Chapter 3- The Interrogations Continue

I scan my hand and walk into the room, surprised to see the next young boy biting himself. I'm not sure what do say, so I express the human emotion; confusion.

"Umm..." He looks up, his eyes glowing.

"I'm alive! I can FEEL!" He must have landed on his head. I scan him. No physical injuries, other than his arm, which still has teeth marks in it. His brain also seems undamaged, his heartbeat is normal. He too has an umbrella tattoo on his left wrist. He has no documents in the system, similar to the other one. This case is not going to be as easy as I thought. The boy looks up, eyes still gleaming. "You can see me, right? I'm not having some weird dream, right?"

"No, this is real."

"YES!" My programming isn't built to understand any of this.

"Look. I need any information you can give me."

"Why should I talk? Who are you anyway?"

"My name is Connor. I'm the android sent by Cyberlife."

"Android? Like mom?" So either this boy shares a mother with the other boy or it is common on his earth to have android mothers. I must find out more.

"Not exactly, I'm sure. I'm pretty advanced."

"Well, so was she. Dad built her, after all." So he has a father. I'm getting somewhere. I'm not sure where, but it is somewhere.

"Your dad sounds like Kamski."

"Who?" So he doesn't know of the most famous person on this earth. That just furthers the evidence that they truly are from a different world.

"Is the other boy your brother?"

"I don't know who "the other boy" is, but I'm assuming he's one of my brothers, yes."

"How many siblings do you have?"

"Four brothers, two sisters." A total of seven children. We brought in seven, two girls, five boys. They must all be siblings.

"Thank you for your cooperation." I walk out of the room, knowing that I shouldn't ask too many questions in one go.

Two down, five to go. Though one girl is unconscious, so I won't be able to question her. I walk into yet another room, immediately making eye contact with a very angry boy. He's tall for his age, his short blonde hair is ruffled, and his clothes scrapped from the impact. Yet he has no injuries and his heartbeat is normal. An umbrella tattoo sits on his left wrist, the same place as the other two. His eyes may pierce into my non-existent soul, but he's not very threatening. That being said, I don't think this one will talk.

"Hello. My name is Connor. I'm the android sent by Cyberlife." He doesn't move at all. He just sits, fiddling with his handcuffs. Maybe he wants out of them? "I'm sorry, but we cannot let you or your siblings go until you answer some questions." His gaze doesn't move. If he wasn't 13 a human may actually feel threatened. "Can you answer some questions, please?" He doesn't budge. "I'm sorry to hear about your mother." Still nothing. It's not in my programming to give up, but I don't know enough about these kids to get anything out of him. I'll have to move to the next.

I leave the room, running into Hank on the way out.

"Anything?"

"No. These kids aren't giving much away."

"What have you learned?"

"Only that they have no injuries, their mom is an android, and their father built their mother."

"That's not weird at all."

"What are you talking about? This whole thing is weird."

"Connor, I was being sarcastic."

"Oh. I apologize, sarcasm is difficult for my programming to pick up."

"Yeah, I know. How many suspects do you have left?"

"I've talked to three now. I only have three more that I'll be able to question."

"Right. You should get back to that then."

"Yes, Lieutenant."
