Chapter 5: The Death of Spider-Man
Y/N's P.O.V
I jump behind cover to and look back to see Spider-Man get thrown into a container.
(A/N: This is his suit, just for anyone who's forgotten.)
Spider-Man: Norman, listen to me.
Y/N: Spider-Man? No way.
Spider-Man: I can't let you open a portal to another dimension. Brooklyn isn't zoned for that.
Green Goblin: It's not up to me. Why won't you quit?
Spider-Man: I guess I like Brooklyn not being sucked into a black hole.
He swings around and attacks Goblin.
Spider-Man: Staten Island, maybe. Not Brooklyn.
Y/N: Man, I gotta go.
Just then part of a crane flies towards me.
I quickly jump up and land on it.
Green Goblin grabs it lifts me up.
Y/N: No, no!
As the two continue fighting I manage to drop down onto the ground.
I run as they fight around me and I end up stopping at a ledge.
I look out to see it's a collider room of some sort.
Y/N: Whoa. What is this place?
Just then I get knocked over the edge and fall down.
Y/N: Ahhh!!!!
I manage to stick to the side to stop myself.
I try to pull myself up, but I slip and fall down.
Just then I get caught by Spider-Man and he swings up before landing down on a construction platform.
He sets me down and looks to my shoes.
Spider-Man: You know your shoelaces aren't tied, right?
I look down at my shoes before looking back to him.
Y/N: Yeah.
Spider-Man: This is a onesie, so I don't really have that problem.
Just then his sense goes off and so does mine.
It's like they're bouncing off each other.
(A/N: Just imagine it's Y/N and Spider-Man in the suit above.)
Spider-Man: I thought I was the only one. You're like me.
Y/N: I... I don't wanna be.
Spider-Man: I don't think you have much of a choice, buddy. I know you've got alot going through head, I've been there.
Y/N: Yeah.
Spider-Man: Don't worry, you're gonna be fine. I can help you. If you stick around, I can show you the ropes.
Y/N: Okay.
We then feel everything rumble.
Spider-Man: I just need to destroy this big machine real quick before the space-time continuum collapses. Don't move.
He jumps onto the ledge before looking back to me.
Spider-Man: See ya in a bit.
He web zips away and make his way up to the roof of the room.
Y/N: Whoa.
Just then he's attacked by a guy in purple.
They fight for a few minutes, but then Spider-Man is pinned down by Green Goblin.
Y/N: I should go up there and help him. Wait, that's a terrible idea.
After that hear a voice come over the intercom.
I hear Spider-Man call him Kingpin.
He activates the machine and two beams come out of it.
Spider-Man breaks free and tries to stop it, but there's an explosion.
After the smoke clears I go down and find Spider-Man.
I run over to him and see he's trapped.
Y/N: Hey, are you okay?
Spider-Man: Yeah, I'm fine. I'm good. Just resting.
Y/N: Can you get up?
Spider-Man: Oh, yeah. I always get up.
He coughs.
Spider-Man: The coughing's probably not a good sign.
We then hear the bag guys coming.
Spider-Man: Okay, we don't have much time. We've gotta work together.
He hands me a drive.
Spider-Man: The override key is the only way to stop the collider. Swing up there, use the key, push the button and blow it up. You need to hide your face. You don't anyone who you are. No-one can know. He's got everyone in his pocket.
Y/N: But...
Spider-Man: If he turns the machine on again, everything you know and love will disappear. Promise you'll do this.
Y/N: I will. I promise.
He nods.
Spider-Man: Good. Thank you. Now, go. Destroy the collider. I'll come and find you when it's over.
I nod and run off.
I climb up and look down to see Kingpin talking to Spider-Man.
As they talk Kingpin gets angry and crushes Spider-Man, killing him.
Kingpin: Get rid of the body.
I try to move, but they spot me.
Y/N: Shit.
I run away as the guy in purple comes after me.
(One hour later)
I make it back home and climb through my bedroom window.
I land on the floor.
I managed to get away from Kingpin's guy.
Just then I hear footsteps.
The door bursts open and dad rushes in.
Daniel: Police. Put your hands up!
He sees that it's me.
Daniel: Y/N? Y/N? What you doing here?
I run over to him and hug him.
Daniel: Whoa, whoa. It's okay. It's okay.
I see mum come in.
Laurel: Y/N, what's wrong, baby?
I pull away.
Laurel: Was it the earthquake?
I nod.
Y/N: I was just worried about you guys. Can I stay here tonight?
Daniel: Now, Y/N, you made a commitment to that school. You can't...
Laurel: Daniel, look at him. He's clearly freaked out.
Dad sighs.
Daniel: Okay. Yeah, you can stay, son.
Y/N: Thanks.
I sit down on my bed.
After that dad leaves the room and I lay down.
Mum sits on my bed.
Laurel: What's wrong, sweetie?
Y/N: Mum, when grandpa was alive and a cop, were you ever scared that he wouldn't come home?
Laurel: Yeah, I was.
Y/N: Did you ever stop being scared?
Laurel: No, not really, but it's okay. Being scared is okay. Your grandpa always used to say, "Being scared is okay, as long as you don't stop let it stop you from doing what's right." Your grandfather was one of the strongest men I've ever known.
Y/N: I don't know if I'm that strong, mum.
Laurel: You're strong, baby. Our family doesn't run from things. Ever. One day you'll realise how strong you truly are.
She kisses my forehead.
Laurel: Goodnight, baby boy.
Y/N: Night, mum.
Mum gets up and leaves the room.
I then roll over in bed and wipe tears away.
Spider-Man's dead and it's my fault.
