CHAPTER 2
《Chapter 2》
《Sariah's pov》
He glanced at me. "I hope it no too late fi u cook huzzy dinna." He remarked.
"Huh! Go fishing." I told him.
"Wey u mean go fishing, u can't tell mi u no have a genna a wait pon u, or probably him no come home yet?" He questioned.
Why the hell was he asking me this question, I wondered to myself. "Huh! Keep fishing." I told him, I guess he was just making conversation and teasing me. So I decided to not take it personal, until he asked out right.
"Yuh don't have a man Ms. Sariah?"
I was a bit taken aback by his straight forwardness but answered. "Not presently."
There was a pause as as he negotiated through the Saturday evening traffic heading into Half Way Tree. "Yuh know mi tink sey yuh married and well settled, cause mi a sey yuh man is a lucky bredda." He said with a tinge of humor in his voice.
I got ready to get out has we neared Half Way Tree but he continued on the road leading to Cross Roads. I wondered where he was going to drop me off, the nearer the better for me though.
"Where in Harbour View yuh live?" He asked.
"Upon a hill side close to the stadium." I told him.
"Will I get buss head if I dropped you off at the hill foot?" He asked smirking.
"No, I live a very respectable life, I'm too mature for those shenanigans." I replied.
"Toooo matuureee," He drawled, "Oh, mi need yuh numba, hope yuh can sort out upstairs fi mi next week." He said taking up one of his Iphones, he opened it and gave it me. I add my number and gave it back to him and he took it and put it back on his lap.
The drive was quiet between us after that, we drove down South Camp Road and took the sir Florizel Glaspole highway to Harbour View, where I directed him to my gate.
"Thank you very much, I appreciate the ride home." I said to him as I opened the door to get out.
"Mi tink a did way up pon a hill yuh live, a two house which one a dem yuh live inna?" He asked.
"The one on the hill," I replied.
"Oh." He said looking up at it. "Alright take care and thanks." He said and I wave as he turned his car and toot the horn driving off.
I opened the gate and went in, my sister hissed her teeth nastily as I walked by. Without looking at her I held my head high and walked up the steps to my house. She and my smaller brother lived in my father's dead left house. I built my house on the hillside behind. I couldn't live with them, they had some really terrible ways and I hated people using and taking away my things. I have no regrets since I moved out leaving them, we were now grown and have multiplied with children. So it was good when I decided to build my own house, in the future I hope to build a second story on top.
Me and them don't gree especially my sister, they always tried to use me and when things didn't go in their favour, they would curse and class me. My brother is the brokest taxi man I know and my sister tries to make mischief with me or anybody else any chance she gets. Her loud and vulgar cursing habits has caused a lot of people to not deal with us. The reason why we don't speak now is because of a fued she had with my children and that's where I draw the line. Don't fuck around my innocent children, whom should be protected even by my enemies.
"Mommy." Squealed Sydoney emerging onto the verandah.
"Good evening honey." I said as she opened the verandah grill for me.
My youngest son Rakeem came out and said "good evening mommy" and took my bag.
I went into the kitchen and saw Shion cooking. "Great." I said and she smiled. Tin mackerel and white rice with two fry dumpling from this morning's breakfast was for dinner, I thanked her encouragingly because she did not like to cook.
Alkaline's pov
I put down the sales book I was checking through, realizing that I wasn't concentrating. I took up my phone and scrolled to her wattsapp picture again. She and her four children were on her profile picture, I can't believe she is thirty six with four youths and shape so fucking sexy. Her complexion was smoothed and tone, pretty brown slimmers is my thing, but right now this black thick shorty have me a way. Mi affi fuck har I swear, she nice nuh bloodclaate, batty cock up and breast tan up. Di four pickney dem resemble har nuh fuck, dem caan hide at all.
My phone rang signalling my mother calling again.
"Yea mommy."
"What's going on?"
"Nutn, just dey here a run through the clothes store check book fi mek sure everything good."
"Oh, so Sariah leave a'ready?"
"Yea, long time mi drop har back a Half Way Tree."
"So yuh please with what she did?"
"Yea mon, rahtid mi ago tek up di rest a di clothes dem off a di line, u good though?"
"Yea mi a'right."
"A'right lata."
"Mmmhnm."
"Mi sey da woman yah doh Jah Jah, tsk, just a check up pon di housekeeper so. Tsk." I said to myself.
Mommy know mi sharp and she know di housekeeper look damn good. She did think it hard fi accept mi explanation for Sariah to come work for me. She wouldn't even gi mi di woman number, mi sorry but mi waan fuck her sexy housekeeper. Mi just fraid fi beg di pussy straight, she look and act so fucking descent. I went to take up my clothes off the line and heard my phone ringing.
When I was finished I looked at who was calling, it was one of my little friend I hissed my teeth maybe she want a fuck, but right now mi no feel like fi leave my yard. The phone beeped with a wattsapp message and I looked at it without opening it, same thing mi not even ago reply. I took up my phones and sales book, leaving the basket of washed clothes same place in the living room, I went upstairs bathed and went to bed by my damn self.
Sariah's pov
Walking back to the washroom I tried to avoid Ms. Charmaine's questioning, she asked me twice where did her son dropped me off on Saturday evening and I told her at my gate. It was strange why didn't she ask her son I thought irritably.
The Friday of that week he came to visit her by himself. He took her shopping but left before it was time for me to leave. When I was getting ready to leave I got a text message from him saying I should text him when I was leaving. So I text him that I would be leaving right now and he replied immediately saying ok.
I wish Ms. Charmaine a blessed weekend and left. When I reached near to the main road Earlan drove up to me. I was kind of surprised but got in awkwardly, I felt a bit nervous as I wondered about all this.
So I started a conversation. "I thought you had went home, is there something wrong?" I asked. He smirked and glanced at me. What the hell, was he flirting with me? I thought as I looked through the wind up window of the glass at the scenery we were sailing pass.
"How long does it takes you to do your shopping?" He asked when we reach near to town.
"Not long really maybe half an hour because I have to go to one or two wholesales." I replied, I should feel special yet I felt confused.
"And then you're going home to cook?" He asked conversationally.
"To be honest I don't really cook on Fridays, unless I had made preparations to fry or jerk chicken when I get home." I replied.
"Alright I'll see you tomorrow morning same place in Half Way Tree." He said.
"Ok cool, thanks for the ride and be safe." I told him hopping out from his car, which managed to gain a few attentions.
The next day he left an hour after we arrived at his house, saying he had something to take care of. I finished washing then went upstairs to start cleaning, it was beautifully designed and furnished and I loved it. I started from a small balcony leading out of an expensively furnished lounge, it wasn't dirty to be honest but I dusted, wiped and cleaned.
My phone rang from my apron pocket and I answered him.
"Hello?"
"Hey, would you like a chicken vegetable salad for lunch or a shrimp pasta?"
"Either one is fine thanks."
"Ok cool."
Did he treate all his housekeepers this way I wondered as I decide to clean his room before he returned. My phone rang again and this time it was his mother. Wondering what was wrong I answered the call on high alert.
"Pleasant good afternoon Ms. Charmaine."
"Hi Sariah, is Earlan killing you with work up their?"
"Ah, not really it's just his house is way bigger than yours.
"Ha ha ha ha, I bet he's standing over you giving out orders."
"Oh no, he has gone on the road for quite some time now."
"Oh ok, just checking on you, take care bye."
"Bye."
"Talk about suspicion." I murmured to myself, I shook off the feeling glad she didn't call about something pertaining to my work.
His bathroom was the size of my bedroom, intricately designed with the most modern luxurious comforts. I was vacuuming his bedroom carpet when I heard him drive in, I hurriedly finished minding the cameras but I was nervous to be in his personal space. I heard him came up the stairs after a while, when I started cleaning a room which looked like just a guess room.
"Uh, yuh naffi clean da room here babes, sorry mi never dey here fi show yuh what should be done up here." He said standing at the room door.
"Ohhh." I said on a sigh.
"Come eat di lunch still warm." He stated, I followed him down stairs and went to remove my apron then wash my hands.
He turned on the big tv in his living room and sat on one of the couches, browsing through the channels. There was only one food on the kitchen counter, but I still asked if it was mines. While I ate I heard him hissed his teeth in frustration about five times as he watched an entertainment station. I could only manage to eat half of the shrimp pasta salad because it was a lot, I drank all the fruit juice though.
"Was the lunch ok?" He asked strolling into the kitchen, he went to a cupboard and took out a bottle of water.
"Yes it was, thanks," I replied.
"No problem." He said and began drinking the water.
I took out my phone from my pocket for something to do. "Tell yuh boyfriend yuh soon come home come cook di soup." He said and I raised my eyes to look at him.
"What would a grown woman like me be doing with a boyfriend?" I asked him, he looked at me with his big eyes and I looked back at him. I knew he was trying to flirt with me or something, why I would like to know.
"Ok, I guess only di youths dem then, a wha kind a soup u ago boil?" He asked looking outside the kitchen window.
"You should start wearing your pants further up on your waist before you ask me about what kind of soup I'm going to cook." I said looking at his pants.
Putting down the bottle of water on the counter, he drew it further up on his waist and came to stand in front of me.
"What kind of soup are you cooking later this evening Sariah." He asked with a straight face.
"Will you wear your pants properly from now on? Or just to find out that I won't be cooking any soup this evening." I asked and replied with a straight face. He pursed his thick lips and looked at me.
"I personally think you would look so much better with your pants where it's at right now, especially when you're performing." I told him not completely sure how he would take it.
"Normally mi would a tell off smady else, but because a you mi ago tek yuh advice." He said calmly.
"That's good because I'm being brutally honest." I told him staring back into his eyes.
"Do you have any more advice to give me?" He asked.
"Yes." I replied.
He looked into my eyes awaiting me to speak further, but I was sweating him.
"What are the other advices." He queried.
"I'll give them to you at the appropriate time." I told him.
He looked away from me apparently in thought. Two could play a game and I planned to beat him at his, he's young and I know I'm attractive. I wasn't frightened or willing to sell myself short because of his status or amassed wealth. I got up from the counter and went for my apron and gloves, he was leaning against the kitchen counter when I came out from the washroom where I leave my things.
"Could you show me what else you need me to do upstairs?" I asked and he marched off ahead of me.
My heart beat a little hard in my chest and I decided I wasn't coming back here to work the next Saturday. I followed him upstairs and his phone started ringing, he placed it unto a side table angrily hissing his teeth.
"Yuh did tidy in here already?" He asked walking into the lounge.
"Yes I did." I replied.
"Ok just gi di floor a good wipe and then yuh finish." He said then walked off into his room.
Shit is he throwing a tantrum? I mused, gosh the media would love this but I'm uncomfortable. I wiped the floors and then went downstairs to see what was dry on the line, I took up the basket with his dried clothes and put it close to his room door. After that I went and wiped the living room and front steps, then the kitchen and washroom. He came downstairs to the washroom, where he saw me wiping and turned away. After I was finished getting ready I didn't know where he was, I looked outside and saw him walking through his garden. So I walked towards him and said.
"I'm sorry if I upset you earlier, I'm ready to go."
He didn't look at me he just continued to stand there with his back to me. He was so different from what the media profess. It's a good thing I've learned to see people in a different light than who the media has them as. I held unto his hand and gave it a little squeeze and he looked down at me.
"Mi know yuh no stupid, yuh know sey mi want yuh." He said quietly.
"No yuh don't, by time one a yuh likkle friend come check yuh, yuh will feel different." I told him boldly.
He laughed softly. "So you are also a prophetess?" He asked mockingly.
I looked up at him and he dipped his head kissing me firmly on my lips, I was at a loss or maybe it was just surprise why I stood there dumbfounded. He pulled me closer to him and I pray the flowers were hiding us from any paparazzi that may happen to be about. He lifted my chin with his long slender finger and deepen the kiss, but he wasn't doing it properly. I may truly regret this but I took control and kissed him tongue stroking, lips molding exploring his mouth and sucking erotically on his bottom lip. When I broke the kiss for breath, we were both breathing hard.
My heart hammered within me and I hope he couldn't hear it, what was I doing I asked myself, he was too young for me and he was a player. As a dancehall entertainer he was way out of my leaugue and I wasn't in need of a quick harmone release, neither do I wish to add to his passed through list. I pulled away from him and walked quickly back into the house. It was just three thirty, but I wanted to go home now. I collected my bag and phone from the small table in the living room and went to stand outside the side door.
All his cars were parked at the back in a stylish garage, even the black one he had been driving earlier. I stood there biting on my bottom lip nervously and ashamed of myself for not exercising better control. He drove a very expensive jeep from the back and stopped near my feet, came out and locked the side door. He then opened the passenger side of the vehicle for me to get in and I lowered my eyes while I passed him and got in. The drive was silent until he drove around the Harbour View round a bout and I asked him.
"Where are we going?" Without answering he continued to drive along the Palisadoes road that led to airport and Port Royal. He took hold of my left hand and my heart leapt, I hate feeling like this insecure, vulnerable, out of my depth and beyond uncertain. When we reached to where some other vehicles were parked near to the Norman Manley international airport, he parked furtherest from them facing the bushes and dropped back his seat a little. He took a pouch off the back seat and hand me a small envelope, placing back the pouch unto the back seat he sat back and began to say lowly.
"Mi want yuh, mi don't know why other than yuh look good and mi admire yuh. Squeeze mi ina yuh life."
I look out the window and said. "I don't need a one or two night stand, I'm way too old for you and I don't want anything that will mess with my profession."
"All yuh a tell mi right now is just a bag a excuse, yuh know mi nuh walk dung woman and yuh mek mi a walk yuh dung right now." He said in the same low tone.
"I don't see you walking me down we are sitting here in your jeep." I murmured.
"Where yuh see yuhself five years from now?" He asked after a few moments.
"Having my bachelors degree in business, owning a restaurant, running a fleet of taxi, but I think those are too simple or low for you." I told him.
"Yuh selling yourself short?" He asks.
"No I'm telling you that we are from two different walks of life." I replied.
"I don't see the difference." He interjects.
We were now facing each other and he leaned over and started to kiss me and the idiot that I am started to kiss him back. I leaned against him as we catch our breaths, my head was reeling in confusion at what I'm doing, while I listened to his laboured breathing, after we kissed and kissed and kissed. He took me home finally with my lips swollen from all the kissing we did, it was kind of hard to part ways and he crawled the jeep to my gate.
"I'll call you later." He said.
"Ok drive safe." I told him as I exit his jeep.
