Battle Task #3 Mirror Mirror

Cheers erupted from the arena. The Dragon Claw members slinked to their box. Exhaustion rushed through their veins. Looking out from the guilds competitor box, Razor dropped into a chair. The events of the day pulled at his mind. The octomer grabbed his head trying to rid it of the clown and his other fears.

Standing from his seat, he turned to open the door. The knob moved on its own. Razor moved back towards the girls. Swinging back on their hinges, the doors revealed a centaur standing behind them. "Bernard!" The girls cheered.

Deep chuckles resonated through his chest. "I'm happy to see you too." Artemis flew towards him wrapping her arms around him. "I missed you too." He chuckled once more. Smiling, Artemis flew back to her seat to watch the events.

Cordila took a step towards Bernard, "We're glad to see you back..." Her shoe caught in the line of stone beneath her. Feeling herself starting to fall, she flailed her arms. Reaching out, Razor grabbed her left arm. Spinning her, he pulled her over to him. He dipped her back like they were at a magical ball. Smirking, Miyuki went behind him hand pushed him into her. Razor and Crodila's lips meet.

Crodila's face turned a bright red from his actions. Pulling away, Razor looked her deep in her eyes. "Sorry, I didn't mean...." Without letting him finish, Crodila covered her mouth and rushed out of the room. The mermaid hurried down the hall to the bathroom. Razor sighed and turned to Miyuki, "What was that for?"

"I don't know what you're talking about," Miyuki smirked.

Artemis rolled her eyes. "Come one let go check on her." Miyuki simply nodded before running after her. Once they arrived at the bathroom, they found Cordila leaning over a sink washing her mouth out. "So, how do you feel about kissing Razor?" The neak cooed. Water dripped off her chin as she picked her head up to glare at her.

"Yeah, I didn't know you and Razor were an item." Miyuki snarked.

"We are not together!" Cordila yelled at last.

"Be honest. Do you love Razor?" Artemis asked with laced sweetness in her voice.

Sighing, the mermaid looked into the mirror. Mermaids are know for their good voices. She thought know was a good time to show her's. "Well," She said at last, "It goes something like this." Opening her mouth, she began singing a sweet melody to her friends:

'If there's a prize for rotten judgement,

I guess I've already won that

No man is worth the aggravation

That's ancient history, been there, done that

Who d'you think you're kidding

He's the earth and heaven to you

Try to keep it hidden,

Honey we can see right through you

Girl you can't conceal it

We know how you're feeling

Who you thinking of

No chance no way I won't say it, no no

It's too cliche I won't say I'm in love

I thought my heart had learned its lesson

It feels so good when you start out

My head is screaming "Get a grip girl

Unless you're dying to cry your heart out

Girl you can't deny it

Who you are is how you're feeling

Baby we're not buying

Hon we saw you hit the ceiling

Face it like a grown-up

When you gonna own up that you got got got it bad

No chance no way I won't say it, no no

This scene won't play I won't say I'm in love

You're way off base I won't say it

Get off my case I won't say it

At least out loud I won't say I'm in love'

The girls exchanged glances with a giggled. Hugging each other, they left the bathroom. They headed towards their booth to find out who was the next competitors. The sound of running feet echoed through the halls. Black Dragon members were rushing past them. Reaching out, Miyuki stopped Banjo.

"How is Kyren doing?" She asked with worry in her voice.

The male shook his. "We're on our way there now. We'll let you know if we hear anything." With that, he ran to rejoin his guild.

Sighing, Miyuki looked around. The girls had left her. Huffing, she ran back to her booth and threw open the doors. Walking in, she had half a mind to yell at them, however, the guild master was there talking to Bernard. Chuckling, Ruko turned towards the elf. "I was wondering where you were."

"Yeah, yeah." She huffed.

Roku turned towards Bernard once more but was interrupted by the speakers announcing a fight between Dragon Claw and Iscariot Sin. The guild master turned towards the centaur. "Do you think you could compete for us?"

Smiling, Bernard bowed out of respect. "It will be my honor."

"I want to compete, Father!" Artemis chirped.

Bernard chuckled. "I'll be honored to fight by your daughter's side."

"Then it's decided. Good luck to the both of you. Do our guild proud!"

Hovering over to the centaur, Artemis giggled. She sat on his back with her legs crossed like a princess. Bernard shook his head then headed to the arena. Entering the arena, they noticed a building was resting in the middle. The Mc expected that inside where Mirrors. "Sounds like fun!" Artemis cheered.

Flapping her wings, Artemis flew off of his back. The neak flew up the room. She peered inside. Inside the shell of the building that was shaped as a hexagon, she noticed the floor was paneled with mahogany wood. The walls were likewise. Glancing around the room, she noticed there were hallways jolting out on the sides. Mirrors were lined up neatly on the walls, and from where she was flying, down the walls also.

Flying back to Bernard, she grinned. "It looks amazing in there!"

Out of the corner of her eye, she watched as two women from Iscariot Sin joined them on the field. One was a sun elf named Sylva following close behind was a woman with her mouth covered by a bandana. She was named Braith. Artemis waved to them. The sun elf hide behind her companion.

Braith on the other hand waved back. Once the four came face to face, Bernard smiled. "Looks like we are fighting in a house full of mirrors."

"Sounds like fun." Braith said with a hint of sarcasm.

"Ladies first." Bernard gestured towards the door. Without another word, the two girls disappeared inside. Bernard and Artemis exchanged glances. She figured they were nervous like they were. Dragon Claw followed the members inside. Once they entered, they found the other two had vanished.

The gong rang out for the competition to start. Artemis faced Bernard. The centaur nodded. With out a word, Artemis flew down one of the corridors searching for the others. Turning a corner, the neak grinned. She saw Braith in the mirrors. Their eyes meet. Artemis felt her smirk underneath her scarf before taking off once more.

Artemis followed in hot pursuit. The human came to a stop. Her reflection was in multiple mirrors at once. Artemis turned around staring at the glasses. She watched as Braith held up her left hand with runes inscribed on the back. Squinting her eyes, she tried to read the letters. Before she could make out the first letter, Braith vanished.

Before she could glance around the room, she was struck numerous places from behind. Artemis grunted with each hit. She took a step forward. Looking behind her she gritted her teeth. No one was there. Braith appeared in front of her. Peering upwards, she noticed her figure in the mirror. Grabbing her rune necklace, she covered her arms and hands in scales.

Braith disappeared once more. Artemis thought of flames encasing her talons. She looked around for Braith but all she saw were her images in the glass. The magi raced passed her quickly delivering hit upon hit. Artemis closed her eyes. Using her heightened senses, she began to hover towards her. Braith moved in time to receive a evade a hit from Artemis.

Smirking, Artemis ran her claws down her leg. Braith fell the floor from the sudden burst of pain. Shaking it off, she rolled to a stop then jumped back to her feet. Her hard gaze meets Artemis. The neak flew towards throwing punches. Braith evades each punch. An explosion echoed from the other side of the wall. Both girls stopped their advancements.

Flames shot out from the cracks in the wall. Artemis wrapped her wings around her body for protection. The wood panes shot out. A centaur wearing a quiver hit the next wall with his back falling next to Artemis. "Bernard!" She shouted. Her voice laced with fear.

Rolling on to his feet, the centaur smiled. "Don't worry, I'm fine. A little sore, but nothing I can't tolerate." Nodding, Artemis watched as she rose to his hooves. A sun elf peeked out from behind the rubble starring intently at him. Laughter rumbled within his belly. "I feel like we are perfectly matched." He chuckled.

Artemis started flying once again. Braith appeared next to Syliva. Bernard pulled out another arrow, nocking it to his string. "Let get this over with." He pulled the bow back as he spoke. Artemis could tell that his shoulder pained up, yet he does what he must. Pushing a button on his arrow, he shot the arrow off. Syliva and Braith dodged the projectile.

The arrow with blew fletchings soared through the air. Impacting the ground, the arrow shot out a tornado. Braith dodged by running back to the room where Dragon Claw was waiting for her. Syliva, on the other hand, was small enough that she was swept away about the vortex and thrown into the next the room. The sun elf cried out unexpectedly as she hit the floor.

Pulling out another arrow, Bernard chuckled. The sun elf jumped to her feet also pulling out an arrow. Bernard shot off an arrow with purple fletchings. Glowing, it divided into three more arrows. The sun elf rolled out of the way. Artemis smirked as she dashed forward towards the elf. Braith got in her way stopping her on impact.

Artemis slammed into her not being able to stop in time. The neak threw punches. Braith evaded them each time. Artemis gritted her teeth in frustration. Bernard shot an arrow at Braith. She dodged once again. Artemis grabbed her rune necklace. Her manthos drained as she went full neak.

Braith stood before her. Artemis smirked, she had seen her type of magic. Before Artemis could get another hit in. Braith disappeared. Bernard quickly aimed for blank air and released an air. A wave shot out making her reappear and knocking her back. The sound waves canceled her concentration magic.

Syliva shot off an arrow that released electrical charge. Artemis got in the way to block the attack. Artemis dashed forward ready to strike. Syliva shot of more arrows. Artemis' scales keep the arrows from penetrating. Before the Either side could get another hit in, the gong rang loudly singling the end of the fight.
