Silence.

That's all there was as Ace drove you home.

You both wanted to say something but didn't know what to say and the silence was choking you. You still didn't know how he felt about you but that seemed like the least of his problems now.

You got sucked from your thoughts as he pulled into your driveway and parked. You reached for the door handle but he stopped you, grabbing your wrist. You turned towards him as he rested his forehead on your shoulder and closed his eyes. You blushed as his hot breath hit your neck.

"I'm sorry (y/n)"

"Don't be, it's not your fault" you said with a blush.

Ace opened his eyes and looked into yours, moving his hand from your wrist to your hand, bringing it to feel his beating heart.

"I know you want an answer from me. But I feel too guilty to even be near you."

You brought a hand up to cup his cheek.

"Ace, I didn't die. I'm right here. I just wanna forget about the accident and move on...please. You don't have to give me an answer but just don't feel like you owe me something when you don't. Forget about the accident for me."

Ace nodded and leaned into your touch.

"Can you tell me about the other me?"

"Is that a good idea?"

"Please...tell me everything."

You blushed and thought to yourself, starting to tell him about your first kiss.

"We were out eating lunch one day at my favorite cafe. Other you loved to spoil me. You never let me buy anything." You said with a smile. "After lunch it started raining and we were walking home that day. You said something along the lines of 'it would be so cheesy to kiss in the rain' and I said 'yeah it would'. I pulled you into the rain and we kissed."

Ace blushed as he listened to your story. He tilted your head up to face him and leaned in, ghosting his lips over yours. He gave you a chance to pull away and when you didn't he leaned in and-

KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK

"Hey, Freckles! Don't you dare try to get into my daughters pants!" Shanks glared at the boy through his car window.

You blushed and pulled away from Ace and he smirked at your dad. "Chill old man. I wouldn't do that to her unless she wanted it"

You blushed even more and punched his arm.

"Ace!"

Ace looked at you and chuckled, your dads face fuming red with anger. "You know I'm joking. But I don't think he does. I should probably go."

"Yeah, be safe" You kissed his cheek before getting out with a smirk on your face, leaving Ace a blushing mess.

Ace watched Shanks guide you into your house. "Gosh that woman is gonna kill me"

LATER THAT NIGHT

You were sitting at your desk, reading a book until you heard your phone ding.

'Open your window'-Ace

You blushed and went to your bedroom window, opening it to see Ace in a tree.

"What the hell are you doing?!"

"I wanted to see you"

"Ok, but climbing the tree is dangerous!" You quietly yelled at him.

"You know, if you really want a reason to scream I can give you one~" Ace teased with a smirk.

You blushed madly and started to shut the window but he stopped it, lifting it and sitting on your windowsill.

"Nice try, Princess"

You sighed and went back to your desk to read. Ace rested his head in his hand and watched you. "Well this is boring, and here I thought I'd get a welcome kiss~"

You blushed and shut your book and turned your chair towards him. "And what made you think that?"

Ace smirked and tapped his cheek.

"Well, I got a goodbye kiss, didn't I?"

"So you came all the way here for a kiss or just to piss off my dad?" You blushed and crossed your arms.

Ace walked into your room and looked around with a shrug. "Maybe both"

You pouted and watched him.

"I don't understand you sometimes."

Ace gave you his devilishly handsome smirk and walked over to you, resting his hands on your desk, trapping you in your chair.

"Really? I figured you'd understand me more than anyone~"

"Wow, you came all the way here just to tease me?"

"I'm just curious"

"About?" You asked, watching Ace sit on your desk.

"Us. During your 5 years in a coma, how long did it take for us to date?"

"A year. We dated for 1 before we lived together for the last 3. Pretty sure the day I woke up you were going to propose. We were going out to dinner you planned and you told me it was a surprise."

Ace frowned and stared at the ground seriously for a bit. He liked you but still felt bad about everything he learned. He didn't know if he could live up to your expectations of him. How can you love him?

"I can't believe Sabo and Koala never told me..."

"Honestly me too."

You two looked at each other with soft smiles. Ace grabbed your chin and leaned in to kiss you again. To his disappointment, your door slung open, causing him to groan and glare at your dad.

Shanks glared back.

"Sorry to cock block you Ace but...GET OUT OF MY DAUGHTERS ROOM!"

Ace sighed and climbed back out your window, winking at you. "Cya later!"
