Chapter nine

It felt like time was frozen, after all I have caused and all he has done he asks me the hardest question one can truly ask. This choice would effect us both and even the world, this was a dangerous choice.
"What's the hardest answer one can say?" I half questioned, his eyes were filled with hope.
"I can accept if you can't forgive me....." Springtrap trailed, I put my hand on his shoulder.
"I forgive you," I smiled, he looked at me with for the first time ever bright happy eyes.
"I-I don't know what to say!" Springtrap exclaimed, a twig snapped and the dark scary voice sounded.
"You can say that you have nothing to be forgiven for! I knew you would betray me! Nightmare knew you would betray him too!" Nightlock roared, we both stood and spun.
"No I didn't betray anyone but them! You and Nightmare betrayed my trust! I thought that what we did was right until I watched Marionetta forgive so many all those years ago! I am to blame for my actions yes but you and Nightmare only used me!" Springtrap spat, I stood at his side.
"You were worthless anyways," Nightlock growled, suddenly the twisted ones lunged. I shielded Springtrap from their blows and teleported us away, we arrived near the cave.
"The others will think I'm an enemy," Springtrap sighed, I looked at him.
"Not if you come with me as a friend," I offered, he nodded and followed me to the cave leaving any weapons to be buried by the falling snow. The others were on their feet seeing Springtrap, but when they noticed that I looked calm and happy they grew confused.
"Marionetta what are you doing with that death trap?" Freddy growled, I shook my head.
"What he did was wrong yes but everyone deserves forgiveness, he told me what really happened and heck I even earned my memories back thanks to him," I pressed on, everyone was still edgy but didn't question me further. Chanda and Plushtrap greeted him happily, but those who had lived long enough gave him glares but he ignored them. I sat down watching them, Springtrap played with Plushtrap and Chanda. He was braves I could give him that, at least I had another ally and friend. It brought a smile to my face, honestly I was glad he saw an error in his ways. The world outside the cave seemed to be happy itself, the blizzard didn't last long but clouds still covered the sky. It turned out it was the middle of the day, I watched as everyone settled down talking. Golden Freddy also seemed happy to have an old friend back, I still missed shadow Freddy though. Forgiving Springtrap felt like a weight had lifted off my shoulders, I didn't have to worry about keeping them safe from him anymore. It would take time of course for the others to forgive him too, I knew he didn't mind. Plushtrap seemed happy to have Springtrap around, it shocked me how much they looked alike. I turned my gaze to outside the cave, I smiled watching the odd snowflake drift down from a tree. Nightlock wouldn't be happy to have lost Springtrap, I couldn't shake the feeling though that Nightlock was actually seeking forgiveness but being Nightlock would think emotions like that were for the weak. That plus he was a battle hungry pig headed moron, that's besides the point. I put my hand out and caught a snowflake, since I didn't regulate body heat it didn't melt upon contact. It was beautiful, it's crystal-like appearance was marvellous. I then let it drop down to join the thousands of other flakes, Springtrap joined me.
"Thank you puppet, for everything," Springtrap sighed, I knew it wasn't his usual every day attitude but I knew he was grateful.
"Those who seek forgiveness aren't weak but are the bravest of all," I smiled, he looked at the sky a smile on his face. We sat in silence watching as the sky grew darker and the sun began to sink, for the first time in so many years Springtrap was free.
"I'm sorry about shadow Freddy, I tried to stop Nightlock but he accused me of being a traitor so I sought forgiveness instead of bringing more hate," Springtrap explained, I nodded.
"He saved me, now his soul is shattered like the wind, broken and easily enough destroyed, I won't see his cheerful wise face, I won't hear his laugh, I won't enjoy any times with him again," I sighed, Springtrap moved closer.
"If I could rewind and save you all I would do it in a heart beat," Springtrap wished, I looked at him.
"I'm glad to have you as a friend," I ushered, Springtrap looked slightly shocked.
"F-friend?" Springtrap almost couldn't believe my words, I nodded.
"An ally who just does things to earn respect gets no respect at all, but an ally who lays down his or her life is true and a friend to all," I whispered to the wind, Springtrap gave a sigh for the first time having a true friend.
"You have a way with words," Golden Freddy cut in, he sat down next to us.
"Eh I've grown used to it since it's hard convincing you to get off your butt," I chuckled, Springtrap and golden Freddy chuckled too.
"One day an age of peace will come and no matter what tries to shatter it, it won't be destroyed," Golden Freddy hoped, I agreed.
"I just had an idea, I know Nightlocks hiding locations, I know how the twisted ones move and act, that's why Nightlock tried to kill me when I sided with you all, it makes perfect sense! I'm an information bomb, I know what his plans are and everything!" Springtrap exclaimed, it came as a shock at his sudden burst of joy.
"That could come in handy but for now let's rest," Golden Freddy nodded, the sun had sunk over the horizon. We went further into the cave where the others had fallen asleep, I layed down next to Springtrap and Chanda. I was curious what tomorrow would bring, whatever it was we were ready.
Woohoo, new ally everyone. But can he prove himself to the others is the question, there's a hint in here about what happens to those who try to get respect.
