{Chapter 23}

{Previously: Maybe setting him free won't be so bad, maybe I could help convert him or something like that.

'HUFF, I don't need your praise."

Or not.

I chuckle a little before closing my eyes and drifting off into sweet slumber.}

I'm sitting in a room, to my surprise it was bright in said room despite there being no light, it was almost like the time I drank a night vision potion when I ran out of torches while mining.

Only there were no indications that I had drank a potion of any sort. So this was more natural it seems.

I stand up and look around, I learn that it's the same room I remained in before falling asleep.

Confused, I sneak to the closed off and slightly barricaded door and attempt to listen through, but instead I fell right through the door.

I Yelp as I fell through and looked back at the door with a freaked out expression.

"What the hell!?"

I shout but instantly covered my mouth worried about the Warden still Roaming around..

But there was nothing. No loud stomping or roaring moans and groans. Just Silence. Aside from the occasional echoing sound of mobs gurgling and what not.

My mind began to race.

"Am I dead??? Don't tell me I died in my sleep.."

I grumbled the last part, I really did not want to die in some... simple and plain way.

'Are you awake?'

I hear a voice call out, it was from inside the room I was once in.

Poking my head through I see Herobrine crouched down, next to a faint body laying peacefully on the floor.

Wait.. that's my body.. I really am dead aren't I.

I watch quietly as he sits down, starring at my lifeless body, he doesn't seem concerned, if anything he seems like he hasn't noticed.

He lays a hand on top of my body, somehow I could feel him touching the top of my bodies head.

This confused me more but also gave me some ideas.

Maybe I'm not dead, maybe I'm just, dreaming?? Spectator walking?

(Spectator walking is like astral projecting)

My thoughts were interrupted by Herobrine who spoke.

'Never in my days would I sit watching a human sleep and think, man I wish I could sleep this heavily.. sleep isn't required in this realm, one of the many things I fucking hate about this hell.'

Herobrine's tone seemed irritated towards the end.

He was really that frustrated with being in this place. And with being in it myself, I can mostly understand why.

You can't feel anything here, like the things you try to touch, hell not even pain can be felt here. I had pinched myself and felt nothing which is why I thought this might have been a dream.

I continue to watch Herobrine trying to brush his hand through my hair but could only move but a few strands, nothing more.

I hear something behind me and turn around, facing the hall to whatever it was down there.

Shockingly, it was pitch black down it despite my night vision ability.

Not really sure on what else to do I take one look back at Herobrine, he was sitting quietly watching me, but he seemed more dozed off then watchful.

I turn back around and walk into the hall.

I was quickly consumed by the darkness, couldn't see a thing and with my sense of feeling gone I truly had no clue where or what I was doing.

Suddenly I felt a hand grab mine and I was being pulled further into the darkness, I could feel how fast I was moving and I even started to panic a little.

I see a faint light ahead and as it got closer really quickly it looked like sealed doors.

"Wait WAIT SLOW DOWN SLOW DOWN"

I yelled to nothing as I was about ready to be thrown face first into the doors, but just when the doors were about to hit my eyes shot open and I sat up with a gasp.

I looked around frantically, it was dark but not like the darkness I saw in... whatever it was I was in.

I reach to the spare lantern I had found long before and carefully but quickly light it.

I sit in front of the lantern and stare at it, hugging my legs.

I felt cold and sweaty, but the moment I even put the sleep bag over me I swear even more.

I pant lightly, still shanked up by the what I can't even call a dream. It felt too real to be a dream even though I couldn't feel anything in it.

'What happened to you?'
Herobrine spoke, his echoey voice sending a chill up my spine.

But I quickly relaxed. Sorta.

"I..... I don't know.."

Was all I could get out.

'Nightmare?'
Herobrine assumed.

"No.... It was weird, like, I was here but I could see everything and like, I could see you, and myself, you were sitting near me and talking to yourself. And then I, I like turned around and saw the hall, it was dark, pitch black, and I went into it and couldn't see or feel anything and I was pulled and I saw these large doors and, and.."

I muttered out my last sentence before burying my face into my knees.

"I think I was in limbo."

Herobrine was silent, not saying a word after all I said.

"I think I was, in the place your in, cause I could see you, and I couldn't feel anything I touched, and I faxed through stuff. It was, scary."

I look up ahead, assuming he was still there and staring at me, then I turned my head and pointed next to me.

"You were sitting right here watching over me, and you were talking about, something like wishing you could sleep again."

I rest my head against the stone brick wall.

"That Place, it's awful, I can see why you don't want to be in there anymore. In there you feel like you have no physical form despite seeing  you have one. I couldn't even tell when I was walking and when I wasn't.."

'Yeah, that's limbo for you.'

Herobrine uttered..

'You said you saw doors?'

"Yes, they were tall, and looked like it was sealed shut with obsidian and some other material. There were also runes carved into them. But I couldn't make out what they said."

I rest a hand on my forehead, it was hot, but I felt so cold.

"I think I have a fever, my body feels so cold yet my forehead feels hot."

'I wasn't gonna say anything but you are very pale.'

Herobrine spoke soft at that, for a brief moment he almost sound worried.

"Herobrine, I think the place where you being held, is down that hall. But I won't be able to get to it in my condition. I need to go back and recover and plan more. Will you let me do That?"

I asked, I hated that, If I wanted to I would have just left without saying anything but I didn't want him to send the mobs after me.

'Perhaps it is best you retreat. I'll allow it... but don't think because your sick I'm letting you leave.'

"I just might have to, I don't even know if I have the right herbs and materials to make the right medicine."

'I'll handle that, my mobs render useful in these situations.'

I sigh, I suppose he would go to that extent. Well, it's on him if I die from illness.

I gather my things and surprisingly well, I managed to leave the area with no trouble from the warden or any mobs. Now to get out of the mine and head home and get myself fixed up.

It was dark out up on land as crickets chirped quietly.

And person stumbled through the dirt path leading back the city of Aether. The person clutched their pickaxe.

"Finally...."

Standing there was Ron, covered with bandages and bruises.

And a expression of anger on his face.

"I need to tell Notch.. about Herobrine.
And save Y/N."

{WHA OH, PLOT TWIST BOOM. I BET YOU DIDNT SEE THAT COMING HAHA. Nah I'm sure some of you have. It was just a matter of time.
