Life

AN- life. Anyway here's the next chapter. - AN

Kurt POV

My chest hurts and damn it's annoying. Don't get me wrong, I'm really, really glad that Blaine picked surgery instead of leaving me with glass in my chest, but the pains in my chest are getting damn irritating. When I was in hospital last week, I told my nurse about it, but god knows how THAT conversation went...

*Flashback*

"Umm, Nurse Lynda?" I call out to her before she leaves.

"Yes, Kurt?" She turns and looks at me, eyes sparkling.

It's the last day of the week, and tomorrow Blaines going to come and take me home. The thought of him makes me smile.

"Is it normal for my chest to still really hurt each time I move?" I inquire.

She smiles.

"Yes, and it will stay that way for two more weeks. I'll tell your brother about what not to do and so on."

Wait, what? I'm very confused at this point.

"When did you meet Finn?"

Now her expression matches mine.

"Who? I was talking about Blaine, the boy who visits you every day. He's your brother, isn't he?"

I open my mouth to speak, but she continues

"It's not like he could be anything else. He -"

"He's my boyfriend, actually." I cut in.

Lynda looks stunned, but then regains her normal expression.

"You're clearly just confused," She says, placing her hand on my shoulder, "But I can help clear your head if you want..."

I shake her off.

"Okay, please get out, this is really creepy. And, for the record, I'm gay!!"

She spins around and leaves, muttering something along the lines of "fine, be that way".

Needless to say, it's a big relief when Blaine takes me home the next morning.

*End Flashback*

I shudder at the memory and sigh, looking over at my bed, where Blaine is asleep, face peaceful and gorgeous. I lay down next to him and rest my hand on  his cheek. He stirs, moving so his head is on my chest. I stroke his hair as he closes his eyes again. Softly, I begin singing to him.

If you ever find yourself stuck in the middle of the sea,
I'll sail the world to find you
If you ever find yourself lost in the dark and you can't see,
I'll be the light to guide you

Find out what we're made of
When we are called to help our friends in need

Blaine sighs in his sleep and nestled in closer to me.

You can count on me like one two three
I'll be there
And I know when I need it I can count on you like four three two
You'll be there
'Cause that's what friends are supposed to do, oh yeah

As I finish, I kiss him on the forehead, and slowly fall asleep myself.

But... unlike Blaine's obviously is, my sleep is not peaceful. It is haunted by memories. Ever since surgery it's been like this. I saw my life flashing past my eyes, and even the worst memories resurfaced. The nightmare shakes me to my core.

*Flashback/dream*

I'm in Blaine's house. His parents are home, and he leads me to the dining table, where we sit.

"Blaine, lovely for you to be home," His mother smiles warmly at us both.

Blaine smiles quickly, then looks over at his father, clearly nervous. I take his hand under the table and squeeze it reassuringly, but he snatches his hand away. I suddenly feel lonely and isolated.

"Who is this, Blaine?" His father's tone is bored and uncaring as he puts down the newspaper. "Your friend from school?"

"Umm, my, my boyfriend actually." He mumbles.

Blaines father freezes, and his eyes travel over to me, where they stop, stone cold.

"Get out." He speaks with a voice of ice. "No son of mine would have a boyfriend."

Blaines eyes are desperate, and full of agonous heartbreak.

"But father-"

"Don't call me that. Get out of this house and don't come back until you've got a girlfriend."

"Well I WON'T come back then!!" He shouts, tears building in his eyes, "I'M NOT STRAIGHT, I'M GAY!! Please get that through your HEAD!!"

With that he takes my hand and draws me out the door. We get in his car, and he drives us somewhere I can't make out. He pushes me into the back seat, still not breaking the kiss.

"Come on, take my mind off it, please Kurt, please," He murmurs.

I push him away.

"Stop it Blaine, you aren't in your right mind."

"What do you mean, of course I am, kiss me Kurt, please. Don't you remember? I sung teenage dream to you, and one of the lines was 'let's go all the way tonight', let's go all the way, Kurt, please..."

"I- No!!"

Blaine is startled and sits up, hurt in his eyes.

"I'm sorry," I whisper, pulling him into my arms, "But this isn't the way to deal with what happened ."

He begins shaking, and I realise he's crying.

"He doesn't, doesn't accept me, accept us... it's never been like this before..."

Blaine buries his face in my shoulder and I hug him tightly.

"It's okay," I murmur.

But the broken look in his eyes haunts me. Especially since I know that it"s all. My. Fault.
