Cat and Mouse (Achievement #68 = 10 points)

The cat caught one big, fat, grey mouse,

and, under the sofa, ran.

The big brown dog barked loudly,

very loudly, you understand.

The woman jumped when the cat

laid the whiskery grey mouse before her hand.

"Another gift," she cried, "Kitty loves her family!"

But this 'gift', too, will rest within the trash can.

She grabbed napkins and dropped them,

covering mousie for she had the plan.

Broom swept the rodent away

into the waiting dustpan.

The trash can accepts the bundle

and shuts the lid with hearty bang.

'That's over,' the woman relaxed too soon,

for kitty goes hunting again.
