Getting To It
Astra and I walked to dinner. We talked about random things like family and home and my 'obsession with blue cookies'. Hah. Like I had an obsession.
We walked to my table, or excuse forever would be:"There isn't enough room at the Hermes table." We talked some more about the food, until we actively wanted food, then got up and served ourselves.
When we got back, Tyson was there with Clarisse. "Hey Tyson, Clarisse." Clarisse nodded at me, while Tyson said simply,"Hi."
Astra sticky extended her arm towards them both.
"So," I began,"What's the occasion?" I slid into the bench at my table while the others -except Astra- stood there.
I patted the seats next to me,"Come on guys, sit." They hesitantly sat down.
Clarisse looked at me,"So. What's the plan"
I looked at her. "The plan was to eat then discuss. But we can do it backwards if you guys want." I held an apple I my hand.
"... Yeah okay. We'll discuss after you two eat."
Astra and I looked at them gratefully and began to eat our food. When we finished, Astra said,"So. Let's discuss."
I nodded. "Okay, so obviously we can't leave camp during the day. That's a no-brainer." I paused to chew my food,"The problem is: how do we get past the harpies?" We all paused to think about this for a while.
Tyson said,"Maybe we could...leave at sunset." We all looked at him, then Astra gasped a little loudly, but no one seemed to care enough to look back at us.
"Tyson," Astra said,"you're a genius." He seemed to brighten up at that. "We could leave when everyone will be distracted. Use that as a way to be able to sneak away before anyone notices we've left." I nod at her words.
"Or," Clarisse interjected,"we could leave when we're training outside. You know, just a thought. Sneak away when no ones looking."
I nodded,"You all have good ideas. So, let's take a vote on our escape plan. Raise your hand for Astra and Tyson's plan." All hands were raised to below the chin. Clarisse coughed.
"Now that we've got that covered, we should figure out a place to meet when the time comes." We all nodded at that.
Astra piped in,"How about the beach. No one's going over there to eat dinner."
Clarisse scowled," Yeah, okay. But where?"
We all thought about that.
"Near the dock," said Tyson. "So it will be an idea on where we should meet, but not exact so to be obvious."
We all nodded at that.
I clapped my hands, "Great, we have an agreement. Hopefully you all packed all the important things like money and ambrosia, because we'll leave tomorrow night." They all nodded. "Okay, now go back to your tables before you get into serious trouble." Clarisse and Tyson got up from their seats and moved to the Ares and Poseidon tables respectably.
Astra turned to me,"Can't wait 'till tomorrow." I nodded towards her.
"Neither can I."
The next day went by in a blur. Our schedules were the same as usual, and then came the time for dinner when we would leave and meet by the dock. Astra was the first to arrive, or so I've been told. I was the last to get there.
"Finally," I hear Clarisse say,"'thought you wouldn't get here."
I glared at her,"Got caught up with something."
"Oh yeah?" Clarisse said,"And what was this something?"
"An Iris Message." I replied,"And before you ask, no, you can't know who I was talking to."
"Whatever," she said," didn't want to hear you go on and on about your girlfriend." I blushed and stuttered on that statement, Tyson looked like he was trying not to laugh, and Astra looked like she'd seen a ghost.
Although, that last statement could be taken as she good thing, or a bad thing. It all depends on what you know about Astra.
"So, um," I tried for coughing to get their attention,"should we go now?" They all nodded and we started walking around the camp, towards the closest road there was.
Two days later, and we hadn't had a single monster attack, which was worrying, but at the same, made things easier.
We were currently at a fast food restaurant to get breakfast. Anything was food at this point.
Astra was paying for our food, while the rest of us looked for a table to sit at. We finally found a table in this absurdly crowded fast food restaurant in a corner on the far right. We sat down and waited for Astra to arrive.
She came back with a tray that consisted of the cheapest items on the menu.
We began to eat our food. Then talked.
"We've been running around New York for two days now. Where do go you plan on going to find the Golden Fleece?" Clarisse hissed.
I blushed and looked at her,"I-I'm working on it." I looked back at my food,"Just need to remember where to find the Golden Fleece... Oh wait!" I muttered the first part and yelled the last part. I then looked at the person in front of me, who happened to be Tyson, and said,"We're going to the Sea of Monsters!" Suddenly the whole restaurant turned to look at us strangely.
"Shh!" Astra...shushed. She was blushing firecly. After a few moments of silence, the restaurant slowly turned back to their normal conversations. Then, Clarisse punched me. Hard.
"Ow!" I yelped, then lowered my voice."What was that for?"
She rolled her eyes as if I had asked a stupid question."For telling-no. Yelling out our plans." She scowled at me,"For all we know, we just told some greek monster where we were going. And all because of you." She made a move to grab me but was stopped when Astra said:
"H-hold up." Astra said, seemingly not have recovered from my bring attention to our table. "If you're going to kill Percy; first of all, do it outside. Second of all," her blush seemed to lessen a bit," Percy is important to our quest as much as the rest of us." She made a weird face and then said,"Although, he is a bit of a loud mouth."
"Hey!" I said, the realized why she called me a loud mouth,"Okay, that's fair." Astra face palmed and Clarisse face planted on our table. Meanwhile, Tyson was slowly eating his food. I decided to follow his example and began to eat my own.
"So,...where next?" I swallowed my food and said,
"I don't know, to be honest." Or, I simply forgot what I did.
Clarisse groaned,"So what do we do now, Jackson?"
I gave her a look,"Well, obviously we go to the sea of monsters. Just don't know how."
"Or where." Astra included.
"Actually,-" I began but was cut off by Tyson.
"The sea of monsters is in the Bermuda Triangle."
We all looked at him.
"How do you know this?" Clarisse asked,"Why are we even trusting a cyclops on telling us where it is?"
"Because its true." Now all eyes were on me.
"How do you know?"
"Because I saw it in a dream." I lied.
"And how reliable is a fu-"
"Okay!"Astra raised her voice. "This is a kid-friendly restaurant." She pointed towards the play area where we were sitting nearby,"There's no need to cuss."
Clarisse fumed but complied.
"Okay, so what we need to do is find out a way to get to the sea of monsters..." I trailed off noticing a man walking towards our table.
"What is it?" Clarisse said. She tensed up immediately and brought her hand to her hip. Astra did the same.
"A god." Tyson answered for the man who was now at the end of our table.
"Yes." He frowned slightly, as if he was going to say that himself and Tyson just stole his thunder."I'm Hermes." He coughed, and after he had studied all of us said, "And I'm here to help you out."
Word count:1369
So, this is probably the longest chapter I've written. Wooo.
So, in case anyone was wondering, I use bold instead of italics because italics don't work.
I don't know if this is just me. But yeah.
Bye.
