Next up! An interview with the lovely Maisie, -FireHeart-!

DP: Hi Maisie! it's great to have you on AA. The first question we'd like to ask you is, how did you come up with your username?

M: Okie, so if you've ever read the Throne Of Glass series you may know of a character named Aelin Ashryver Galathynius. Her nickname is Fireheart. BOOM.

My pen name, however, is more complicated. I was absolutely obsessed with the Shadowhunter series at the time, and I went online to search 'Shadowhunter first names' Maisie was one of the options, so I picked that one. Then, I wanted to have a root word to my last name and I picked Thorn for same reason. I don't even know why. Then, I clearly just kinda choose 'Stern' as my add-on thus Maisie Thornstern was created. Mai is an obvious nickname, and Maizie is a nickname bestowed upon me by the lovely Mistalee_ Pretty corny nickname, huh? ;) 

K: Ahaha, I see what you did there! I get it. So smart mee....

M: And my singer/songwriter name Izel Heart is actually a shortening of my first name, and then Heart taken from 'Burning Heart' by Svrcina

K: Your name is awesome though.

DP: That's a really cool story(about your name)! What's your favorite genre in books?

M: I have to say my favorite genre to read is definitely humor, mostly because I fail at writing it. Like seriously, you can read my books. I sound like a complete dork! But my favorite genre to write is Young Adult or Teen Fiction, mostly because I can honestly rant through them and nobody will care. Yep, that's why I like them lol.

Ash: I disagree! I think your stories are hilarious!

K: Mee too! They're always so full of life too. Vivacious. Is that the right word I wanted? Anyway, onto the next question.

DP: What is your favorite genre in music?

M: Hmmmmm that's a hard question. I like a lot of genres of music. I'd say that my favorite artists are Svrcina, Ruelle, EZA, Daya, Ellie Goulding, Alessia Cara, and Zayde Wølf.

K: Haha, you didn't quite answer the question. But I love Meet Me on the Battlefield by Svrcina.

K: It's the best, so amazing. Def my favorite song of all time!

DP: Your first celebrity/cartoon/anime crush?

M: My first celebrity crush was a figure skater named June Hyoung Lee. Yep, it was a figure skater and still is, don't judge me. 

DP: Don't worry, we're not judging. We know of people with much more weird celebrity crushes. *looks at Ash*. If you have pets, how many, what animal and their names.

M: Haha I have too many pets :) I have my baby, a cat named Buttercup, my brother's cat named Ray Allen, and my other baby, that's a Shicion puppy named Quinn. 

K: Lucky! I want a pet, but they're too much to care for. Mine would probably die of neglect....
Sad face.

DP: That's a lot of pets! What types of stories do you have planned in the future and what genres?

M: OML you'll never hear the end of this question. I'm going to write My Name Is Useless as my NaNoWriMo novel in Young Adult, Escaping Summer, a teen fiction novel, The Wide Open Field Of Darkness in Romance, Gold Heart, a collab with Eliz in....fiction lol. I'm probably writing a bunch of novellas based off of songs and a whole bunch of books on unsolved mysteries. I'm also writing a bunch of songs and a Throne Of Glass Fanfiction!

K: Haha, that's a lot! Can't wait to read them all!

DP: What genre do you think is the most difficult to write?

M: I think that for me, writing is just difficult in general.

K: Oh man, I have got to say. Your writing is amazing.

M: Haha. But seriously, I feel that writing any type of genre will have it's challenges and, you can't find a genre without them. 

DP: What is your current favourite book on Wattpad?

M: Seriously? This is like asking me to pick between my friends lol.

K: Ahaha....
*crosses fingers and looks hopeful*

M: Ummmmmmmmmmmmmm maybe Eve By CesarVitale.

DP: What is your current favourite book off Wattpad?

M: The Devil In The White City

Excuse me why I go rant to a stranger about how amazing this book is.

K: Same, just same.

DP: What are your favorite qualities in the lead hero of a book?

M: In a hero, I'd honestly like the hero to not show their weaknesses. I like them to be kind and honest, and I don't like them to be too overprotective of their partner.

Ehrm, Tobias Eaton, Jace Wayland/Herondale/Morgenstern/Fray/Lightwood (Dang! That boy has too many last names lol)

DP: What annoys you the most when you read?

M: Ugh. I can't deal with people who don't know how to write. Like, for instance, for me it's Veronica Roth. I was 12 when I read her book for the first time, and now I look back at it like WTH WHY'D I EVER LIKE THIS?!

DP: What annoys you the most when you write?

M: When there are two many or two little characters for a scene to happen. Like honestly, you'll have it planned in your head and then you'll forget that Mary is still in the room and then ur like -_- dang it  

DP: What sort of behavior of readers and writers do you love on Wattpad?

M: I love it when the reader interacts with the writer. This seems weird, but I completely love it when the reader comments and votes. Like, it will make my day.  

DP: What sort of behavior do you absolutely despise?

M: Haters. Just haters. And liars.

OMG I get like 2 messages a day of people who are like "Hey I read your book. Read mine" and my reply is usually nice but inside I'm like "Get off of my back and shut up. I know you didn't read it".

K: Ugh, those types of people are slimy ratballs that don't need to live anywhere but the sewer without wifi of any kind.

DP:  Is there anything you'd like to say to your readers?

M: Uhhhhhhhh I don't have any lol. 

K: Haha, well, I'm a reader. So, I exist. Jeesh.

DP: Well, since Mai doesn't have anything to say to her readers, we do!

We have recently received some reports about some instances of hateful bullying against Mai by some readers and stalkers. All we'd like to say is that your hateful words are not going to work against her, because she is a strong and kind person, and she has a whole army of friends who will come at her side whenever she needs them. We sincerely hope that you are able to overcome whatever issues you have in your life that make you say hateful things to complete strangers on the internet.

K: Yeah! Back off, haters. If you don't like things, don't read them. Or even click on them. Your opinion may be valuable to you, but not to anyone else.

On a nicer note, I'm extremely sorry that we've been slacking off with both books on this account. We're hoping to get back into the swing of things soon, and publish the new and improved BMS. And of course AA will be continuing.

Additionally, we'll start interviewing other authors off of Wattpad, maybe and some fictional book characters too. Or at least, how we imagine them to be.
