Her eyes widened within the moment of seeing the sticking end of a bolt exiting Denise's right socket. Never mind what she had said, but something that she had been dying for to return finally kicked back into gear. The assault rifle in hand had risen up right beside Rosita's as she trialed in front while Blake had taken her backside in hopes of covering all angles.
With the lot of them piling out in front in swarming like motion was it finally the given consensus that we would have to lower our weapons, and she was one of the first to do so. "Well...Hell." The man muttered, his eyes planted at Daryl and neither of them had even strayed so far as an inch to look around.
"You got something to say to me!?" The blonde man had shouted out, and Blake just simply narrowed her eyes towards him before glancing back up at Daryl.
"Daryl..." She whispered, and he hummed oh so lightly that no one had heard.
"...You gonna clear the air? Step up on that high horse? No. You don't talk much." With a nick of blondie's head did two of his men come over and pat the entire of us. But Blake simply looked one dead in eyes and spoke two words: "Watch it." He was younger, on account perhaps wasn't prepared for my cultivated soul reading stare.
After taking their weapons to the brim did she feel slightly relieved to not have the single pistol that stayed safe throughout the given time since Atlanta. Her state-issued pistol meant more than she would admit to.
"Still getting the hang of her...Kicks like a bitch, but—"
"I should've done it." The skip in Rory's heart had her nick her elbow into his ribs. Yes, please antagonize the fucking man. She thought, rather cutting to herself, but her inner mind had always been witty towards Mr.Dixon.
"Oh, what's that? Seriously, I didn't catch what you said." Don't do it, don't you fucking—
"I should've killed ya." And this man before the Survivors had simply replied with: "Yeah, you probably should've." Which tempted Blake to tilt her head, confused as to what was transpiring between them. But the fact that he had the bow, that god damn bow...It spoke in volumes, this was the guy from the burnt-out forest...
"...So here we are...Kind of begs the question, right? Who brought this on who?...I mean, I get that you'll just have to just take my word for this, but...She wasn't even the one I was aiming for." Blake had eventually blocked her daughter's viewing of the men before them all, her arm extending outward and Addie didn't compete to hide behind her.
"...Like I said, kicks like a bitch." Now the mother rolled her eyes, he's had the damn bow for how long and couldn't manage to do anything more than aim at the wrong head.
But just thinking of how close Addie was to Daryl or even herself in this case, it could've gone a hundred times worse had it been the forerunner...
"It's nothing personal. Look, this isn't how we like to start new business arrangements, but, well, you pricks kind of set the tone, didn't you?" The huff came from Blake now as she rose up her head just the tiniest bit more.
"What do you want?" Her growl had everyone in her group straighten their backs, perhaps it was the need of the agent to find her footing again, especially in this situation that drew the attention back onto her.
But now it just simply had the blonde stranger look directly at Blake. "I'm sorry darling, I didn't catch your name. I'm D, or Dwight. You can call me either..." She offered a smile as her eyes started to analyze what really happened to his face, no indication on Daryl's description claimed that his face was burned. It was deliberate, but how?
However she had yet to respond, making him itch further. Granted he had Eugene in his arms planted to the ground as a method of imprisonment and no way of getting out of the situation. "So? What's your name?"
"Blake, what do you want?" The brows rose on Dwight's face as it flickered between both her and Daryl.
"This is her...Ain't it?" Dwight continued to smile forward and nodded along, and Daryl in the instant regretted ever showing a picture of her and Addie to him. "Well Blake, it's not what I want. It's what you and Daryl, and the two other gals are going to do. You're going to let us into your little complex. It looks like it's just beautiful in there. And then you're going to let us take whatever and whoever we want. Or, we blow Eugene's brains out. Then the four of yours...I hope it doesn't come to that, really. Nobody else has to die." With attention solely on the couple, the simulations narrowing of either of their brows had Dwight breathe more forcefully.
He saw why these two were together instantly, which is why the idea of taking a few people rang in Daryl's mind to co-operate. Blake getting captured again by them wouldn't vote well for anyone.
The conversation continued through and through, however it had been Eugene's blatant reveal of Abraham just a few yard off in the distance, he had followed the group ever since they had taken capture of Eugene. But it confused the agent as she looked off into the distance, so while the leader of the group had ordered to investigate. It was up to Eugene to cause some sort of distraction.
As Blake was just itching to get a hold of the assault rifle again.
It happened all to fast for anyone to properly understand what came first, Eugene bitting Dwight's groin or Abraham firing the first shot. But in response to that, Blake had kneed down and held up her fallen rifle just as her instincts were begging her to do.
There was no option of freeze or flight, instead it was pure fight. As it was three aligned headshots as Daryl himself slashed the closest mans throat. Addie had fallen back with Rosita and hid behind the truck in question. "Stay here and don't move."
"But my mom is—" Addie had stopped talking within the instant as Blake had been right beside Daryl in defending them to the bridge.
In the thick of things Dwight called his men to fall back and rendered the Survivors to win another round with the Saviors. However in a fit of Dixon rage had his grab his fallen crossbow from the ground and attempt to run after them, had it not been for Blake's yell in warning, no other yell could've seeped through.
"Daryl! Stop!" She cheered, holding her rifle down in one arm as she offered her arm in an affectionate embrace.
"Don't you dare go after them..." She warned, and when his eyes looked at her in question to whether or not she was serious or joking. The instant they connected with her gaze, her mind clicked to Addie.
"Addie?!" She offered, rushing over towards the car in order to see how her daughter managed in the standoff. "Are you okay? Hun, did you—" The rambling of the madwomen was barely sufficed by the tackle her daughter had given her.
Rosita had been the one to come straight towards Eugene who had fallen in injury, but Blake couldn't pry herself from her daughter as they rose to their feet.
"Addie are ya—" She had started to cry into her mother's hold but nodded never the less. Blake had leaned down to her daughter's face and cupped her cheeks. "I need to check on Eugene...Hun I'll be right back." Daryl stood in awe as he watched his Rory suddenly break open her shell, rip off parts of her shirt and use it to secure the grazed wound that the man managed to get.
The young daughter watched in awe at the situation as all the adults managed to carry the man the rest of the way off the tracks and to the truck that had luckily still been there.
Course now they were without a member and an extra two were housed in the back as Blake attempted to make the best out of the situation and stop the bleeding. "How we lookin'?" Daryl asked, and Blake huffed and gritted her teeth.
"Step on the god damn gas man, there ain't no cops gonna check your speed nomore!" Abraham growled, Daryl had been hoping for her to speak up. But given the fact that she seemed to be more or less in the zone.
Addie had taken a walkie and shouted to whoever was at the gate to open it without the need for them to stop. The amount of questions and concerns rallied in the small device, but they would need all the help they could get all things considering. It was Rosita who had taken it from there, ordering any help to the infirmary because unfortunately they just lost their only doctor.
Abraham was the next best thing to extra hands Blake had at the moment, but with the unsettling amount of distance between them and the infirmary, she was worried...Not entirely, but it'd be better to get this bandaged up as well as give him painkillers, antibiotics...Anything really.
Addie was the first out of the truck as she rushed into the infirmary to grab a gury, course that had been the best the young girl could do since it took the given four adults to carefully shift. It had been a rush, for all the women involved as it was ordered being shouted left and right. But somehow, they managed to get the dosage right after Blake had taken strict guidance and an ample amount of guessing as the IV was injected into his system to eliminate the pain as well as prevent any further infection to occur.
Blake had stepped out of the room, taking down which medications had been and whereas she knew what was going to be asked of her. And as she looked up and around, to see the desk with piled high books and supplies she put her head into her hands as a quiet sob escaped her.
She had done so well in everyone's eyes, yet now was the only time to admit that she was afraid, of course she has been. She always has, even with Daryl, the proud papa bear.
Deep down he was praying for one day for her to wake up and be the same.
But she failed...Yet again.
"Mom?" Addie called out, confused as to why her mother left so suddenly after the commotion had calmed down. However if there was one thing about her, she could fake a smile for her daughter.
She turned a quick eye and pretended to write down the rest of the medication that they had collected, a simple enough task as well as giving her daughter something to practice her own writing on.
"Rick's coming..." That caught her attention, and so she left her daughter with an assigned task for the moment being while she rejoined the group of adults. Rosita had been the first to come near her, partly due to her getting away from Abe, but because she wanted to give more than the deserved praise at how she had done throughout the whole ordeal.
But it should come naturally!
That's what she wanted to scream over and over again through and through. Yet Rosita told the group how it was, as neither understood the fundamental of anything that they had occured.
"Bullet just grazed him, but it's a good thing we got him back when we did. Antibiotics we picked up could save him from an infection...Could save his life...You did good Blake." Rosita claimed once again, smiling off towards the women who more or less looked uncomfortable and out of place.
"Good, did good hun, should be proud." Abe nodded, but the childish ideals sprang in her mind as she found herself sitting in the corner. Closer to Daryl as he was elbow to knee just staying as silent as she.
"How ya holdin' up?" He whispered, but the voice carried as no one else was speaking at the moment. She nodded, still focusing on her hands and itching at the skin just before the nail. Something she picked up at the beginning of this transformation, and more than enough times did she get to the point of bleeding.
So it had been Daryl's larger hand to overlap her own, causing her to look towards him. And suddenly realizing that she missed his question did she nod. "I'm alright...I just—What if Addie—" Daryl gripped her hands not bothering to say anything more than a growl.
Rick soon found his way into the room, but there wasn't more he could say other than a loss and a reminder to put her name on the wall. It hurt Blake to think that is all Denise would get, but there wasn't much anyone could do at the moment. To remember the dead and forget the living isn't what they what she could become.
With that being said she leaned into Rosita's ear for a moment and said she was heading home. Daryl knew she needed a minute, but he's been giving her a lot of those as of late and perhaps today was the end of it.
However the mother was simply taking a shower as well as setting the tent in the backyard. It felt cool enough for a little fire and Daryl always had it prepared for squirrels, overall she was settled in quite nicely. Lying on her stomach was she getting lost in the waves and textures of the crackles in the pit completely disregarding Dixon coming out of the house to take a smoke and to brainstorm where she might've gone.
But there she was, in a tent and just watching the smoke rise up into the air.
He sighed, flicking away his half-smoked cig and walked on over. Course she was so invested with the flames that he stood half in front of her and half in the darkness, however when she huffed out and her eyes looked on up towards him she shrugged.
"Either go away or join me Dixon...Just don't stare." It was more than enough for him to slide in beside her, however instead of belly side down he simply leaned back as his palms kept him up.
His feet threatening to bun the rubber souls as he was far too closer. "Did I tell ya 'bout that one time Merle burned his shoe? Dumbass fell asleep in front of the fire and just woke up hollerin'...Sayin' shit that probably make his normal shit sound saint like." She cracked a smile, but he was in debate of whether or not it was because of Merle being mentioned or because of the story. But the second she leaned into his waist.
"Know ya were gettin' close to Denise Rory...M'sorry." She hummed closing her eyes. "Least you have that bow back, fuck that asshole." Was her damning offering, but Daryl grinned more so one ear than the other.
"Nice to see you back in the action tho, didn't want to get ya back like that." She shrugged, and when it was starting to get real quiet he assumed she had fallen asleep. But she simply slipped back into the motion of being lost in thoughts.
"Those were them...The Saviors. There's more of them...But how much more?" She pondered, and personally he had been too focused on Blake and Addie, even thinking of Denise's death caused him to lose sight of it. "Tell Rick later guess, we'll head back to Hill Top. They'll tell us." The women nodded and leaned in further to his sides. "When's the last time we just camped out?"
"What? The two of us? Dunno, if ya wanna go back that far Rory. But our lil campin' trip was when we was 'lone. Then at the farm, if ya wanna count that." She smiled, thinking about how easy it had been back then. But now her daughter was back in the picture.
"Wish we knew what we knew now back then."
"Ya we were just debatin' on killin' that asshole from a bar fight and now we're on missions to kill a damn outpost."
"For food." She reminded, looking up at him. So his arm wrapped around her laying frame and she hummed even further at the contact.
"Ya best be tellin' the truth when ya sayin' ya aight...Don't need ya fallin' back." She shook her head against his chest and leaned in closer. "I'm alright, it was a wake-up call...You know?" He growled quite lowly for her taste and so started to get on up, he didn't mind one bit, or perhaps he just wanted to hold her for a few moments longer, nothing out of the ordinary that the only person he could have gone for comfort is Rory.
Course Addie would give him hugs on a livelong day if she knew how much of a cuddle bear he truly is. But it was different with Rory, she was his other half, and when he finally had the chance to wrap his arms back around her and incase her ever so close.
And that is exactly what she needed.
Her forehead planted against his, her eyes closed while his stayed wide. Daryl's mind was swirling this way and that, he wanted revenge...But all he could think about was how Rory was pushing herself up and against him, as though she was starved all this time.
Dixon held little to no reigns as he continued through with her attempt as he found himself over her further in the tent. "You sure hun?...You—" She interrupted his question with a kiss, pushing upwards and dragging him down further. "Are you sure?" Her voice cracked, it had been a spur of the moment to ask him, as he was the one who would allow forgiveness.
She remembered vividly that the last time they had slept with one another was within the same timeframe of sharing the truth. But here, now? Daryl knew that this is the mother of his child, and for the first time in a long time did he finally feel settled with the idea properly.
He was entirely self-conscious on every bit of their relationship, hearing about Rick—even if he was the one that left, was still a difficult topic to get through. But nothing, nothing could stop his immense obsession with Aurora.
Returning the movement had issued a moan from the woman beneath him, and it settled the activities for that night. Nor did they need much of a blanket over their bodies with the roaring fire in front of them or the radiating heat that Daryl produced.
"I love you Pookie..." A crooked smile managed to rally it's way onto his face, his now relaxed and satisfied expression only tempted further with what he was thinking. He voiced his own endearment while confirming that they had indeed made love.
It was always lovemaking when Rory was involved.
"Do...Do you remember when we came back from Atlanta, and there were walkers at the Quarry?" Her voice was dripping with sleep, and all he could rightly do was hum his agreement. It had been such a long time ago, but it wasn't simply just shock of finding out who she was that's reviving his anger, it was how they grew that was taking over rather well.
"You covered me when I was trying to get to Addie..." Looking down to his girl did he smirk even further, something about this conversation pairing with her bare body against his was rejuvenizing.
But that didn't stop this unseasonable desire for revenge.
Not when Dwight threatened the two most important people in his life...

My semester is finally done and I can work on all my projects! I'm so excited:) I plan on getting to at least halfway through the 7th season before my winter break ends. Just trying to figure out if I want to keep writing in Blake's first-person POV or make the switch and stay in the third person.
