CHAPTER 3REE

EGHE

I step into the kitchen feeling all excited. This was my last tour before i call it a day. The kitchen area consisted of a waiting arena, and the cooking arena.

At the left of the waiting room there was a transparent office boldly written Mr James Gonzalez. At the right there was another office, this was made of marble and a translucent glass. At the door Manager was written boldly and at the bottom of manager, Out of bound was written in italics.

I walked through the enormous waiting arena and stepped into the kitchen proper. This was where all the sumptuous meal in the Luckett's hotel where been prepared. I thought excitedly Watching Mrs O'Brien who was ahead of me.

The kitchen staff all stood in their shinning white apron waiting to receive me, as it has been for other departments. I felt more excited as the aroma of what they prepared or where preparing grazed my nostril.

Mrs O'Brien went straight to business. I observed every faces as Mrs Veronica O'Brien anchored on. Mrs O'Brien explained to the staff while I was in their mist and finally introduced me to the staffs.

"This is Miss Eghosa Briana Luckett" I heard murmuring. These set of staffs were not use to me, for i hardly came this way when i was still schooling. So I more or less expected the reactions.

I kept my thoughts behind and observed the faces of my father's kitchen staffs. I needed to get familiar with their faces since I was becoming a part of them. As I observed, my eyes rested on a tall muscular form who stood all alone close to the exit door, his well gym arms folded.

He was watching me so intensely. A crooked smile formed on his lips when he noticed my eyes. I felt uncomfortable instantly.
He was not with an apron like the rest of the staffs, he stood looking like he was at a wrong gathering. We kept gazing at each other like we were in a contest. When I realized he was adamant on this gazing contest, I gave up and forcefully tore her gaze from his.

I concentrated on the other staffs being introduced to me. As they were introduced I kept stealing glances at the dude at the far end of the kitchen. He was just too bold and I didn't like bold.

He wasn't the most handsome dude here today, but there was something captivating about him. There was an aura surrounding him. His demeanour as he relaxed his hips on the kitchen island was full of suave. He was dressed so simple you would think he wasn't supposed to be here.

"Miss Luckett this is Ikay "

I heard my name, but i didn't know what went with it. So I blinked

"uhu, you said... " I asked trying to bring myself to the present. We where already standing in front of my subject of thought.

"You said what" I asked Mrs O'Brien again feeling a little embarrassed.

"I said this is Ikay__and he is a chef here" the older woman recapped.

Was that a smirk on his face. Like did he just make a mockery of me.

"Ikay who" I asked harshly

Mrs O'Brien was surprised by my outburst, but the arrogant bastard had the gut to smirk fully.

"Just Ikay" he replied.

I furrowed my brows, knowing then and there we were going to be arc enemies.

If he likes, he should be just Ikay, forever Ikay or future impossible Ikay. I didn't care.

Who is taking us around, I directed my question to Mrs O'Brien completely ignoring Ikay.

"That would be Ikay here" Mrs O'Brien replied me pointing at Ikay.

Today was going to be interesting.

Mrs O'Brien explained further, "Mr James Gonzalez should have handled the rounds, but he had to run an errand concerning the hotel. So Ikay here is his assistant" the elderly woman turned and smiled at the arrogant Brut.

"Shall we begin" she directed this to Ikay who was openly glaring at me, like he heard my thought.

**************

Eghe could swear with her life she didn't get what was said during the tour. She was far away.

Ikay wasn't the cutest guy she met here today, okay Handsome can be relative. But To her Robert from the Admin department was. He was one fine specimen. He was light skinned Ikay was caramel just like her. Thinking about it Eghe smiled to herself. Robert was far cuter than Ikay but she didn't drool over Robert. She has had her share of light skinned cute men, so she saw Robert as some basic guy.

This guy here was over six foot putting Robert 5'10 to shame. he carried himself like a demigod. He had the charisma, making her think of her dad. He talked with a sexy bass tone like he knew what he was doing and own the world. His voice sent shiver down her core. She would admit she had a thing for guys who had deep bass voice. For once in her life she understood what it meant for someone to have sensual appeal. She knew she was in trouble.

She mentally told herself she was never coming to this side of her father's hotel, before she made a complete fool of herself.

She wasn't ready to give her body to anyone yet, and not even the sensual dripping appeal Ikay.

"And that's it" Ikay's voice brought her back from her trance.
