Solitude

is the empty space

around you

in which one does contemplate

the wringing silence

pin drop multitudes of no sounds

where everything is nothing at all.

Breath in and out

your thoughts shout out aloud

every inch they take

pushing you to the brink

forcing a rethink

in the mind's ice rink

where emotions sit frozen

for years they have been dozing .

Silent but relentless in their pursuit

even though a lifetime you have tried to shoot

them off to somewhere else.

there is no escape.

you have to meet your written fate
