Edge and Colt arrived to talk ideas.

"Ok. So we all know Axel is the scary one. And we know Axel and Edge both change weapons. So what are you guys gonna use?" Asked Colt.

"Riptide FTW!" Said Axel.

"I guess I'll take the Splatbrella and protect mister rockstar." Said Edge.

"Bro, you know I don't need protecting." Said Axel.

"Eh. And I know you get hit 10 times as much when using the riptide." Said Edge.

"Oof. You right mate, you right." Said Axel.

"Ok. So I guess the plan is Edge and Axel charge center, or whatever ranked objective we have, and Shelly and I will flank left and right." Said Colt.

"For every match? People may catch on." Said Shelly.

"Well, we are known for improvising. And I think we need a concrete push to contend with the humans. If you noticed, they don't play quite the same as Inklings or octolings." Said Colt.

"True that." Said Edge.

"But wait. We need to account for something else." Said Axel. "The last weapon the system got was the Caster, last month. But! I went to Shelldon's again to start making a new sniper, and I saw he had like 4 new weapons. One was a rehash of the Caster, but I don't actually know what the others are. They looked like a glaive thrower, shotgun, and sword. I'm gonna presume the sword plays like a brush and roller hybrid, and the shotgun is pretty obviously for close quarters, but I don't know what the glaive thrower will do."

"Oof. We should check them out." Said Shelly.

"Lucky, there weren't any new subs or specials." Said Axel. "Why don't you three go? I custom ordered some new gear, that actually has abilities, so I'm gonna see how it's going." Said Axel.

"Alright. Meet us at Shelldon's when you're done!" Said Colt. They left.

"Ok. Time to see if Jelonzo and Sean could pull it off." Said Axel.

He checked Jelonzo first.

"Sup my jelly dude?" Axel said.

"We....have only talked once..." Said Jelonzo.

"Sorry, I wanted to sound polite. Well, did you get my order to work?" Asked Axel.

"Mostly..." Said Jelonzo. "I couldn't make them do side flips or backwards rolls."

"Eh. Those were an oversight. Just side rolls and forward rolls are great." Said Axel.

"In that case, 3 star Ninja Boots are done, as good as I can get em." Said Jelonzo. "150000 coins please?"

Axel gave him the coins. "It's a pleasure, Jelonzo. Thanks!"

"See you around... Maybe" said Jelonzo.

The next stop was Crusty Sean.

"Ay dude." Said Sean as soon as Axel opened the door. "You here for that order, no?"

"That I am. How'd it turn out?" Asked Axel.

"Well, the camo doesn't work if you stand up, but I'm sure you thought of that. But, I got it to work for rolling." Said Sean. "Had to get parts from the humans, actually. Cost a pretty penny."

"I thought you would. How much for the thing?" Asked Axel.

"For one three star camo trench coat, that'll be 225000 coins." Said Sean.

"Oof man. The parts were very costly, huh?" Said Axel.

"Do you not have the coins?" Asked Sean.

"I do, I just wanna know how much they charged for the parts." Said Axel.

"100000" said Sean.

"Considering they usually sell twice the stuff for 60000, I think they don't like you very much... Eh, here's the money." Axel said, handing over the coins.

"Anything for a great customer." Said Sean. "You going to Annie's for a headgear too?"

"Actually, I have a headset. Already 3 stars." Said Axel.

"Shame. She's the only one who doesn't get custom orders." Said Sean.

"Even if I gave her an order, I think Moe would sabotage it. He hates me, for some reason." Said Axel.

"He hates about everyone. Well, I'll see you off." Said Sean.

"Aight. See you!" Said Axel, leaving the shop.

"Now to go catch up with the others." Said Axel. "I can finish the Spurt Shot another time." He left for Ammo Knights.

5 minutes later.

"Took you a while man. What were you doing?" Said Colt when Axel arrived.

"Putting Ink Saver times 3 on my new gear." Said Axel. "I can shoot 3 ARC attacks without reloading now!"

"That's great! But, what does the gear do otherwise?" Asked Edge.

"Well, I can do dodge rolls, without dualies. Also, when I lay down, I am invisible." Said Axel.

"Dude. Just when we thought you were op, you pull this?" Joked Colt.

"Well, we got a splatfest to do. Let's destroy!" Said Axel.

"What's the theme?" Asked Shelly.

"In 5 minutes it'll be announced." Said Axel. "We should get going."

"By the way, we tested the new weapons. They all do just what you thought." Said Shelly. "And that Glaive thrower shoots ink around corners in a few different curves."

"Ok. So we just gotta know.what to do with those. Easy." Said Axel.

"Guys. Announcement. 3 minutes. Go!" Said Edge.

"Shoot! Coming!" Everyone said.

10 minutes later.

"Look at the crowd!" Said Shelly. "It's huge!"

Besides the regular Inklings and octolings, which already crowded the plaza, there were about 700 humans as well.

"I can barely get around." Said Axel. "Is there anywhere to stand?"

They saw Jay waving for them.

"I guess there is." Said Shelly. "But how do we get to them?"

"Like this." Axel grabbed his squad and grapple jumped to where Jay was.

When they landed, they saw Gaven, G-man and Luke huddled in a corner.

"Yeah, they are having extreme anxiety from the crowd." Said Riley.

"Eh." Said Axel. "They'll be ok."

Just then, Pearl and Marina came up on stage. "What's up y'all!" Pearl shouted. "We got a wild splatfest incoming!" Shouted Marina.

"The theme for this splatfest will be... Whoever wrote this, no! No!" Said Pearl.

"What's it say?" Asked Marina.

Pearl showed her the card. Marina gasped. "We need to have words with that guy. Hang on, we need a moment."

Marina and Pearl huddled.

"What do we do? He had the nerve to write Human vs Oceanic! That's so rude!" Said Pearl.

"We need our own idea... wait! You remember the first time we saw Axel with the Riptide?" Said Marina.

"Oh yeah... We wanted to make that a splatfest idea! Well, it's pretty good for on the fly!" Said Pearl.

The idols turned back to the crowd.

"Sorry guys!" Said Marina. "The producer had a distasteful splatfest idea, so here's ours! Which do you prefer, the A.R.C. or the Riptide?"

"Riptide for me!" Said Pearl. "Those sick beats go so well with our works! And it's so sleek and shiny, I kinda want one myself!"

"Easy, the A.R.C. for me! The power it packs easily cleans up opponents, and that unique special! Ranked isn't even a fight with it!" Said Marina.

"But it's so heavy! And so clunky! The thing looks like a bored welder fused random junk together!" Said Pearl. "Not to mention the entire 2 attacks you get before you gotta reload!"

"Well, I don't know about you, but the Riptide would skin my fingers!" Said Marina. "And playing guitar take so much practice, nevermind having to stand still in battle for it!"

"What do you think! Head to the voting box to decide!" Said Pearl.

"Obviously, Axel is gonna go team Riptide." Said Jay and Shelly.

"Yeah, and I'm impartial." Said Edge.

"Same." Said Shelly and Colt.

"Well, im feeling more for the Arc." Said Jay. "Mostly because I agree with Marina. Note that he plays with his right hand."

"You know 'he' is still here, right?" Said Axel.

"Sorry." Said Jay. "Well, let's go put our votes in."

"I can't wear my trench coat because of the splatfest tee, but it's for another weapon build anyways. Let's go guys!" Said Axel.

"What weapon?" Asked Shelly.

"It's not finished." Said Axel. "It'll be a surprise!"

"Ok..." Said Shelly. As they walked over to put up their votes, she pondered what kind of weapon would need invisibility.
