Arc X Reader
Guess who's baaaaaaaack~! That's right! Chibi has made time to do this again so let us rejoice! Yay! Also, I don't play Final Fantasy so sorry if I get parts of it wrong.
Well anyway, on to the oneshot!
~Five years ago~
"Happy birthday to our big girl! Oh it brings tears to my eyes knowing that our daughter is turning 14 today!" You blushed and buried your face in your hands at your mom's words. "Moooooooom! Stop that! It's embarrassing me!" You complained to your mother as you heard your friend chuckling. "She's just kidding with you sweetie!" Your dad said. "I know, dad! It's just... my friend is here and I don't want him thinking anything weird of me..." Y/n looked at her friend. "He won't,"
You looked over at your friend and saw him staring at you, maybe into your soul! Y/n stared back as if they were having a staring contest. You felt your body move on its own as you got closer and closer to him.
"Time to open your present from me!" Aunt MoMo said smilingly at you with a camera in her hand. You snapped out of it and looked at the camera. "What's that for?" You asked. "You'll see, Y/n! Now open the present!" SNAP! You heard the camera start.
Shrugging you opened the present. Y/n felt it- a thin, smooth box. 'Is it what I think it is?!' You looked down at what you were now holding in your hands. It was what you thought it was- Final Fantasy III! "Auntie!? You didn't!" You ran to Aunt MoMo and hugged her.
"Now you can relax and play to your heart's content!" Aunt MoMo smiled.
~Present day~
"ANOTHER F?! Y/N!" Your mother yelled at you. This was an everyday thing now. Your parents ALWAYS got your grades every week. Most of your grades were Fs while only Creative Writing was an A+.
"So what?" You mumbled and rolled your eyes. "So what?! Don't you ever say that again to me, young lady! For your punishment I will be holding on to the game and that game device you play it on until you learn your manners and get good grades!"
"What?! Are you crazy, Natasha?! (If your name is Natasha you can change her name to whatever you want). That game is the only thing I have left of Auntie MoMo!"
"Did you just call me by my name?! Y/n, GO TO YOUR ROOM NOW!" Your mother got so furious with you that you ran to your room with tears slipping down your face. "AND HAND OVER THAT GAME STUFF!" Y/n slammed the door behind her and jumped on her bed, but your mother opened the door and stomped over to you with her hand out. "Game." She demanded. You glared as you got a DS and Star Wars DS game out and dropped it into her hand. "Good. Now don't try to sneak these at all otherwise you'll be grounded from your other games too." Your mother turned and left.
"Love you too, mother." Y/n said sarcastically. You got up, closed the door, and locked it. You then walked over to your window and shut the blinds, leaving you in a dark room. "Stupid mother..." you mumbled quietly and reached behind your pillow and grabbed your 3DS.
You started it and turned the brightness and volume down. You sighed as you tapped on the game that popped up, Final Fantasy III. When the "press START" button popped up you looked at characters and smiled a little. "Hi Arc..." you mouthed.
As you were playing Final Fantasy, you yawned. "Time for bed, Y/n!" Your mother yelled. "Already? Fine..." You kissed the screen where Arc was then saved your game quickly, fearing that your mother would walk into your room and catch you. You shut off the system and then proceeded to hide it in a spot that NOBODY would look. You climbed back into bed and pulled the covers over you and hugged your favorite Final Fantasy blanket with only Arc on it close to your chest.
'I'm so glad I switched out those games.. I don't know what would have happened if I gave her Final Fantasy!' You thought to yourself. You soon fell asleep dreaming of whatever you peeps dream of.
"Y/n, time to wake up!" Your mom yelled, shaking you awake. You groaned and rolled over in bed. "Wake up!! Now!!" You sat up in a flash. "I'm up!!" You snapped. "Don't yell at me, young lady!" She yelled. She then stormed out of the room. You rolled your eyes then got up and got ready for school.
Before you left, you sneakily put your 3DS in your backpack. Then you walked to the bus stop, not bothering to say "goodbye", and waited. The bus was taking FOREVER so you decided to pull out your game and started playing but something seemed off. "Where's Arc?" You searched everywhere in your game. There was no sign of Arc anywhere so you just decided to give up.
Eventually, the bus came and you got on, pocketing your portable system. You sat in a seat and went back to playing the game and fought a few monsters before you reached school and were forced to save and end the game. You sighed, "School's so boring...." You didn't really have friends. The only friend you knew and ever had had gone off to college which was several miles from you. You just stuck to your games instead of being in reality.
Science class was a drag, each minute felt longer than the last that during Sensei's speech, Y/n started to fall asleep. "Y/n L/n please report to the office. Thank you" said a woman over the intercom. That surely did wake you up and cause attention to yourself. "Well go," said Sensei as he pointed to the door. You got up and went to the office.
"Yes?"
"This boy says he knows you," the woman pointed to a tall male who was reading a book. He wore green, his hair was short and brown, and his eyes were brown. You felt as if you were chained to a boulder. "A-Arc?" You watched as he looked up from his book then back down at it.
Y/n knew it was him since he was playing his shy card. You freaked out then ran up and hugged him. "I was wondering where you went!" You started crying because of mixed emotions. "Don't cry, Y/N!" You heard him say then you looked up at him. He was blushing a little. "Why are you here...?" You sniffled. "T-to see what this place is LIKE! N-not that I TOTALLY didn't come for a different reason! Heh..."
The bell rang and Y/n and Arc went to History class. As you went to go sit down, you saw Arc had no chair so you give him yours which he accpeted while having his nose in a book. You pulled up a chair kind of close to him and placed your hands on the table. His hand sneakily slid over and held yours. You blushed and slouched a little. "Ms. L/n, mind explaining this whole relationship I never knew about?" You heard your teacher say. 'Shut up Sensei!'
Both Arc's and your faces turned red. "W-we aren't dating!" You took your hand away quickly. "Okay, okay. I'll stop bothering you." Your teacher went back to focusing on the lesson. As he was trying to teach you about history he messed up once in a while, so Arc corrected him. He was getting on Sensei's nerves.
Eventually, the bell rang and you grabbed your stuff and left with Arc trailing behind. Your next class was your favorite class, Creative Writing. You smiled as you entered the classroom and sat at your desk then got your stuff out to be prepared. Y/n grabbed the story that was due today, but accidentally dropped it. "Oh no!" You reached for it and failed since Arc grabbed it. "Thank you, Arc! Now pl-" you were cut short when you saw him read your story. 'He's a bookworm! Of course he has to read it!'
"The Legend Of (whatever your ship name is with him) seems to be a good story..." Arc mumbled. Y/n blushed hearing that. "I really like Y/n. She seems to be a beautiful and independent princess!" Arc mumbled again smiling. "Arc stop!" Tears started falling off your cheeks but you quickly wiped them away. "Hey Y/n! You're up first!" A student said. "N-now?!" You looked over to the Ceative Writing teacher who nodded then you looked at Arc. "I need that. NOW!" You held out one of your hands then froze in shock. 'I JUST SOUNDED LIKE MOTHER!' You quickly hugged Arc. "Sorry..." Arc said then handed you the story. You grabbed it and went to the front of the class.
"The Legend Of (ship name)," You began. "There once an boy named Arc. He lived in an orphanage in the town of Ur. Everyday he would look out the window of his room and feel his heart speed up as he saw the beautiful princess, Y/n." You blushed while reading it out loud knowing that Arc was listening. You could feel his gaze stare at you with.... love?
~At the the end of the class and now to lunchtime~
You ran to your locker quickly even though you kept running into other high schoolers and made sure you were a far distance from Arc. As you opened it you froze in place. There was a bag with a note attached to it. It read:
Here are your pills, you wimpy little girl!
'Mother is at my throat again because of the money, isn't she? Well at least she remembered my pills for once.' You thought to yourself as you opened the bag and grabbed a little container. You closed the locker door and you headed towards the girls bathroom. Oh Y/n.... you should've taken the note off too. Arc found it when he saw you leave your locker so he could see what you did.
As you walked up to the sink, you saw a reflection of four girls huddled together and watching you as they giggled amongst themselves. You shock off the staring and focused on unscrewing the lid off. As you did the bathroom door slammed open and hurried footsteps came towards you causing you to drop the pills from being startled, and your first instinct was to bed down and pick them all up. "Y/n don't do that!" You froze and your face turned red. "Arc, get out! Get out! This is for GIRLS ONLY!"
"S-sorry..." Arc noticed the girls taking pictures of him. He backed out of the bathroom quickly. "Well anyway, don't take those!"
"Why? These pills help me with depression!"
"Those don't, they are suicidal pills!"
"Huh?"
You looked at the spilled pills and it felt as if they were putting you in some type of trance and making you hear everybody badmouthing you. "I need one... I can't take it anymore...!" Tears streamed down your face as you reached for one.
"Y/n!" Arc braced himself as he ran back in the girls bathroom. "Hey, creep! Get out!" Demanded a popular to Arc. "Y/n snap out of it! Take these instead!" Arc put a tiny orange see-through bottle in front of your face. "No..." you shakily grabbed a pill. "You will! I don't want you to go so soon!" He swiftly opened the bottle and grabbed one of the pills and shoved it in your face but you saw it coming and turned your head away quickly, bringing your suicidal pill closer to your mouth only to have it slapped out of your hand.
"D-don't take that....!" Arc was now crying. "Please s-stay h-h-here with me...!" He kept trying to put the pill in your mouth but you kept refusing. Arc almost gave up, but being the smarty he is, he put the pill into his own mouth then kissed you on the lips causing you to stop in shock. He quickly slipped the pill into your mouth with his tongue. He then separated his lips from yours and watched as his trick succeeded as he saw you swallow the pill. He smiled a little through his nonstop tears.
~10 years later~
You woke up with the sunlight shining in your face. As you rubbed your eyes you looked around, but saw nobody there. "Just like I thought..." you sighed and walked to the bathroom. While you were searching through your bathroom cabinets a familiar voice was heard. "Y/n, I'm home!" Quickly you froze as you heard footsteps getting closer.
"Sweetie?" You heard him knock on your bedroom door. "Must still be- in the bathroom, again?!" He stormed into the bathroom then grabbed the little container. "Sweetie, this isn't fun and games." You looked at him then death glared him. "I hate you, Arc. Go die." You said coldly. Arc felt a tiny piece of his heart shatter at those words.
"I know you don't mean that." He unscrewed the lid and grabbed a pill. Wrapping a free arm around your waist as he put a pill in his mouth then kissed you to slip it in for you. As he parted his lips, you swallowed the pill then looked at Arc. "But they help me remember our first kiss!" You giggled. "It was more of a save your life situation. I am glad to hear that you think of it as our first kiss though." He chuckled.
"How about I give you a real kiss? One without a pill?"
