T.J Loves His Games!!

Magnus knocked on the door with the nameplate 'Thomas Jefferson Jr.' Out came a boy looking about 16 with dark skin, curly hair and a lanky frame, wearing a coat from the American Civil War. "Hey guys!! Whose that??" T.J asked, referring to Nico. "This is our friend Nico." Adri, who was out of view, suddenly popped out, scaring T.J. "And I'm Adrienne. Call me Adri."

"Well, hello!! Come in!!" As they walked in, Alex asked T.J if he wasn't even going to question the two demigods with them. "They're dead, aren't they?? Well, they smell of death." Nico and Adri shared a nervous chuckle. "No. We aren't dead. We're from the Greek side. I'm the daughter of Death and my father works for Hades, his father." Adri explained, waving a hand at Nico.

"Oh. So what brings you here??" "Well," Alex started and they took turns explaining the whole quest thing and how they need to get to Helheim. "Ahh.. Looks like you ran into a problem, my friends." he announced. Nico snorted. "Run into it?? We've bashed our heads and smacked into it."

"That's true. Either way, when I went to Helheim, Hel told me that having Ratatosk induce despair into you helps Helheim's gates open up to you." Adri made an exaggerated expression of disapproval at this. "Only way." T.J said, shrugging.

"Okay, now that's out of the way, did you die, 150 years ago??" Adri asked, leaning forward. Nico looked scandalized. "Don't ask people when they died. It's offensive!!" "Shut up grandpa. That's a Civil War uniform, isn't it??"

"You've done your research. Yes, I died 150 years ago." "Cool." Adri muttered, leaning back again. "Also, what's with the Grandpa comment?" Alex questioned, a mischievous glint in his heterochromic eyes.

Adri glanced at Nico for permission. The other three thought this was strange because, who would pass an opportunity to tell why they call their friends something stupid??  When Nico gave a slight nod, Adri began. "Nico is older than Alex and Magnus, not by months or days, but by years.." The Viking's faces were matching masks of bewilderment and confusion.

Nico cracked a smile at their faces. "I was born in the 40's. Got stuck in a hotel where time stays still. Literally. I'm s'posed to be 90 something, I guess??" As Nico said this, their jaws dropped. Adrienne burst out laughing, clutching her stomach. Nico's smile turned a little wider, witnessing this.

From the little time he spent around her, he could tell she didn't laugh much. Genuinely. It was always fake with undertones of pain. As if it hurt her to laugh. But this, this was genuine laughter. Finally, she managed to get a hold of herself. "S-Sorry. But your faces!!" she said, breaking into a little giggle.

"That wasn't what I expected.." Magnus said. Alex shook his head as if to reinforce Magnus' point. "Well, that was fun. Now, if you won't be playing games with me, please leave." As they were leaving, Magnus whispered about how T.J took his gaming time seriously.
