Devasena goes to the dining hall for breakfast. Ammu tags along. He sits opposite her at the table with his face covered as she said not to see her until he remembered the previous night. Seeing him eating with a veil on his head she giggles to herself. After her meal she moseys to the garden to pluck flowers and he joins her there but maintaining a distance. Wherever she goes he follows her like a puppy following its master.

A: Devuu.... I don't remember a thing ma pls you only tell what happened... you take a cane and beat me but pls don't go without talking it hurts me...

Devasena ignores him. Depressed, he goes to Kattappa who narrates all that happened.

A: Oi musaloda!! So much I spoke couldn't you have shut my mouth ??

Ka: I tried telling you ra but you wouldn't listen you still kept on calling Saroja... I don't know what took place inside your chamber. That you will have to find out from your wife.

D: (Taking the veil off his head) What is this for ??

Suppressing a giggle she talks to him in a firm tone.

D: You seem to be brooding over something. What happened ?

A: Mmm... that... mama told me.Your anger in justified. I promise I will never touch booze in my life ever again.

Devasena smiles softly as her purpose had been achieved. Her Ammu gave her his word that he would never indulge in booze. Feeling relieved, she sits beside him their arms rub against each other but he moves aside.

A: I am sorry for my behaviour last night. You... you...may talk to me when you have forgiven me until then I won't...

She snuggles up to him, coils her arms around his and leans her head on his shoulder.

D: My intention was not to hurt you Ammu but make you realise the consequences of such habits. How it pained you when I ignored you likewise if you indulge in these things there will be a day you too will ignore me. Can I let that happen ?? Drinking is bad Ammu.

A: I understand Devuu. If a mother is strict that is because she wants her child to go on the right path not because she hates him. You are my second mother Devu.

They exchange smiles and he grasps her hand.

D: Hmm...yesterday I was 'Saroja' your sister today your mother, tomorrow what will you address me sir ?

A: Huh.. sister ?? You mean to say I didn't misbehave with you ??

Ammu blushes at the compliments he receives from his Devu.

A:(chuckles) That is true no ??

D: (widens her eyes) What ?? How dare you !!! Am I such a...

She raises her hand to smack him when he grips her wrist.

Devasena's cheeks turn crimson at his shameless remarks. She hides her face in her palms. With a mischievous glint in his eyes, he slides his arm around her waist pulling her towards him as they fall back on the bed. 💏🙈

Ammu grins as he reminisces that night.

Mahe's call breaks his reverie.

A: Huh..uh... what Mahe ?

M: What happened when you returned to your room after meeting thatha ?? Did amma forgive you ??

A: Yeah... she did... so after that I didn't touch those stuff.

After 2 days,

Ammu comes in after his bath. He sees Devasena, now with sindoor on her forehead and hairline, glass bangles,wedding chain and toe rings patting their son's head gently as he sleeps with his head on her lap. He recalls himself sleeping on his mother's lap and his face turns pale. Devasena notices this. She calls him to her side.

D: What happened Ammu ??

He sits beside her taking her hand into his.

D: Ammu, I wasn't in that song so how do you expect me to know the details ?? Come to the point.

A: I mean.. Amma..

Devu pulls her hand from Ammu. He looks at her face which is wild with rage.

D: I am sorry Ammu. I won't come! If her presence in our lives gives you peace and happiness you go and bring her. I will serve her as always. To me she will be Rajamatha Sivagami Devi ONLY !

A: Devuu, she is my amma !

D: That is what you think! To me she isn't !!

She breaks down crying and Ammu hugs to console her. Because of this movement, Mahe stirs from his sleep but Ammu pats his head and he goes back to sleep.

A: (Whispers)I..I am sorry Devuu...I can understand your feelings... pls, pls don't cry you have already suffered a lot I can't bear to see tears in your eyes pls Devuu. Calm down ma. I won't bring up this topic again !

Ammu doesn't argue further knowing his strong headed wife besides he didn't find her wrong she was the one victimised the most because of their conspiracies so her fury was natural. Some wounds are to be left just as is and let time heal them he thought. Still his heart yearned for his mother. Will Devasena accept Sivagami ??
