Two Days Later
Third Persons POV.
"You're doing great baby...just hang in there...you'll be perfectly fine, okay?" Lora said to the unconscious Kyle, holding his hand.
"You know, I just...this just made me think so much about everything...I-I'm sorry I haven't always been here for...for you, and I-I'm s-sorry that I'm always on buiessness trips or at work, and I just...I'm sorry I haven't been a good mother to you....but I'm going to try, okay? I really am going to try my hardest, I just...after your dad went to jail I...it's hard doing this alone, you know? I'm trying so hard to give you everything you want and more, but it's just so hard. I wish I could give you more. I wish I could get another job, but having two is hard, and I'm sorry. I'm sorry about everything. And I love you very much, you're my entire world, you're my little baby and I've been such a poor mother lately. But I'm going to try..for you Kyle, I'll do my best"
Lora said quietly, even though he can't hear.
She rubbed her thumb along the top of his hand and looked at his peaceful face. She smiled slightly at the sight, letting her memories with him flood inside her head.
Her and Kyle...and of course, Dylan.

(Flashback)
"Daddy! Daddy! Over here!" 6 year old Kyle shouted, pointing to a piece of paper he had drawn on.
Dylan smiled at him as he made his way over from the kitchen to the living room.
"What's up, buddy?" He said; crouching down to be next to his son.
"Look!" He said, pointing to the picture of two stick figures made of purple marker and a pencil.
"You my friend, are an incredible artist! Van Gogh would be so impressed" he said, smiling at the messy picture.
"What's a fan go?" He asked, curiously. Dylan shook his head fondly at him, and chuckled.
"Van Gogh was an amazing artist, such as yourself" he said, kissing his forehead.
Kyle giggled and proceeded to draw on little details. Dylan smiled at him for a few seconds more before standing back up and walking back to the kitchen, where Lora was walking as well from their bedroom.
"Hey, honey?" Lora said as she walked in. Dylan glanced at her and smiled slightly. "Mmhm?" He murmured, beginning to prepare a sand which for Kyle.
"I...I uh, who's Carol?" Dylan froze. But he kept his cool and continued.
"Hmm?" He asked, playing dumb.
"You had some, flirtatious texts from someone named Carol?" She asked again.
"Huh? Must be the wrong number. You can delete the contact if you want" he said, shrugging. Lora nodded slightly, but still had the concern on her shoulders.
Dylan noticed, and stepped away from the counter and went over to her and grabbed her hands.
"Don't worry, Lor. Nothing is going on. I promise" he said softly. She smiled and nodded, buying it that time and then went over to Kyle where she looked at his pictures.
He let a sigh of relief come out as she walked to the living room.
"That was close" he mumbled as he proceeded to make the lunch for Kyle.

(Flashback)
One year later.
"Hey, KyleBear? I need to have a chat with you" Lora said to the now 7 year old Kyle, as he played on his leappad.
"Yes, mommy?" He asked curiously, putting it down and changing his focus to her.
Lora gulped as she began to speak.
"Um...you see, daddy isn't going to be here anymore" she said. Kyle cocked his head slightly and squinted his eyes.
"Why?" He asked. Lora sighed and inhaled deeply before continuing. "He uh, he did something bad, so now he's going to be somewhere for a long time to...to uh, pay his punishment" she said, softly.
"What did daddy do?" He asked, beginning to feel sad at the absence of his father. "He did something really bad, and we, um, we're not going to be together anymore. But we both still love you just the same, we just, we don't uh, we don't love each other anymore" she said, attempting to stop herself from crying again.
"Why don't you love dad anymore? What did he do to you?" He asked. "I, I can tell you when you're a little older, but don't worry KyleBear. Everything will be okay, yeah?" Kyle nodded slowly, processing this entire conversation.

(Flashback)
Three years later.
"See you tomorrow, string bean." Kyle said, before hanging up the phone with Norabella. But the entire week he couldn't help but think about questions that were left unanswered. He sighed as he stood up from his bed and went to his mothers room where he knocked lightly on the door.
"Come on in!" She said, Kyle walked in and jumped on her bed, she giggled and set her iPad down.
"I have something to ask you" he asked nervously, fidgeting with his hands as he sat.
"Are you alright?" She asks, noticing his concern. He shrugged and shook his head.
"Why uh, why did you and dad get divorced? I know he went to jail but...you told me a few years ago that you didn't love him anymore?" He asked nervously, avoiding her gaze.
Lora sighed, she knew this conversation was going to come up
"I...your dad...your dad cheated on me" Lora said. Kyle looked up at her with shock.
"He...what?" Kyle asked, upset and confused. Lora opened up her arms, making Kyle scoot over to her.
"Your father was with another women while he was with me." she said quietly. Kyle was silent for a few minutes.
"I'm sorry" Kyle said placing his hand on hers. Lora felt her eyes watering, but blinked them away.
"It's okay...you know it isn't your fault, this is just how things are meant to be. And I have you, and you're all I need KyleBear" she said. Kyle smiled and gave her a kiss on the cheek before hugging her tightly.
"You'll always have me" Kyle said.
"Always" he whispered.

(Still in flashback sorry)
One day later.
"I'll get it!" Joey shouted, after the doorbell rang. He opened the door and smiled at Kyle.
"Why, hello there sir" Joey said, opening the door wider for him to come in.
"Hi captain. Permission to go aboard?" He asked, saluting. Joey chuckled and shut the door behind him.
"Permission granted. I think she's having a tea party" he said. Kyle smiled and gave Joey a curt nod before jogging to Norabella's room and knocking on the door.
"Come on in, sweetheart!" She shouted from behind the door. Kyle rolled his eyes, but giggled as he walked in.
"How was work, dear?" She said, sarcastically. "Boy am I beat, Bill gave me 800 pages of paperwork!" Norabella gasped dramatically.
"Oh geeeilliker! I think we need to open up a bottle of 'adult water'!" She said, Kyle giggled and sat down in the chair in front of here.
"What's wrong?" She asked, sensing the sad tension around him.
Kyle felt himself from but didn't allow himself to cry in front of her.
"Hey, hey come here." She said, standing up and going to her bed where she sat down.
Kyle sniffed quietly but followed her and sat next to her.
"Talk to me" she begged after a few silent minutes.
"So, you know how my dad went to jail?" He asked, rubbing his left eyes. She nodded a few times and put her hand over his.
"Well, I always wondered why my mom divorced him before he even went, and it's because my dad cheated on my mom" he said.
Norabella frowned slightly too and out both of her arms around him.
"I'm sorry...your mom doesn't deserve that" she sad, rubbing her hand up and down his back.
"I-I know, and that's why I'm sad. She works so hard but doesn't get anything in return, except stupid old me" he said. She pulled back and stood up from the bed and gestured her hand out for him to take. He sighed, but grabbed her hand and followed her to her wardrobe where a large mirror was attached to the side of it.
"You're not stupid. Look at the mirror" she said, Kyle sighed but looked into his eyes.
"I don't know what you see, but I see an amazing boy who is really smart and very nice!" She said, smiling slightly at Kyle. Kyle didn't reply, just sniffed again.
"And, I see someone who is very caring and very amazing. And a boy who gives great hugs and great advice"
She added, Kyle smiled slightly.
"Hey...repeat after me" she said. Kyle squinted his eyes slightly, but nodded.
"I am an amazing guy and my mom is very lucky to have me as a son!"
Kyle giggled quietly, but repeated
"I am an amazing guy and my mom is very lucky to have me as a son" she smiled and patted his shoulder.
"There. You can say it to yourself, because you know it's true. You're a great son, and you're not stupid. And you're even a better best friend!" She said. Kyle smiled widely and hugged her.
"Are we still going to get married when we're 25?" He asked curiously.
"Eh, probably. But if I meet someone cuter I'll probably go for them" she joked, Kyle giggled.
"Promise me when we start our first day of elementary school next week, that we won't fight at all because I don't know how I could survive without you by my side" she asked, Kyle smiled and nodded.
"I promise" he said. Norabella smiled again and they both walked back to her tea party table.

End of flashback
(Current time)
Lora stayed in her seat until one of the machines attached to a wire that was hooked up to Kyle began beeping and flashing a small red light.
Lora's heart quickly started beating faster at the sight of Doctor Matt and three other nurses run in.
"The oxygen level is going down." One of the nurse said loudly, beginning to click buttons on the machine.
"Ma'am, please leave the room for a minute" one nurse said, guiding her quickly out of the room. Before Lora could even process what had just happened, the door was closed.
And all she could hear was a long and loud beep coming from inside her sons hospital room.
