Chapter 3 *flashback*

Philip looked out of the window of the carriage, watching the trees go by. He was on his way to the kingdom next to his own, ready to meet the princess and the queen.

"I still don't see why we have to do this," Philip said, for the tenth time in the past five minutes.

"Don't worry about it," Florian said, sitting opposite his little brother looking out of the other window.

"Yes, but one of us have to get married to the princess! Don't you think we'rea little bit too... Young?"

Florian faced his little brother. "We've both have to get married eventually. Besides, the law changed. We have to get married before we're twenty one, and our parents can pick our brides." Florian moved so he was now sitting next to Philip. "We just have to do this for three months, that's it."

Philip wasn't too keen on this whole idea. He didn't even know this girl!! And if he had to marry her... No. He wouldn't allow it. He'd just have to explain to this princess that he couldn't marry her. No matter how kind, or pretty she was....

They reached the kingdom after three hours. The driver had to wake up the two brothers, who had long fallen asleep, Philip resting his head on Florian's shoulder, and Florian's head was resting on the carriage wall. Once they woke up the quickly sorted out their hair and smoothed out the creases in their clothes.

They were lead into the castle by a man with the most grim face they had ever seen. Florian had to hit Philip lightly for laughing. They were lead info the throne room, where a woman sat, who they presumed was the queen.

She was dressed in a black dress with a hood that went all the way over the back of her head, so you couldn't see her hair. There were bits of purple, and on the top of her head was a yellow crown. Her eyebrow game was unbelievable, and her makeup was dark, making her features stand out.

She had a snarl on her face, but as soon as she saw the brothers enter she gave a massive grin. "Boys," she spread her and out. "Welcome."

Florian bowed, so Philip did the same.

"Your majesty," Florian spoke for them both. "We were sent by our father, and are delighted to be here, to work for you, and try win the heart of your daughter."

"Wha-" Philip started, but Florian stamped hard on how little brothers foot.

"Thank you boys," The Queen said. "Although she is actually my step daughter."

"Oh, my apologies."

The Queen waved her hand. "Let's not think about it. Come, dinner has been prepared, and laid on the table."

Florian and Philip followed the Queen through the new palace, and into a huge dining room, where it seemed all the food in the world was laid out on the long table. Four chairs were placed around the table. The Queen sat at the head of the table. The two brothers sat on the side of the table, next to each other.

One chair was left, ready for the princess.

Suddenly she entered the room, and even though Philip didn't like this whole arrangement, he has to admit she was the must beautiful girl he had ever seen. It took him a lot of strength not to let his jaw hang open.

She was wearing a yellow and blue dress, with hints of red on the short sleeves. Her short hair was as black as ebony, and her skin was as pale as snow. Her lips were red as rose.

"Good afternoon stepmother," she curtsied. "I'm sorry for being late."

There was a slight note of panic in her voice, but Florian and Philip didn't notice, they were too busy, mesmerised by her beauty.

Her stepmother waved her hand, "we can deal with the subject later."

The princess nodded, and slipped into her seat.

"This is my maid-stepdaughter, Snow White," the Queen corrected herself.

"Hello," Florian stuttered. Phillip just nodded.

They began to eat.

"These are the two boys who will be working with-for you," the Queen had to correct herself again.

Snow White nodded. "It's a pleasure to meet you both."

"Same to you," Philip said.

They ate the rest of their dinner in silence.
