Two lovers wooing, vowed to bind

their lives together, yet one, fearful, doubted.

"We are different as Autumn and Winter,"

said he, heart sore, fearing what came between.

"Autumn and Winter are ever twain,

as Night and Day, and East and West."

She laughed, and smiled kindly, loving him more

despite, or because(?) of his heartfelt fears.

"Autumn and Winter are always two, yet meet as one,

for Autumn ne'er comes to fullness 'cept in Winter's arms.

"Winter takes all the cares of Autumn

and gives them rest, till Winter melts."

His heart grew calm and rested at her words,

doubts fluttering away like Autumn leaves.

As Autumn joins with Winter, merging forever,

the lovers wooed and vowed to bind.
