Bonds

(from the collection 'Whispers from the Heart')

As I color the spirals

of my chemistry notebook

I think of the bonds

connecting us if they too

are specifically colored

Ruby red like the blood

igniting our mortal bodies

or blue as ink

covering the whiteness of the page

with tattoos and words...

Perhaps they are golden

like the sun enveloping us

in hope and warmth

or pale silver like the moon

illuminating the darkness of the night...

Though I wish them to be transparent

like the water of the calm sea

so that we could splatter it

with the vibrant shades that we wish

to please us both...

Whatever may it be, let it be

but let it not be black

like the night sky unless it is adorned

with twinkling stars

who lost their way...
