Chapter Four

"Deku !"

The man turned his head and looked at the woman behind him."What's up ?" He then gave Ochaco a curiously glance as a dab of green paint covered the tip of her nose.

"Do you remember what we talked about last night ?"

"It wasn't even twenty-four hours ago, of course I remember."

Uraraka rolled her amber eyes and groaned,"You just can't say yes can you ?"

"Guess not."

"Anyways, I want to show you somethin' before you go so come on."

The man groaned as he stepped off the couch and stretched his arms. As Deku followed behind Ochaco he quietly muttered to himself,"I don't have enough time to stay around for long, maybe thirty minutes, but that's all I can do." As the man talked to himself he lost focus and bumped into Ochaco.

Uraraka turned around and pointed to the colorful wall in front of them."What do ya think ?"

Deku rubbed the back of his head and chuckled,"Uhhh, what exactly am I looking at ?"

"Is it not good," frowned Ochaco as she worryingly crinkled her nose.

"W-Wh-Wha-That's not what I was trying to say ! I-It's just can you explain it to me, cause obviously I'm just not picking up on something."

"Hmm, well I just figured you'd know the story it came from ?"

Deku inched closer to the wall and squinted as he tried to study Ochaco's more intently than before."I'm going to be honest with you, I am lost." Deku then pointed to a bush of green,"Is that broccoli ?"

"Pfft, that's not broccoli."

Deku took a step back and gave the painting another close examination."Oh ! That's a person." The man then looked at Ochaco and asked,"Is this some test where I tell you what's going on in this thing, or are you going to explain it ?"

Ochaco sat on the floor and rested her arms on her raised knees."Do ya remember how I told you my Daddy use to always tell me stories ?" The woman's guest gave her an affirmative nod."Well, this one comes from another one."

"Huh, that's different."

The brunette laughed at his wording,"Yeah, it is." She then began to play with her fingers."Every story he told me was about heroes, and that's why they've always entrance me. The Forgotten Gods was my favorite as a little girl, but as I got older he began to tell me this one. It is pretty straight forward, but if it is true, why couldn't I have been born sixty years ago ?" Uraraka gazed at her guest and let out laugh."God, I sound like a little kid right now don't I ?"

"Just a little bit, but that's a good thing."

Ochaco grinned,"We'll see if you're sayin' that after I explain everything." Uraraka then cleared her throat and stood up. The woman walked towards the tallest man on the painting and pointed to him."No-one knows what his name was, but he was the country's symbol of peace for years and did everything in his power to protect people with a smile. But as time went on the world began to grow darker and someone emerged to light the way, his name was Deku." The woman stared Izuku in the eyes as she uttered the last words."That's why deep down I never thought you were a bad person, because I was raised to believe that people were given names for a reason."

Deku's breaths grew slower as Ochaco continued to tell him the tale.

"People really didn't know much about the Deku guy, he really came out of nowhere. He was a mystery to everyone, but they could see somethin' about him, he cared for people. He worked with many of the heroes to try and keep the evil in the world at bay, but his heart wasn't just focused on his job." Uraraka stood on her tippy toes and pointed to a woman wearing a pink and black jumpsuit."My Daddy always said that there was a love behind every great hero's heart and he believed this woman was that to him. She was known as Uravity. She and Deku made up a powerful team of heroes that the government relied on to take down the country's worse villains." Ochaco's giddy expression then began to grow more somber."But the poor people didn't know what was really goin' on. On the teams last ever mission, they were betrayed by the very people they worked for and all of them died that night, except for Deku." Uraraka then walked away from the wall and sat down next on the floor to Deku." I know this sounds crazy, but like to think maybe that Deku guy is still alive and is tryin' to help people out." Ochaco quickly turned to the green-haired next to her and nearly shouted,"Not that I think you're him, you are definitely too young !"

Deku stood up and turned to walk out of the room, but he stopped a few steps out of it. The man turned around and confilct was flicering across his face. The man finally opened his mouth and said,"The blond guy's name was All Might."

"How do you-"

"Well I've got to get going Uraraka, and as much as I don't want to admit it, it was a pleasure."

.....

Ochaco laid in her bed and stared at the ceiling. Her fluffy dog laid on her stomach and looked up at her."What was it with that guy Kei ! He wa-was so...weird !" Uraraka then let out a sound of defeat."But I kinda wish he would've stayed a little longer ya know." Ochaco began to pet her animal's fluffy fur as she thought about the freckled faced man."He just didn't make any sense; how did he know those things about the stories I swore by my entire life ! I mean I'm suppose to be the one that knows about what it was like in the past when quirks were admired; not some wanderer who doesn't even know how to fix his hair."

.....

Ochaco sat on her bed and wiggled her lips; she felt lonely again. The woman rubbed Kei's small head and reached for the glass of water resting on her nightstand. As she picked up the cup there was a series of three loud bangs at her front door. Ochaco furrowed her brow in confusion and stood up to peer out of her blinds."It's the middle of the night; what is someone doin' out here ?"

Ochaco quickly ran down her wooden stairs and nearly fell into the front door. The woman stood on her toes and peered through the peephole on the door. She couldn't make out the faces of the men, but she could at least tell there was two of them. Uraraka cautiously opened the door and asked,"How can I help you ?"

The tallest of the two men men leaned to the side and looked over Ochaco's shoulder and slightly into the home. Uraraka put out an arm and placed her hand in the middle of the man's chest."What the hell do you think you're doin' ?" The man did not acknowledged her and instead turned to one of the men next to him.

"He has to be here, I can sense him."

A slightly shorter man pulled on the back of the stranger standing in front of Ochaco and took the lead. The man's hair was a dark brownish-red and his face's olive color was partially covered with a thick mustache. The man's voice was tender as he spoke."I'm sorry about my mate here; he just gets really invested in our craft. I believe what he was trying to ask was could we enter, so we could conduct an investigation."

Ochaco looked at the man's smooth suit and quickly realized he wasn't just any normal person."I'm goin' to politely decline." The woman then tried to close the door, but a hand got in the way.

The man's face had grown much harder and his voice was much more stern."I would recommend you let us in so thing don't have to get...physical."

"Is that a-"

The man pushed Ochaco to the ground and walked inside the home. The final intruder picked up Ochaco and held her over his shoulder as they began to scavenge through the house. Uraraka pounded on the man's back and shouted,"Put me down !"

"Stop it will you, before I have to knock you out cold !"

One of the men squatted down and intently looked at the floor,"He was here, but where did he go ?" The man pivoted to face Ochaco and questioned,"Did you house anyone recently ?"

"W-What is this about !"

The man holding Ochaco dropped her onto the floor without warning. The same man that shoved her onto the floor moments ago bent over and placed his face inches from her and spoke in a quiet whisper."I know he was here, so things would be a lot smoother, if you just told us the truth."

"Ain't no-one been in my house but me."

The man looking into her eyes licked his lips and let out a sigh."So that's how you want to play this, huh ? We'll make you talk then." The man standing behind Ochaco flew out of the front door and into the night. The man in front of Ochaco looked up and gazed at the green-haired man standing in the doorway.

"I told you I had places to be for a reason, but you just couldn't listen to me could you."
