems as if Ross is going to continue Alphys' DT experiments but with his own twist and if that's the case, then it would seem likely that he is going to test the DT of the hybrid on monsters or maybe test human DT on the hybrid. If his experiments go according to plan, then he could make monsters stronger... but if he fails, we'll just have more amalgamates.

Dr. Ross: Oh trust me. Hopefully the human part in these hybrids will make them incapable of becoming amalgamates. But the results if I fail... are much more drastic than simple amalgamates. It will effect this very timeline as we know it. Let's just say... (chuckles a bit sadly) if I happen to trip up during my repairs, history will repeat itself.
