Coral woke up with a start, soaked in sweat and covered in scales. This was the third time she had woken up like this. As she picked up her phone, she saw the time. Midnight. She tried getting to sleep, when she heard Phoenix and froze.

As Phoenix looked into kaiya's room, she chuckled, glad she was with her son again. She checked in on crossflare, who was fast asleep. When she got to Corals room, she paused. Sighing, she opened the door to see Coral trembling in her bed, her scales reflecting the light washing in. Phoenix hesitantly walked in, closing the door behind her. She sat on corals bed, and held her hand, gaining access to her thoughts and feelings. With a gasp, she pulled coral close and hugged her, assuring her everything would be ok, even though she knew what had to happen. And it would change their lives forever.
