Chapter 17
"I... I'm a dragon," She sighed. "and I need your help."
I gazed in surprise for a moment.
"And how can I help a massively huge dragon who could roast me for dinner?" I mewed, feeling uncomfortable.
"You can kill me."
"I can what?"
"Well... It's a long story."
"Since you brought me out here to talk you might want to tell me; I don't bite you know." I mrowled, thinking of a few minutes ago.
"I'm an outcast." She said in a rather fast and distinct way.
"Wow. Super long story. I think you just broke a record! Oh my, let me go tell everyone!"
"I could tell you why."
"THEN TELL ME."
"I can't..."
"Well then what was the point of bringing me out here?" I snarled in utter confusion.
"To tell you the story..." She said with a wispy voice.
"What story, you filthy beast? What story is it that made you take me away from my friends, even for a minute that you won't tell? Why do you refuse to tell me? And why, oh why would you want a powerless cat like me to kill you?" I growled.
"I... I... Oh, there was a curse and I don't know what to do, what to expect, everything is just so...so terrible!" She mumbled.
"Tell me about this curse." I prodded gently.
She looked me in the eyes with fiery red eyes and then began the story. "It all began... Some forty years ago when I was born. An evil dragon kidnapped my egg and put a curse on me. She said that only proper pride and love could stop this from happening... Years it's been happening...." She broke off in an unexpected sob.
"What's been happening?"
"Animals have been... Dying. You should notice, you saw the dead cats and you saw the eye- that eye was... It was, my brother. Part of the curse said that if my brother and I didn't bond properly this would happen..."
"Why didn't you bond?"
"She never returned my egg. I was egg-napped and that's how it happened. The only way it will stop is for us to either... Bond or die."
"Well I'm not killing you."
"The bonding had to be done before the orange cat came. But you're here! And If I die, he dies and I'd rather die then other creatures die. I've caused enough damage already."
"Why don't you go jump in a volcano or something...? I don't like killing stuff unless it's my prey."
"Oh but it had to be done by the paws of the orange cat."
That was when another reptile burst into the stone house and smiled a gleeful smile.
"Who's this your talking to, my dear sister?" He growled.
