Adri's Room is Cool!!
According to Nico, Adri's room was pretty nice. The room's obsidian walls were decorated with bunches of lavender that gave the room a nice smell and scones with purple flames in them. There were a few framed painting here and there. A four poster bed with satin and net drapes. To finally finish it off, the room had a heavy dark oak table with bookshelves lining the whole wall.
"Your read all of those??" Nico looked at her. "Read. Past tense. I need new ones." she said. He stared at her. Each shelf probably held 250 books. And there were ten shelves. "More!!??" Nico continued staring at her incredulously. "I've been here since I was 9 or 10." "How come I never saw you then??" he asked, thinking she was bluffing. "I was busy learning the trade, you were busy saving the world." she stated simply.
"Also, what's with all the lavender??" "My nose is really sensitive. Strong smells make me sneeze. That's why Lavender-That-Never-Wilts, straight from Persephone's garden." Nico's eyes widened in surprise. "She let you have them??" Adri looked at him with a poker face. "I had to hunt a whole family of souls for her."
"Anyway, sit down. I'll pack my stuff." The Ghost King watched as she walked over to her huge wardrobe, pulled out clothes and stuffed them into a backpack. Which was probably enchanted because she stuffed lots in there.
Finally, Adri seemed to be satisfied with what she packed. "We need to go get Ambrosia and Nectar." Nico got up from the bed with a hop and held the door open for Adri. Adrienne didn't seem to notice and walked out mumbling about whether they were ready or not.
Nico jogged to keep up with Adri. "Slow down. Menoetes will give us some Ambrosia. We can ask Persephone for some really strong Nectar." She stopped and turned to look at him. "They won't just give it. They'll make us do something. We'll have to Iris message Magnus and Alex we'll be later than we thought." she again began rambling about how less time they had.
"Calm down. We'll do it." he said. Adri didn't look convinced, but she stopped rambling until they got to the farm.
"Nico di Angelo and Adrienne Morte!! What a pleasure to see you both down here!!" the dramatic demon said feigning surprise. "Hello Menoetes. We need fresh Ambrosia." Adri said, walking up to the demon. "I wonder why??" Nico heard Adri suppress a groan. "A quest." Nico stated. The bull-headed demon jumped with happiness. "Well, do me a favour then." "No." Adri said. "Pwease??" he asked, mimicking puppy eyes. "Ugh.. If it stops you from doing that, fine!!" Nico said. "And if you'll get us Ambrosia." Adri quickly added.
"Of course!!" Menoetes exclaimed. He took a deep breath and started, "I need you both to find this chain that Geryon lost. It's somewhere around in the barn. It's made of Bronze, so impossible to miss. It's also got a shiny ruby for the locket." Adri processed all of that. "You want us to find a necklace, a tiny chain, in a barn that big??" Menoetes nodded, grinning. "Oh let me just walk into this farm and retrieve a necklace. Oh wait, I can't because it's 1 kilometer wide!!" Nico saw how she started worrying again.
"One problem at a time, Morte. First, Menoetes, do you swear to give us Ambrosia and Nectar??" "Yes. I swear on the river Styx that I'll give you Nectar and Ambrosia once you've retrieved the chain." "Okay, Adrienne and I swear to find that chain of yours."
And just like that, Adrienne and Nico were stuck with an impossible task, that after finishing, they had to survive another impossible task. And at times like this, you use the phrase 'Sad life :( '
Yours,
Helene 🐺
