CHAPTER 12- Library
Park Jimin
Six year old Jimin was on a class trip with his grade. They were visiting the old library in Seoul.
"Now children, stick together and don't lose your partner. Once we arrive you all have to be on your best behavior!" The teacher in charge declared. When the bus stopped the teacher paired off everyone with partners but since the number of children in the class was an odd number, the teacher decided to be Jimin's partner for he seemed to be missing one.
They all got down from the bus and headed to the entrance. As soon as they entered, the teacher somehow forgot about the small six year old clinging onto her hand because she had already zoomed out of sight.
The idea of exploring the large library was exciting, so jimin went along with his new found plan.
He could hear the distant chatter of his fellow classmates fading as he strayed further away from the kids reading area.
He soon found himself in a very secluded part of the library. He wasn't fazed at all by the fact that he seemed to be lost. He was in fact a big boy and he could handle these types of situations. While admiring the many shelves adorning colourful books, scrolls and what not, he tripped falling face first on the plush red carpet. He turned around to inspect what had caused him to trip, and found what seemed to look like an old odd shaped book.
Non of the shelves had a missing book so he figured that someone had unintentionally dropped the book when leaving. He crawled over towards the book and gently touched the cover, (maroon) leather with a gold line running across the bottom. A sudden wave of nostalgia crashed over him. The feeling of it somewhat being connected to him was lingering in his mind. He carefully flipped the cover, expecting to see a paragraph full of words but was greeted with a picture. A group photo to be precise, eight young people with full smiles. Four women and four men. One of the woman looked so familiar, just at the tip of his tongue. Besides that another woman had white long wings, so majestic it brought a smile upon his face as well. The feeling of being sheltered and secured was what he felt when he looked at the woman.
He turned the page and the picture was totally different to the first. He immediately shrunk back away from the book as utter terror overcame him causing him to tremble. Never in Jimin's life was he this scared. Shivering, he leaned forward to take a look at what had frightened him so.
"There you are! Where did you wonder off to young man.." He heard the teacher say in a distance. Unable to react, he swiftly closed the book so that the teacher wouldn't mention anything. She sighed in relief when she neared him, she picked him up and supported him with one arm as she bent down to pick up the book.
"Oh did you find a book you liked?" She asked sweetly. He nodded slowly as he side eyed the book in her hands.
"Lets see what its about.."
"N-no!..I mean..its j-just pictures of ...p-puppies?" He said, it sounding more of a question than an answer.
"Okayy....Do you want to borrow it and show your parents? Or do you want to find another book like the ones your classmates are reading?" She asked with a raised eyebrow.
He shook his head saying 'no'.
"Well let me go and put it in you school bag" she said carrying him back from the way she came.

" Eomma! Appa!.." Jimin called out to his parents as he entered the house. The school bus had dropped him off at home.
"Oh nae sarang~~ you're home! How was your trip to the library?"His mother asked from the kitchen. She appeared moments later with flour covering her from head to toe. Jimin giggled at the state of his mother.
"Where do you think your going my sweet~~" His father laughed following in suite with an egg in his hand at the ready to fling at his wife. His smile had completely covered his eyes, so he couldn't see. He stopped smiling when she turned around and sent him a nasty look, resulting in the father looking down guiltily and hiding the egg.
"It w-was okay..I wanted to show you this.." Jimin stuttered nervously as he dug around in his bag. The parents figured out that something was off and walked over to the said six year old. Bending down to meet him at his level.
"Whats wrong honey.." The mother asked.
"N-nothing just this.." He said pulling out the book. The parents gasped in unison as they eyed the book with an unreadable expression.
"H-honey where did you find this.." The father asked slowly reaching out and taking the book into his grasp.
"In the liberly...why.." Jimin asked confused with his parents reaction. He wanted to ask about the second page and why it made him feel that way.
"Listen son..let me tell you something about your mother's past" The father began.

"And thats how we're still here alive, happy and blessed with a beautiful child" His mother ended hugging her husband.
"Now you have to understand that you should never tell anyone of what we have said today" His father said holding onto his son's hand. Jimin decided that the second page was something he was never going to ask about. He watched as his parents smiled sadly as they looked through the group photo and talked among themselves.
Here's another inside on how Jimin found out..
