Crap
Rosie was being cautious all week, making sure not lift much or do anything that could harm her or the baby. She knew that most of the time nobody goes into labor on their actual due date, but she hoped that she would, because in all honesty she was done being pregnant. She also just wanted to see her little girl.
When she woke up she turned her phone on to see the time.
"Marco." She called as her phone was turning on. She saw it was only 9:30. "Marco." She called again. She rolled over onto her side to look at him. She wasn't able to pull herself up to see if he was awake.
"Marco, are you awake?" She asked. She tapped his arm then rolled over onto her left side to check her phone. She had missed a call from her mom and a text from Molly. She read what Molly said first.
Ro, I'll come over to your house around 11:00 AM. Your mom said she'll be around at 10:00. If anything happens before I get there, call me. Ok, love you. See you soon.
She hadn't realized that Molly would be coming over until she asked her too. She started to text her back.
M, you don't need to come over. We're perfectly fine and when I go into labor I'll just call you.
She put her phone down so she could go get ready for the day. She didn't really know what to expect for what would happen today. She went to the bathroom and then did her hair and put on a light amount of makeup. She wanted to wear some but not a lot because she knew there was a possibility that the baby might come.
After that, she went to her closet and grabbed a sweat pants and a sweatshirt. She was trying not wake Marco up, especially since when the baby comes she'll probably make him do more night shifts then she will, since she'll need to sleep after giving birth.
She accidentally dropped her sweater and tried to lean down and get it.
"Ahh!" She squealed. She forgot she wasn't really able to bend without her back hurting. "Oooohh!" She exhaled slowly.
She left the sweater on the ground and held onto the closet door.
Marco woke up at the sound of her shriek.
"Rosie are you ok?" He worriedly asked.
She turned her head to see him. "Oh, I'm fine, just made the stupid idea of bending. I didn't mean to wake you up." She told him, turning around.
He got up and took her arm to help her sit down. "You don't need to apologize for anything. Are you ok? Did anything happen?" He asked while grabbing the sweatshirt from the ground.
She put it on and then answered him. "You mean, did my water break? No just hurt my back a little. I really have to remember to stop doing that, my back can't handle it. Ugh! I don't want to be pregnant anymore."
"Well it shouldn't be much longer anymore. Today's your due date."
"I know!" She squealed.
He went in for a kiss and then they smiled at each other while Rosie put her hands on her stomach.
Marco got up and went to get ready. Rosie looked at the time and saw it was already 10:00. "Marco, my mom will be here any minute." She called.
"Ok." He called back.
She headed out of the room and into the hallway. She went into the nursery and looked at it for a while. Any day she would be able to put her little girl in here and that made her smile. She went back to her room and stared at the bassinet next to her bed. They had put a soft, pink blanket in it with a matching sheet.
"Rosie?" She heard from downstairs.
"Mom?" She called while trying to get down the steps. "I'll be down in a minute." She called again.
Alice came to the end of the steps to see Rosie waddling her way downstairs.
"Do you need help?" Alice asked.
"No. I'm good. The steps are hard but everything else is fine. Well I waddle everywhere." She laughed at herself.
"Oh, honey let me look at you. I haven't see. You in months. I can't believe she's gonna be here any day!"
"Yeah I hope. I'm ready to see her and hold her." Rosie put her arms around her stomach. Then she went into the kitchen and took out a bowl. Alice followed her.
"Honey, be careful. You don't want to do too much. You don't need to fall."
"I'm not going to fall." She said while reaching up to the top cabinet to grab a box of cereal.
"You should not be doing that. If you can't reach something you tell someone." She got the box down. "Now, where's Marco?" She walked out into the hallway near the steps.
"He's getting ready. He'll be down soon. Ugh! I can't reach it." Rosie complained.
"Rosie, I told you to stop doing that. I already got you, your food." She said, walking back to the kitchen.
"Mom, it's fine. It's only because I'm too short."
"What do you need?"
"A cup." She pointed to a cup that had an R on it.
"You shouldn't be doing too much."
"No, mom, it's fine. I want the baby to come today."
"Well if that's what you're trying to do, then why don't we go take a walk after you get eat, and after Molly gets here. If you fall someone else is going to have to catch you."
"Mom!"
"What? I'm not saying you will. It's just you might lose your balance."
"Mom, I've walked every single day while pregnant. I'm pretty sure I can handle going on a walk without falling."
"What if you go into labor?"
"I'm not going to have the baby right there and then. You'll just call Marco and take me to the hospital. . . You should know this better then me, you actually gave birth."
"Oh, I know, I'm just trying to make sure you're safe. . . I still say we wait for Molly gets here."
"I don't disagree with that."
They both laughed at that. Rosie sat down at the kitchen table and ate something. Alice went to put some of the dishes away and got out some baby bottles, just so they have some ready.
"Oh, mom you don't need to do that. I'm planning on breast feeding."
"Well, you should have some ready just in case. Besides, you bought them and they're a good thing to have, and what about when you go back to work?"
"She'll come with me for as much as she can. When I can't bring her, then you'll watch her. But that won't be for three months after I give birth. Me and Marco planned this a while ago."
"So you'll need them soon enough, and you can't be sure you'll be able to breast feed."
"Yeah I guess. But it's worth it to give it a try."
"Well of course give it a try. I just want you to be prepared."
"Mom! I know all of this. Why are you bringing it up now? I literally can go into labor any minute." Rosie started to get annoyed with her mother.
"I'm just trying to help. Relax."
Before Rosie could say anything else, Marco came down. He gave Rosie a kiss.
"Talk to my mom. Make sure I get at least an hour of peace and quiet without her trying to tell me stuff I already know." She went out into the living room and went onto Netflix.
Marco was confused, but didn't want to make Rosie more irritated. "Hi, Alice."
"Hi Marco. Did she bring her food out to the couch? Are you going to teach the baby that it's ok, to eat on the couch?"
Rosie heard that and rolled her eyes.
"Is she mad at me? That's the hormones."
"Marco!!" Rosie called.
"I'll be right back." He told Alice.
He walked over to Rosie and tried to calm her down. "I see what you meant." He told her.
"Yeah. Molly will be here soon. When she gets here we're gonna go on a walk, so I can get some fresh air."
"Ok. That's a good idea. Should I come with you?"
"No. I think you should relax just incase the baby doesn't come today."
"You do realize the chances of the baby coming today . . . ."
"Shh! Yes. But please don't say it again."
"Ok." He chuckled.
After Molly got to there house, she and Rosie went on a walk down to the park. They would've spent more time walking, but it was cold and Rosie needed to pee every five minutes.
Then they went back to the house and just walked around the living room. Marco made some spicy food and gave her a back massage.
After another five hours, Rosie still hadn't gone into labor and it was getting dark outside.
"Ro, I need to head out. If you go into labor tonight, call me. Bye Molly." Alice went over to hug Rosie.
"Bye mom. At this point I doubt she's going to come today."
"Well call me. . . I love you sweetheart."
"I love you too mom." Rosie put her head on her mothers shoulder.
"I'm sorry about this morning."
"It's ok. You were just trying to help."
Alice looked at Rosie and kissed her on the cheek like she did every night when Rosie was little. "Bye."
"Bye mom."
Rosie sat back down next to Molly and put her head on Molly's shoulder.
"I'm so tired. But I'm so uncomfortable. Ughhh!! I just want her to come!!"
"Maybe, if you go to bed, she'll come tomorrow." Molly rubbed Rosies back.
"I'm so hot. There's nothing I can sit it that feels comfortable. I can barely get up the steps. The baby is sitting on my bladder so I have to pee all the time. I can't sleep on my side, because I can't move once I'm laying down."
Molly was surprised at how much complaints she had. "So why can't you just sleep on your back?"
"Because, then the baby kicks and I have to pee." She snuggled into Molly's arm.
"Well, just rest now." She put her arm around her best friend.
Marco was out getting some spicy food to help her go into labor. He went to three different stores, and found a couple different things. He told Molly to call him if anything happened to Rosie.
When he got home, he found Rosie asleep on Molly's shoulder. Her hands were on her stomach and a blanket on her feet.
"When did she fall asleep?" Marco asked.
Molly paused the show she was watching. "About 30 minutes ago. She was really tired. She was really hoping to go into labor. She's really uncomfortable."
"I know. She's really disappointed."
Molly moved Rosie, so she could get up. "I'm gonna head out. Call me if you need anything or if anything happens. Hopefully I'll see you guys tomorrow some time. Take care of her."
"Yeah. Bye Molly."
"Bye Marco. Bye Rosie." She whispered. Molly got her purse and headed out the door.
Marco went to the couch and leaned down.
He put his hand on Rosies face and kissed the top of her head. "Baby, do you want to go to bed?"
Rosie shook her head yes, with her eyes closed.
He picked her up and kissed her head. She put her head on his shoulder and smiled.
"Are you ok?" He asked.
She stopped smiling and shook her head no. "I wanted her to come today." She complained.
"I know. But you knew how likely that was."
She opened her eyes. "Marco, can give the spicy food to me?"
"Rosie, you're practically asleep. I'll give it to you tomorrow."
"Ok. I can live with that."
He wakes upstairs and put her on the bed and then went to his side of the bed and got in.
"Marco, you know, there is one more thing we can do to go into labor."
"Um, is that really the best idea?"
"We don't have to have actual sex. But making out definitely does something. I read it in a pregnancy book."
"Ok. That's fine." He closed his eyes and turned on his side.
"Marco?" She put her head on his arm.
"Rosie, it's late and we're both tired."
"Marco, you're not the one pregnant. Please!"
"I want you to understand that it's not that I don't want to make out with you, it's that I'm half asleep and I think you are too."
"I'm not going to bed until you kiss me."
Marco turned over and started kissing her. She kissed him back. They made out for a few minutes, until Rosie fell fast asleep. Marco laughed and then went to bed.
Rosie slept the whole night, without getting up once. This was very rare, considering she needs to pee about every five minutes.
When she woke up in the morning, it was almost 9:00. She checked to see if Marco was awake, and he wasn't.
She got up, went to the bathroom, did her hair, skipped the makeup today and went to put on another pair of sweats. She went on her phone for a little bit, and stayed in bed until it was 10:00, which is when Marco woke up.
"Good morning." She said, as he turned over to see her. She gave him a kiss.
"Good morning. I'm surprised you're already awake."
"I woke up an hour ago." She told him. She got off the bed and went to the bassinet. She took out another blanket from under it and put it on the bed.
"You're in a good mood. What's this for?"
She smiled and then answered him. "Well, I want to bring this blanket to the hospital with us. It's really cute and soft."
"Ok. We can do that."
"I'm gonna go downstairs."
"Ok, I'll be down soon." He gave her a kiss as he got up.
Rosie headed downstairs and into the kitchen. She took a bowl that Marco head left on the counter for her. Then she went to the fridge to grab a bunch of the different foods Marco had gotten her to go into labor.
She felt a little poke in the side of her stomach and put her her hand over her stomach.
After that she went into the living room and sat on the couch.
Marco came downstairs a few minutes later. He made some eggs and went to go sit next to her.
"Are you ok?" Marco asked her.
"Yeah. Why wouldn't I be?"
"You look like you're in a little bit of pain. Do you want me to call your mom?"
"No, I'm fine. This is just a little spicy." She giggled.
"Well, yeah, that makes sense." They both laughed.
The day went by slowly. Rosie would have a few pokes in the side of her stomach, but didn't think it was anything. Marco gave her back massages every now and then.
At around 2:30, Rosie decided it would be a good idea to go on a walk. They took a walk around the park for 30 minutes.
"I don't want to be pregnant anymore. Why can't I go into labor?!" Rosie yelled.
"Well, walking helps so let's keep walking."
"No. Marco, I'm so tired and uncomfortable: let's just go home. I'm sure that eating spicy stuff is working more then this."
"Are you sure?"
"Yeah. I need to eat and take a shower. Let's please just, go home."
"Ok."
Rosie grabbed on to Marco's arm and they headed home.
Marco made them dinner and they sat on the couch to watch a movie.
"Ready for bed?" Marco asked after he saw it was 7:45.
"I need to take a shower." Rosie told him, getting up to the couch to go upstairs.
"Ok. I'm gonna put the dishes away."
Rosie headed up to their bathroom and took a long shower.
After putting her hair in a half ponytail, she headed out to the bedroom.
She saw Marco on his phone watching a few videos, until he saw her start to walk over to the bed.
"You know, if the baby comes next week, that does give us more time to get ready."
Rosie was listening until she felt something painful in her side. It went away in just a few seconds, so she didn't think much of it.
Marco kept talking as Rosie got into bed. She started to feel something weird in her stomach. She didn't have anymore pain, so she tried to relax, unless something else happened.
She pulled the blanket over her and tried listening to Marco.
Marco was on his other side, so he couldn't see that she was uncomfortable.
Marco continued to talk, while Rosie tossed and turned, trying to find a position where she didn't feel uncomfortable.
Once she finally just laid on her back, she felt something wet go down her thigh.
Her eyes popped out as she felt the water come down her leg and she slowly got out of bed. She stood up slowly and suddenly felt water rush down her thighs and hit the ground.
"Crap!" She mumbled.
Marco turned over to see Rosie bent over with huge eyes, staring at the ground. "Rosie, are you ok?" He asked, sitting up.
Rosie turned around slowly to look at him, with amniotic fluid all over her legs and feet.
"My water broke."
