Abnormal

"Gentlemen, the reason I called you here is because Miss Larksburrow is quite oblivious to abnormality and no one can explain better than yourselves."

"Ah so the rumors are true , she is uninformed." Said one of the men with a slight foreign accent. He bent low and looked me in the eye, I felt uncomfortable his eyes seemed to not gaze at me but through me as if he were reading words engraved in my soul. "It is hard to explain, it is like explaining the differences between color of skin or gender, in our hearts we are all the same it is just the way we look and the things we do that set us apart." Now his accent was clearly Russian though Russia had been a barren abandoned place for centuries and the people and history of the land was all forgotten and after time it became just " the empty country ". "However there are people who are different from most, people who have abilities beyond imagination that can frighten those who are incapable, so what do they do? Lock them up, build devices to suppress their gift, devices to control them. People hate feeling helpless and do everything in their power to feel control and they blame us for their unease." I took a moment to let the words sink in and after a long silence I finally spoke.
"I am very sorry for these people but I don't see how this involves me?" The room filled with sighs and rolling of eyes. The other man cleared his throat and asked for silence.

"Grisha your words twist and and turn and it is impossible for the girl to understand." This man was most definitely an American man he seemed to be from the legends of cowboys with a leather hat and gun on his belt an ancient weapon once deadly, but became obsolete many years ago few even exist at least authentic ones. "Listen kid, what Grisha is trying to say is you are one of those people. But that's not the reason you are here, thing is you are the only one that can get us outta this mess." The words sent my head roaring with questions and curiosity I had never even heard of these people let alone known I was one, and what powers did I possess? How was I going to be the savior when I could barely walk in of the building without being sick? Finally Augustus spoke drawing the attention away from my head.

"It's a lot to process I'm sure but it's better to find out know then to start levitating in the middle of town. It usually takes a couple of hours to let it sink in so until you are ready to talk with us you may stay in where we call the hiding place. Grisha will you escort our guest to your home?"

"Of course sir." He said and offered his hand in which I placed mine and with all the energy I could muster I arose. He led me down the hall silent except for the sound of his boots meeting the floor, in other circumstances I would of tried to be polite and converse but no words would seep from my dry mouth. Suddenly we stopped in front of a door rotten, old, it seemed out of place amongst the elegant walls and crystal chandelier. He pulled a key from his pocket and inserted it into the keyhole with click the door unlocked. The door creaked and groaned as it opened.

"Welcome to my humble abode." Said the man, and humble it was with only a candle to illuminate the room ,a table and a chair with a rug placed upon the dirt floor it was even poorer then my home. Home. The thought crept into my mind what would they think happened to me, would they think I was dead? Probably they must have been so depressed. The man pulled out a chair, I slightly smiled to show I was grateful even if I couldn't express it verbally, and sat in the chair. I stared the cracklings fire, and thought of what would happen next.
