Upon the new day
I look with dread
I simply lay
Upon my bed

Wondering how
It came to this
Thinking that now
It's worthlessness

Fighting the fear
That drowns me out
Wishing to hear
I'm not my doubt

Hoping that sleep
Will drive away
The lies that keep
The truth at bay

Knowing that still
I'll fight again
These fiends that will
Not let me win

For now I rest
Upon the dream
I'll pass the test
And be redeemed
