I kept attending my lectures and Tony kept doing his thing; he had not brought any girl to the room, thankfully. I had successfully been able to avoid him for the whole weekdays.
I spent most of my time in the library and when I returned, he was either away or asleep. Today was an exception. It was Friday and as usual, I came back to the room tired for I had exhausted all my time in the library.
I walked into the room, took a shower, cooked some noodles and then laid on my bed to sleep when the door opened and Tony came in.
"Scholar, are you sleeping? For Friday night?"
"And why shouldn't I?" I was puzzled.
"Friday night is for flexing na. Don't you get?"
"I do understand. Friday night is for enjoyment and that is what I'm doing now. I'm sleeping earlier than I do on a normal day." I replied him.
"That one is not enjoyment. That one is normal day experience. See, there's this party going on in a frathouse. You should come."
"I'm sorry I can't. I'm not the party type."
"And why is that?"
"I don't know. I don't just like those kind of parties."
"Have you ever attended one?"
"No!"
"Then how can you conclude when you've not been there before. At least, you should go first; only then would you conclude if you like it or not."
"I know what it's like and I don't like it. So much noise, too much drinking." I shivered. "I like my space and my quiet."
"So you like leading a boring life?" He smirked at me.
"I'm not. It's not boring to me. Not every one likes wasting their time on foolish things." I fired. I was already getting angry.
"Hey! Going to party isn't being foolish."
"Oh yeah? Tell me about it. Wasting your time drinking, dancing and finally coming back home wasted is very very wise."
Tony scowled at me and I almost thought, he would pounce on me. I could see his knuckles tightening as he stared at me. I knew that I had crossed the line.
I was relieved when he walked into the bathroom instead and I heard the sound of the shower. I sighed. Just one week of spending time together, we were already at logger head. We just couldn't agree on one thing; I knew that for sure. I and Tony were contrasting magnet that could never join.
I watched as Tony walked out of the bathroom; clad with a white towel wrapped around his waist, to his wardrobe; pulling out a shirt and trouser.
I felt the urge to apologise but then, what did I do wrong? What I said was the truth and like the saying says, the truth is bitter. If we were going to live together, he had to start accepting the truth for that was what he was going to be hearing.
"I'm sorry." I blurted out finally.
"There's no problem. It's normal." He replied me while buttoning his shirt. "But you should still come for the party just to try, and if you don't like it, then you can do what you like."
"I'm sorry I can't." I sighed. "We have a group study tomorrow. I need to get enough sleep this night to prepare for tomorrow."
"Scholiloo! Scholar. I want to be like you when I grow up o." He laughed and I smiled a little. His phone vibrated and he looked at it.
"Alright then, I'll get going. My friends are here. See you tomorrow." He said and I nodded. "You're coming with me next Friday to a party. You know you owe me?" He opened the door.
"How?" I yelled.
"You just apologized to me. Don't you want your apology to be accepted?" He yelled back as I heard his retreating steps. I sunk into the bed and sighed. I noticed I sighed a lot in this room than I had ever done. Tony was insufferable.

I tried all my best to avoid going for the Friday party. I tried convincing Tony that my group study every Saturday was compulsory.
I told him I had to have a good night rest so as to be refreshed for the group study. But all my excuses were rendered useless. Tony was bent on taking me along with him to the party. I wondered why he wanted so badly for me to be there.
I sat in the car brooding over the misfortune that had befallen me. Three of Tony's friends had come to take us along with them to the party.
Two of the guys were heavily designed with tattoos and piercing while the other smoked silently in the car. I could barely breath since the smoker was sitting next to me.
I wondered where Tony had picked his friends. It was funny how my life had suddenly taken up a huge turn within such short scale. A week ago, I wouldn't have believed that I'd be with these kind of people, heading for a night party.
I glanced at the human being called my roommate and he smiled reassuringly at me.
The drive to the frathouse was some kilometres away. The frathouse was a storey building with many rooms. I could hear music playing from inside. Some group of people were standing at strategic places outside the house doing all sort of things that interested them.
We walked into the house and Tony shook hands with some group of guys. It could be deduced that he was quite popular as various people shook hands and smiled at him including the girls. We sat in a booth with some people I couldn't recognise. The guys I came with in the car disappeared immediately we got into the house and I was left alone with Tony.
Immediately Tony sat down, a girl walked up to him and sat on his laps. I looked at Tony, totally confused he looked at me and smiled.
I could tell he knew what I was thinking so he nodded to a young girl who was standing by the wall alone and winked at me. I wondered why he was winking at me.
"Have some." The guy sitting next to me handed me a bottle of vodka. I gasped as I stared at the bottle. Just merely perceiving the smell, l was choked.
"No thanks. I'll just take malt."
Another guy next to me shouted aloud. "Where do you want to see malt?" This brought the attention of others as they laughed. I couldn't understand why they were laughing.
"Aren't there soft drinks here?" My question triggered more laughter. Even Tony joined in the laughter.
"No!" The first guy that offered me the beer replied.
"Then I'm okay. I'll take nothing." I dismissed.
Another round of laughter was heard and I was embarrassed. I stood up with an excuse to use the toilet. I could still hear them laughing as I moved away from them. I tried to find the restroom because I should really use the toilet.
There were lots of hormonal teenagers and youths blocking the way. I had to push my way past. When I finally found the restroom, I was out of breath. There was a drunk man staggering when I walked in.
I ignored him and carried out my business. When I came out, he was already puking on the floor. I wrinkled my nose in disgust as I walked past him.
A group of curvaceous strippers were already dancing round a pole naked with balaclava covering their faces when I got out of the restroom. I couldn't believe my eyes.
I stood transfixed at that point staring at them, wide eyed. I had only seen a naked woman once in my life and that was when I mistakenly barged into my mum's room. So basically the only naked woman I had seen was my mum.
I was shivering as I stared at those strippers doing lots of dirty moves. I could hear people screaming 'Ella' There was a particular stripper who was at the front.
I deemed she was the Ella people were calling. She was very beautiful with a killer curvy shape. Her moves were salacious and lascivious. She had a very beautiful body and I couldn't take my eyes off her.
"Ella be giving me joy up and down. I wish I could see her face." I heard a guy say behind me. I couldn't even take a look at the guy because my eyes were glued at the strippers. Suddenly, I felt a hand grip my arm. I turned swiftly to see Tony staring at me.
"Where have you been? I've been waiting for you."
"Why? Do you think I'd like to go back to your funny group of friends who laugh at every single thing?" I asked as I turned my eyes back to the strippers. I didn't know when I said aloud, "Who's this Ella girl?
"She's the key stripper here. Very curvaceous human being. Come on, let's go." Tony replied as he dragged me along with him.
