Drowning Wings

To my readers, note that this article was supposed to be exhilarating. Unfortunately, that is not the case. The former hero of the light, Albus P.W.B Dumbledore, changed this day from exciting and full of entertainment to devasting and full of mourn.

Two champions, Hadrian Riddle and Fleur Delacour, went with their mates, Draco Malfoy and Alexandre Garnier, to St. Mongus Hospital for a fraction bond and dying of a magical form. All this is because Dumbledore, the leader of the light, refused to protect Mr Malfoy and Mr Garnier.

At the end of the first task, as you might remember, each champion obtained a golden egg which contained the clue to the second mission. Before charging, the audience found out the mission of the competitors:

From each competitor, the professors stole something last night. The task was for them to retrieve it in an hour. If not recovered in time, it will be lost forever.

Yesterday the day of the task me, Rita Skeeter, went with the body of Hogwarts and the visiting schools to observe the second task of the thrilling tournament. None of us suspects it will go downhill so swiftly. In the morning, three out of four participants found their mates missing. After a slight alarm and reaching the Professors, there were affirmations that their mates were safe and sound, and they would see them at the end of the task.

And at the end of the assignment, they indeed saw them, but they were anything but safe and sound. Hadrian Riddle, who was the first to reach the goal of the task, which was finding something each competitor lost, was the last to get out. Now you might question, what took him so long? How does it concern their mates? Well, I will tell you. Seemingly from each champion, it was not an object which vanished, but a person! You do not read wrong. Apparently, from three competitors, their mates got captured.

As you might remember from my former articles, Fleur Delacour, her mate Alexandre Garnier and Draco Malfoy are Veelas. To anyone who studies or knows Veelas, it is hazardous for Veelas with a half or a complete form to be underwater for more than ten minutes. A veelas' wings need to be encompassed by air.

The professors knew Garnier and Malfoy had wings and, therefore in danger. Luckily, to prevent unnecessary death, there is an effortless spell to put around the veelas' wings, which Dumbledore promised to put around the two, but never did.

Immediately after Hadrian got out with Mr Garnier and Mr Malfoy, the four got escorted to the Medical Wing, an hour went to St. Mongus, where the families' healers got summoned.

The four children are dying, which was proved by their healers. Hadrian and Draco got transferred in their unconscious form to the trusted hands of Dillan, their family healers, and the goblins who treated broken magical bonds. Meanwhile, Fleur and her mate were in more satisfactory condition, with their family healers running from France to the UK. Their bond was less hurt thank to their age and the development of their bond, while Hadrian and Draco were in critical condition.

The goblins and Dillan's team surround Draco and Hadrian 24/7, trying to keep the bond intact and heal both of them physically without hurting anyone. The sound of crying echoes throughout the whole hospital floor. They both knew that the other was alive. They hugged, saw and lay next to each other. But the feeling of the bond dying was too much for both of them.

They succeeded in preventing the bond from completely breaking apart. But it took them two weeks to get it to start healing. At that time, a lot happened. To start, Hadrian had his second heat three months earlier than anticipated. His body trying to call his mate, attempting to find him, did this. As a result, it was harder for them to treat both of them. In addition, Hadrian's pain intensified because the heat made him more sensitive. Preventing Draco and Hadrian from hurting themselves was the hardest part. The need to separate them, even for a short while, is deadly.

Dillan didn't discharge them back home until their bond came to the same stage before the accident, if you can call it one. And even then, they were monitored and checked out three times a day.

Meanwhile, Dumbledore was arrested at the beginning of the investigation but was discharged from custody by the Order. As a result, the debts of the Order only got more significant and more people decided to leave, untrusting Dumbledore. It was determined that the trial would be at the end of the tournament, a week after starting summer vacation. In addition, Dumbledore lost his position as the headmaster of Hogwarts to the relief of Britain and his disdain. As a result, McGonagall became the headmistress of Hogwarts, while Snape took her position as a deputy headmistress. Professor Flitwick became the head of Griffindor's house until someone fitting would be hired.

There was only one month left for the third task when Draco and Hadrian came back and the complete set of the champion was restored. When coming back to school, the champions were followed by guards, decided by their families. Draco and Hadrian didn't leave each other side even for a slight moment, this time even for the bathroom.

Draco's wings began to grow back only when they came to Hogwarts, and the black spots around Hadrian's temples remained.

The training for the plan continued. All of them trained, if it was a champion or a follower, the person was practising for the big day. New spells were found, and many books were read. They train physically, magic wise and mentally in every possible way for the day. Now that Dumbledore was out of the picture, things were simpler.
