"Daddy why don't you ever have time to play with us anymore?" Lily asked her father

"I'm sorry baby I know I'm always busy but can you keep a secret?" Lily nodded eagerly

"Well I'm writing and creating something for mommy and you guys" Lindsey picked Lily up and placed her on his lap

"Your making us something?"

"Yeah like a dedication sort of thing for the people I live for"

"Does mommy know?"

"No she doesn't and you can't tell her okay? I want it to be a surprise" Lily mimed crossing her heart then planted a big kiss on her father

"Secrets safe with me daddy!" Lily hugged him and then ran off out the door, almost running into her mother on the way

"Hey baby!" Lindsey spoke to Stevie

"Hey"

"Where are you going to dressed all beautiful like that?"

"Oh umm, Sharon and I are going for coffee, I just came to say see you later"

"Want me to come? I could do with a break" he got up and embraced her

"No no, we wanted a girly catch up, no men allowed" she came up with a quick excuse

"Oh okay, that's cool, I'll see you later on then alright?" He kissed her and rubbed her swollen belly

"Okay see you"

"I love you"

"I love you too" Stevie replied and walked out the room, she felt guilty about meeting another guy, but it was just coffee right?

Stevie had met Paul and they were sitting in the cafe drinking coffee and chatting generally

"So does your husband know where you are?" Paul asked

"He knows I've gone for coffee but he thinks it's with a girl friend of mine"

"Have you asked said friend to cover?"

"No Lindsey doesn't care, he's too busy in his studio doing god knows what"

"Have you asked him what he's doing in there?"

"Yeah he just says I'll see soon" Stevie said with a trace of annoyance

"Want to change the subject?" Stevie nodded and they moved on to a different topic, about places they've been or want to go

"Lily, Adam I need your help" Lindsey asked from the floor of the studio where he brought his kids into to watch them

"Okay daddy"

"Right I'm going to show you a group of pictures and I want you to chose the one that you like the most okay?" Lily clapped her hands together at the thought of a game

"Go for it daddy!"

Lindsey laid out a series of photos that he had taken recently and watched as Lily studied them intently

"I chose this one!" She pointed to a picture that was also Lindsey's favourite

"Okay, how about you Adam?" He watched as his son crawled over and placed a chubby hand on the same photo Lily has chosen

"Perfect! Thank you sweethearts" he opened his arms and his children gladly walked and crawled into them

The kids had gone for their naps about half hour later and Lindsey was thinking of something that he could cook for Stevie, he decided on a Bolognese but realised he had no spaghetti, he decided to phone Stevie to ask her to get some on the way home, he saw her phone on the side, so he knew he would have to phone Sharon

"Hey Sharon!" Lindsey said when she picked up the phone

"Hey Lindsey! What do I owe the pleasure?"

"I'm making Bolognese tonight and I realised that I'd run out of spaghetti so I wondered been as your with her if you could ask Stevie to get some on the way home?"

"I would honey, but I'm not with Stevie..."

"But she said you were having coffee today?" Lindsey was confused

"I haven't seen or spoken to Stevie for about four days"

"Oh it's alright, I must have just misheard her that's all, sorry to disturb your day"

"It's not a problem Lindsey, speak to you soon!"

"Speak soon, and thanks again Sharon!" Lindsey hung up and thought hard, had he really not heard Stevie right? Or did she lie to him about who she was seeing?

Lindsey walked upstairs a little while later and woke up the kids

"Hey want to come for a walk with daddy?" He really wanted to know where Stevie was, there was only one coffee shop Stevie ever went to

"Yeah walks with dadddddddddy" Lily jumped up and down. Lindsey got the kids ready and put Adam in his pram, leaving the house with a feeling in the pit of his stomach

At the cafe Stevie and Paul were still talking, when Paul suddenly started staring at Stevie

"What? Have I got something on my face?" Stevie asked

"No no! I was just thinking if you wasn't married I would kiss you!" He blushed at his forwardness

"I'f I wasn't married I would probably let you!" She shocked them both, she missed this sort of attention from Lindsey

"Can I please?" He once again stared

"What kiss me? That would be so wrong!"

"This coming from the woman who lied to her husband who she is with! You said it yourself he doesn't pay attention to you, so let me do it for a while, it's one kiss that's all..." Stevie bit her lip, she craved so much love from Lindsey and he wouldn't give it her her

"One kiss..." She said after a while of silence

Paul reached across the table and took her cheek in his right hand, caressing her lip with his thumb, slowly he brought her head to his and kissed her lips, it wasn't passionate but it wasn't exactly innocent either, Stevie melted into it, she had been waiting so long to feel loved again

Lindsey stood and watched through the window as his pregnant wife was kissing another man, they hadn't broken away and were still into the kiss, Stevie's hand now in the mans hair. Lindsey moved on from the window before his daughter saw her mother kissing some stranger, walking away as a single tear fell from his eye
