1. How long since you invented your world?

I'd say around 6-7 years. It was REALLY different back then, though. Much more Standard Fantasy Land with dwarves, humans, strictly medieval Europe influence, etcetera.

2. What sort of magic, if any, does it boast?

It would be easier to say what kind of magic it didn't boast (I might have had trouble picking a favorite, hehe). Basically, there's personal magic essence which is generated by living things (this is what Sedgewick and the gang use). Then there's forbidden black magic which is an evil, corruptive force with connections to the Underworld (this is what wizards and sorceresses use). And finally, there's Pure Magic. This is the antithesis of black magic and can only be used by select individuals. And since this plays a big role in another project, that's all I'm going to say about it...

Other that these main subsets, there's also alchemists who use the magic essence in plants to brew potions. An illegal (and usually evil) alchemist is known as a witch or a warlock. These are usually considered the weakest of the magic users with the exception of blood witches, who are stronger.

Outside of these, I also have a fey family whose woman have limited precognition, and the nymphs who have plant-based powers along with shapeshifting abilities.

Have you created a language for your world?

Umm, no. J.R.R. Tolkien, I am not (mad respect for that man, though).

That's not to say that everyone in my world speaks the same language, however. The feys, meridians, goblins, etc. all have separate languages. Not to mention the Ancient's Script/Speech from which the modern fey language is descended from. The dialect of Abreyla is different from that of the Northlands (which is more of an Abreylian term for the nation and land beyond). And the dialect of the Northlands is different from the dialect of where Sedgewick was born (most Abreylians can't tell the difference, however). Which is why he has an accent.

What's the longest excerpt you've written in your language? Provide a translation if you wish.

No language so no excerpt.

What time period does your world most closely resemble?

Oh, how I hate this question. It's... kind of a hodge-podge. Some sort of Roman-Renaissance hodgepodge set in a vaguely Mediterranean world.

Did it take you a long time to fix on this period?

YES. Still a work in progress, actually. There are a few "modernisms" that I'd like to clean up in a second draft, although I don't know if I'll put that one on Wattpad...

How good are you at killing off a decent number of characters?

Terrible. If this was a class then I would be failing. In my defense, I have only written part of one book. It's something I'm working on (mostly because I would deeply enjoy my reader's reactions, hehe).

List several of your favorite characters and why.

1. Sedgewick, obviously. He's one of my most complex and I can see shades of myself in him. His struggle with how he defines his self-worth is something I think a lot of people can relate to.

2. Eleyna. She's so cold and aloof but really just wants to belong and feel accepted. Her confusion over her place in the world is another thing I've related to. We're different in terms of personality but there's definitely pieces of myself in her.

3. Feyla. Sweet, stubborn, supportive with a strong moral center... What's not to love? She's one of the most put-together of my characters. I like how she shines as an example of someone who has dealt with their backstory issues in a (generally) healthy manner.

4. Fenroy. He's the sweetest guy and strong in more ways than just physically. Deceptively difficult to unravel (I'm still working on discovering all his layers) but worth the effort.

These guys I like to call the "Core Four" because they're the ones I've spent the most time developing and spinning stories for all these years. They've been around since I was a kid and all of them have a piece of my heart. <3 <3 <3 <3
