Chapter Seven: Rogues

Diana's POV

"I don't know, do I have options?"

"Yeah, we can go meet the pack warriors, the children, we can even just look around the pack and I can just show you where everything is." I thought about it for a second, and I decided that I would love to meet the pack warriors.

"I think the pack warriors would be interesting."

We began walking for a few minutes and talked about some random stuff until we made it. I heard men and women shouting, and fights were happening everywhere. I turned my head left and right in awe, watching them defend themselves and shifting into wolves.

"Wow," I said breathlessly.

I turned my head to see a man yelling at many of the wolves, causing them to howl and roar with determination.

"That's Gamma James. He is your third in command and also the commander of your pack warriors. He trains them so we are always prepared for ambushes and wars, stuff like that." I was very intrigued and continued to watch them for some more time.

James seemed to notice us watching and made his way to Monica and me.

"Mon, what are you doing here? Don't you think Blake is worrying his ass off about you?" I snickered, making him glance his eyes to me.

He seemed to look at me with lust causing me to get uncomfortable. Monica realized before saying,

"I don't think Alpha Mason would appreciate it if you were looking at the Luna like this." His eyes widened and he looked at me with an apologetic look.

"You're the Luna? Do we have a Luna? Oh, I'm so sorry I didn't know." I put my hand up in a stopping motion letting him know that it was alright.

"It's alright."

Monica grabbed my hand and pulled me to the side grinning.

"You are a great mother of this pack. A natural." She winked.

"M-m-mother?"

She nodded with her eyes closed giggling.

"That is exactly what a Luna does Diana! You might be the female leader of the pack but you are also like the mother."

I went into a state of shock. A mother? Again a friendly reminder, there was no way I was fit to be a queen!

"Don't worry too much about it." I shook my head, trying to get that thought out of my head.

"Why don't we go see the children."

I loved children, yet my face dropped. This wasn't helping the situation we had just talked about.

We made it to the little kids, and my heart instantly warmed up making me forget about our whole conversation. I put my hands over my heart awing with pure love. The joy it brought to me just being able to see their innocent faces laughing without any worry in the world.

I felt a little tug on my leg seeing a young girl about 5 years old. Her bright blue eyes gleamed at me and her dirty blonde hair blew in her face from the wind. I bent down giving her a pearly smile.

"Hello darling, what's your name?"

She giggled at me grabbing my black hair in her hands.

"I'm Rose." I gave her a smirk, winking at her.

"Beautiful name." Monica cleared her throat crossing her arms.

She looked down at me before nudging her head to the side.

"Watch out, you got some more coming."

I looked forward to seeing a few more kids running up to me. I heard very cute compliments from each of them.

"Wow, she's so pretty!"

"I love her smile!"

"Can we be friends?"

I laughed looking back up to Monica. she raised her eyebrows, pointing her thumb behind her.

"I'll leave you guys alone for a bit."

Monica left me with the kids. I turned my head to see them all staring at me with curious eyes.

"Hello loves, I'm Diana...your Luna."

I saw them stare at me quietly before they began jumping around and giving me hugs.

"We have a Luna! We have a Luna!" I pulled away from them,

"What are all of your names?"

"I'm Cody!"

"Lou!"

"Jenna!"

"Jamie!"

I gave them a warm-hearted laugh again, talking to them once more, I was curious to see as to why they had no parents near them

"Where are your parents?" They became quiet, a negative vibe was suddenly around.

I felt Rose get into my lap and play with my hair again.

"Luna, we don't have parents." I gave her a look of shock before shifting my head to the rest of them.

"Where do you all sleep?"

They pointed to a nice cabin across from us.

"A werewolf named Catherine took us in and has been taking care of us, she doesn't really pay much attention to what we do though." My eyes started to tear up and they all noticed giving me a group hug.

"Luna please don't cry, we didn't mean to make you sad." I shook my head embracing all of them.

"Don't worry about me. Just know, I will be here for all of you if you need anything alright you guys?" They all nodded and cuddled into my sides sitting on the ground with me.

They all sat in silence as I hummed tunes and told them all of my embarrassing stories. Giggles were heard once in a while.

I saw one of the kids sit up and sniff the air before looking at me with a look of fear.

"Luna, Rogues!" I still didn't know what rogues were but I knew they didn't seem to be good.

"Okay everyone grabs hands! We need to run as quickly as we can to the cabin."

I felt two tiny hands grasp into mine before we started running towards the cabin. I kicked the door open letting all the kids in first. I slammed the door behind us locking it.

Tiny screams were heard as they all ran behind me crying. I shifted my head down slowly to see a woman covered in blood with her chest ripped wide open.

I let out a loud scream which was soon louder when a heavy pounding was heard on the door also covered by sickly snarls. I saw some stairs and yelled at them to run.

"COME ON KIDS! HEAD UPSTAIRS!"

I grabbed a couple of their hands dragging them up the stairs making sure that no one was left behind. We ran into a bedroom and I locked the door behind us, pushing a large dresser in front of the door, barricading it as best as I could.

I heard sobbing from all around me making me immediately bend down on the ground facing them. I raised my pointer finger up to my lips making a shushing sound.

"Shhh, quiet down, we can't let them know we are in here."

I saw them cover their mouths with their tiny hands, whimpering. I looked up at the ceiling, praying quietly. Snarls were heard on the other side of the door along with loud banging.

It was trying to break in. I saw the door chip leaving a hole, yellow eyes peeking through, causing me to scream on the top of my lungs.

"LUCA!" I began sobbing, yelling his name again.

"LUCA!"

Luca's POV

My eyes shifted as I killed another.

"LUCA!" My head snapped towards my right as I heard my Diana yell for me. I ran without a second thought to my mate.

"LUCA!" I heard her by the north side of the border.

I was tackled to the ground by a rogue, I roared in anger, clawing his neck and chest before biting into his ear ripping it off, ending the soul.

my body was soon off the ground and I  continued to run to her.

Soon enough I made it to the north side of the territory, sniffing the air to find her lovely scent. Once I found it, I followed it as it led me to the children's cabin. What was she doing there?

I ran in and saw Catherine's body exposed and opened, I covered my nose with my wrist, trying to stop myself from gagging.

A loud banging was heard upstairs along with harsh growls and snarls. I heard my beautiful mate scream again.

I ran up the stairs to see a rogue trying to get into the bedroom Diana was in. I roared loudly causing the rouge to shift his head to me.

"Bad idea, mutt."

I grabbed the rogue by the neck picking him up with ease. He was thrown and slammed into the ground causing the wood floor to break.

He tried to get up but I put my foot down on his neck, pushing on it hard. His eyes rolled to the back of his head, letting me know he was dead. I ran to the door and slammed my shoulder into it a few times before finally breaking in. My heart broke at the sight that I had seen.

I saw my love sitting in the middle of the children, they were all sobbing and hugging each other with fear.

Diana ran to me, wrapping her legs around my waist and arms around my neck. She sobbed loudly in my shoulder and I let her. My hand rubbed her back soothingly as I whispered calming words to her,

"Shhh, it's okay, I'm here baby. You're fine love I'm here." She dug her head deeper into my shoulder not wanting to let go.

I heard the kids crying too, covering their mouths. I sat down on the ground in between them having Diana straddle me. She never let go, the thought of knowing her trust in me made my heart jump, making my love for her increase.

All the little kids sat next to me while I whispered soothing words to them also. They all stayed very close to me, a couple even holding onto me. The only thing heard was Diana and the children sniffling.

"Thank you, Alpha. I'm really sorry Luna was in danger." I heard Rose say through tears.

I shook my head motioning for her to come over.

"Rose, this wasn't anyone's fault. I wanted to say thank you to all of you for staying with your Luna, you guys kept her safe."

I gave Diana a lingering kiss on the top of her head sitting down with the kids for a few more minutes.

"Blake, call some warriors and tell them to come to the children's cabin on the north side, we need some bodies cleaned up right away."

"Yes, Alpha."

I rubbed Diana's back soothingly.

"Diana, love we need to get up."

She shook her head 'no' clinging onto me tighter. I chuckled, getting up with a struggle. She was still wrapped around me and I put my hands under her butt, adjusting her.

I gave her another kiss on the head, carrying her outside, the little children following me.

The sight I saw was horrid, the whole northern border was a mess, blood and dead rogues and pack members were lying on the ground.

I felt Diana get off of me and grab onto my hand squeezing it gently. My hand squeezed back for reassurance, letting her know that I wouldn't let anything happen to her.

She grabbed Rose's hand and I felt Cody grab my left hand. Someone tapped my shoulder causing me to turn my head to the side.

Monica was crying insight, covering her mouth. She grabbed Diana and pulled her into a hug, crying into her hair.

"I'm so sorry! I never should have left you all alone. This is all my fault! I will never leave you again I promise."

Diana let go of my hand, wrapping her arms around Monica.

"It's okay, it's not your fault! You didn't know, and it was just so sudden."

I put my hand on the bottom of Diana's back causing her to turn and hug my torso, her warm touch making my heart beat faster.

Blake came running to us from the cabin kissing Monica deeply before giving us attention. I gave him a nod and he gave me one back.

"Luca, I found a place for the children to stay. You and I need to go talk to those rogues in the cells right now before this can happen again, we almost lost our Luna and we just found her." I growled at the thought of my mate leaving me alone in this world.

My grip on her tightened, she didn't seem to mind.

"Let's go talk to those bastards."
