10.
I remember a time when life was easy.
When we were young and didn't have to worry about anything.
When we could go about our business without caring what other people think.
When we could go out and play and hang out without being judged.
When we could love whoever we wanted and not be ridiculed.
When we could eat whatever we want.
Go wherever we wanted.
Be whoever we wished.
Let our imagination run as wild as we wanted.
All just a matter of how much effort we put into it.
But with today's views on how society should be, breaking down on our livelihood and our creativity until they are just a mere speck in the back of our minds, our future kin will never know this freedom.
How it felt to have the sun kiss your skin and make you glow for the whole week instead of the greenhouse gases that closet the real glow we should have.
How it felt to eat a whole tub of your favorite ice cream and not be called 'fat' or 'pig'.
How it felt to drive with the hood down, wind against your hair, sun shining in your face, without the public shunning you for not wearing your seat belt or having your feet on the dashboard.
How it felt to rock out to your favorite music and not have it labelled as too demonic or inappropriate.
How it felt to be who you are and not care about what everyone thought of you. When what was on the inside truly mattered and appearances didn't.
When love was actually love and not the hormonal shit kids and teenagers call it these days.
I'm not that young.
I'm not that old.
But I have enough knowledge to know what was and is better.
To be honest I wish I were a 90s kid, or at least somewhere before the 2000 despite all the history landmarks made.
When life was easier.
Times were better.
People were nicer.
But alas I'm stuck in this time, but I don't fret for my sake, I don't complain for only me. I mostly do for the future.
What will happen when the world goes on as it should in the next 50+ years?
Will we be in the futuristic age where cars fly, where our windows have views of the constellations, where our society be expanded and populations increased by that of friendly extraterrestrials?
Or will our lakes run dry, our buildings collapsed, our people dieing off from disease, isolating ourselves even more, creating yet another barrier or wall that obstructs us from developing what we can achieve?
What we were born to achieve.
My words alone may not matter to you now or ever, but know that I speak the truth, it's only a matter of time before one of these scenarios happen.
Hell, even something other than what I've mentioned can happen, but all we can do is hope it's something good or extraordinary.
The hard part is waiting.
