As I mentioned in the Foreword, I wrote this story back in 2022/2023 and only now thought of translating it out of fun. I honestly did not believe anyone would read it since the fandom is not what is used to anymore (sadly), but I was glad to see that some people found their way here ☺️

I don't remember how I came up with this story, it was a long time ago, back in 2018, but it has never left my mind. When I went through a romance book phase, literally reading one after another, it made me want to write one myself. That's when I found the old draft of this story and started writing. I had already worked out most of the plot (meaning the beginning, climax, and ending), but everything in between was still missing. Luckily, that came to me little by little as I wrote. For example, Hiccup originally wasn't of Russian descent, and Astrid's grandmother had no other reason for her behavior than being a bitter old woman. It's funny how things change when you just let the story take its own course ...

As it is now, it's by no means perfect. There are surely plot holes I've overlooked (or ignored because I'm too lazy to fix them), but honestly, it doesn't have to be perfect. I think I've managed pretty well to write a teen romance that entertains and draws you in.

It certainly is not the last story I'll write, and maybe some of you who have found me through this one will enjoy the others as well. I know it would make me happy to find fellow fans and book enthusiasts. So, at last, thank you for reading ❤️
