All Seonghwa could hear was the roar of engines as he zipped down the road with his team. They could be heard from miles away, but at this point none of them cared. Even as they lost the light from the sun and darkness took over.
His father had to know that they were coming by now. His spies were all over the city.
But at least they had the element of some surprise. There was no way he would be expecting them to attack so quickly after Yunho and San had been injured.
They rounded one final corner and Seonghwa saw the turn off leading to the Pack's complex. There was a long stretch of road they needed to make it down and the main entrance would be right in front of them.
The one thing they had working toward them was the fact that his father didn't feel the need to have a lot of outside security. There were cameras, sure, and a few men with guns, but no elaborate gate to keep others out.
Next to him, Wooyoung sped up a little to fall in line.
The first step would begin soon.
Trees whipped past them at lightning speed, creating a wall of impenetrable black on either side. Soft, amber lights acted as their beacon, calling them to either their victory... or their death.
The second they were past the trees, Seonghwa opened up the throttle and sped forward. Wooyoung mirrored him and the pair broke away from the others.
It was all a ploy to draw attention from Pack members out in the open, but they were also the ones designated to get the front doors open.
Shouts came from around them, but they were ignored.
"Wooyoung, now!" Seonghwa said. He gripped his bike with his knees to keep his balance. Wooyoung moved directly next to him and reached over to grab the right handle of his bike, keeping control of the throttle.
"Got it." Wooyoung said through gritted teeth. This was going to be a tricky few minutes for him, but it was essential that he kept his balance, otherwise he risked killing both him and Seonghwa.
The older took a deep breath, then let go of his own bike so he could sit up straight. He pulled his sniper rifle from his back, then tucked it into his shoulder. Yeosang had helped modify it into a more specialized gun. It was already loaded with the clip he needed, so he lined up the shot, without using the scope, and angled himself to the left to fire of three quick rounds into the three separate garages.
Each one erupted in a column of flames.
Seonghwa smirked. Yeosang's explosive rounds had worked perfectly.
A few screams came from inside one of the garages, and for a second, Seonghwa felt horrible for doing this to them. This used to be the place he called home, they used to be the people he called family.
But things were different now.
Mingi had opened his eyes to how he had been trapped here. He had spent one night dwelling on all the awful things he had done for his father. All the deaths, all the violence... and he had enjoyed some of it. He had liked the power he had within the Pack.
Seonghwa knew he would spend the rest of his life trying to cope with the evil he had let himself be influenced by.
Tonight was a start.
The next shot was the front doors. Seonghwa swiveled easily and fired another round at the main door, which also exploded in a wave of fire.
"Alright, we are in." Wooyoung said while returning to fully control his own bike.
"Stay close." Seonghwa sped ahead a little to take the lead.
Yeosang's voice came the earpiece next saying, "Clearing in two." Several drones flew down in front of the fire and tilted so that they could blow air at the flames, pushing them to the side so Seonghwa and the others could drive straight through them.
He led them off to the left, down a long cement tunnel that would wind its way around the outside of each floor. It was used for large trucks to transport gear from the lower floors. Once they reached their destination, they would have to leave the bikes behind.
But for now, they could reap havoc upon anyone who crossed them.
Gunfire came from behind him, and Seonghwa glanced in the mirror on his bike to see Mingi angling a shot behind him at some Pack members who were running after them.
"Careful, they are coming out the sides." Hongjoong warned.
And he was right. Several alarms were blaring around them now, alerting anyone inside the underground base that there were intruders. "Yeosang, can you-" Seonghwa started to say.
"Already on it." The hacker answered. He was doing so good at keeping one step ahead of what needed to happen, all from the back seat of Yunho's car. "Killing cameras... now."
It wouldn't do much for them, but any little bit helped.
"Hwa!" Wooyoung shouted suddenly. It was enough of a heads up for Seonghwa to look to the side and whip out a handgun to fire three bullets into a man who stepped out from around a corner to fire at him. He ducked to the side and his bike swerved.
"Thanks." Seonghwa exhaled sharply, focusing on keeping himself balanced.
A large number '2' passed by them on the wall giving them an indication as to where they were on the base.
"They are coming behind us!" San shouted. He stood through the sun roof on the Illusion and turned around to start firing behind the car.
Several trucks that had managed to survive the explosions were chasing after them now, all loaded to the brink with men and guns.
The gentle curve of the tunnel wasn't enough to shield them from any kind of gunfire. They were too open here.
This wasn't supposed to happen...
"Seonghwa, I have an idea." Wooyoung looked over at him and moved his bike closer. "Everyone get ready to move!"
"What are you doing?" Mingi yelled.
"Trust me." Wooyoung looked over his shoulder before standing up on his bike.
Seonghwa felt his adrenaline kick into over time while watching Wooyoung. The younger swung one leg over so that he was closer to Seonghwa. His motorcycle swiveled dangerously under the uneven weight, making Seonghwa hold out an arm automatically to catch him.
Bullets ricocheted off the walls every few seconds and more pack members appeared every minute.
"There are too many of them! Where did they all come from?!" Hongjoong swore while gunning down anyone trying to get in front of Wooyoung and Seonghwa.
The eldest barely heard it though. All he could focus on was Wooyoung. The visors on their helmets were dark enough that he couldn't see Wooyoung's face, but he knew they were looking directly at each other.
With one quick nod from Seonghwa, Wooyoung jumped over to the older's bike and twisted his body so that they were chest to chest while ripping his helmet off at the same time. He slotted his head on Seonghwa's shoulder and wiggled in place a little so he could hook his legs over Seonghwa's thighs.
His motorcycle kept moving forward for about a minute or so before it started to wobble, then collapse on it's side in a shower of sparks and flying pieces.
Mingi and Hongjoong dodged it easily. Yunho had to swerve to get out of the way in time, which caused San to fall forward and bend in half over the top of the car.
"Are you crazy?!" The driver shouted.
"Yes." Wooyoung said simply. Seonghwa could feel him smirking and he looked in his mirrors just in time to see the motorcycle collide with one of the Pack trucks.
The collision was followed by screeching tires and the sound of crunching metal. The truck itself had tipped onto it's side, blocking the tunnel. It was music to Seonghwa's ears.
Hongjoong cheered and threw his fist in the air. "Yes! That should slow them down for a bit!"
"Don't get too excited, there are sure to be more below us." San groaned.
"Are you ok, Sannie?" Yunho asked quickly.
"Yeah, I'm fine. Just had the wind knocked out of me."
"Stay focused." Seonghwa lifted an arm up to wrap it around Wooyoung, pulling him closer. "Sangie, you've got the explosives ready?"
"Yes, all they need to do is be placed and then I can detonate them." The hacker's voice shook as he spoke, giving away how worried he was.
"Alright, you guys get ready to break off. We will go find my father." Seonghwa's voice was grave. Wooyoung hugged him tighter.
They drove for another few minutes before Wooyoung swore and pulled a couple of handguns out of Seonghwa's holsters. "More incoming!"
Several doors slammed open and more Pack members flooded the tunnel, all carrying larger and more powerful guns. The men in front immediately started firing when they were able to get into a good position.
Clinks and clangs came from the bullets hitting the Illusion. Thankfully Hongjoong had made sure it was bulletproof so Yunho didn't need to worry, especially once San was safely back inside.
Mingi, Hongjoong, and Seonghwa, however, started weaving back and forth to try and dodge the gunfire as best they could.
Wooyoung yelled and started firing back at them. Shot after shot after shot, all in quick succession, killing whoever he could with a bullet to the head or neck.
"We need to collapse the tunnel, it's the only way to stop them!" Mingi shouted, then gasped when he came precariously close to dragging his bike down to the ground.
Several of Yeosang's drones started flying around their heads, making scans of the infrastructure. "I've got it. Seonghwa, there's a weak point up ahead where one of the beams is corroding."
Without another word, Wooyoung peeled himself away from Seonghwa and flipped around on the motorcycle, bending himself in half and pulling his legs around one by one. Then in one smooth transition, he took control of the steering so that Seonghwa could pull out his sniper once more.
He had never shot from the back of a motorcycle before, let alone traveling at these speeds. It was hard for him to get comfortable, and he ended up having to use Wooyoung's shoulder to try and balance himself out and steady the gun.
"I'm so sorry." He said, knowing that the shot was going to be incredibly loud and could possibly damage Wooyoung's hearing. He didn't know what else to do though, there was no way he was going to make the shot with pinpoint accuracy without some kind of anchor.
"Just do it!" Wooyoung tensed up and kept all his muscles as stiff and immobile as possible.
Seonghwa looked up and located the spot Yeosang was talking about. One of the drones was hovering directly below it.
"Everyone speed up." He ordered, then cocked the gun.
Then two powerful bursts of pain blasted across his back and Seonghwa cried out in pain. He was forced forward a little, which caused Wooyoung to jerk the handles.
"Hwa!" Wooyoung's cry was strangled and he looked over his shoulder.
"I'm... fine." Seonghwa answered through gritted teeth. He knew he had been shot twice and he had to hand it to his father's genius mind. The suit saved his life, but that didn't stop it from hurting any less. "K-Keep going."
The younger did as he was asked, as he always did. Seonghwa sucked in a breath and lined up the shot once more.
Pulling the trigger was oh so easy, such a smooth and easy motion. The explosive bullet slammed into the ceiling and went off immediately.
Cement and metal beams crumbled and broke apart, groaning while they started to pour from the ceiling.
Wooyoung drove them under just in time.
Dust filled the air behind them. The ground continued to shake.
"It's collapsed. You're in the clear for now. They will be forced to use the hallways to get to us now." Yeosang confirmed for them. "Let's pull off ahead. Then we can split up."
"STOP!" Mingi yelled.
Everyone either pulled or slammed on their breaks, filling the area with the sound of squeezing tires and the pungent smell of burning rubber.
Seonghwa grabbed onto Wooyoung so he didn't fall off the bike, but what he was in front of him nearly made him collapse anyway.
In front of the entrance to the fourth level was a group of Pack members, all armed and ready to fight. That wasn't the biggest problem, though.
No...
The biggest problem was who was in front, holding a shot gun and wearing a suit that matched his and Wooyoung's...
Jongho.
