Chapter 6.

Zhan's pov

The sky was vibrant and beautiful and the sun was bright, the streets were all decorated and the people were roaming on the streets happy with their families.

When I reached the hunting grounds, I went straight to my camp while my family was in another tent. The entire place was set up well and all the facilities were provided.

"Lord, I'll go and check the area." Haoxuan said, and I nodded at him, once I was alone, I started taking out my weapons and started placing them in front of me. My decision to help Simon was going to change a lot of things, me siding with Simon was not only going to put me but my family in a tight spot as well.

But this is what needed to be done.

While I was rearranging my thoughts I felt another presence in my room, I didn't even had to look back to see who it was, I knew it was him.

I suddenly felt strong arms wrap around me as Yibo pressed his front against my back and placed his head over my shoulder and sighed with relief. He stood against me with all his guard down and sighed with relief as if he was back home after a long day. As if this was the most natural thing for him.

"I missed you." he mumbled against my shoulder.

I tried to calm my racing heart and placed my hands over his, as I said in a calm voice, "I missed you too Darling." It wasn't a complete lie, after all most of my thoughts always revolved around this man.

I could feel him smile, "are you ready for the hunt?" he asked.

I turned to look at him, and every time I see his face I forget about every suffering of my past, those beautiful eyes and that brighter than the sun smile had always been enough to lighten up my mood and put my heart at ease always. I gently placed my hand on his face and thought to myself that how can I protect this. This warmth, this closeness, this peace.

How can I convince this man to leave everything he strand by and join me, to betray the king and join hands with the rebels, how can I convince this man to give up all his principles and forget his years of loyalty to the king, how can I rip that blindfold off of this man and make him see what evil he is supporting.

I sighed, in my last life it was already too late when I realized the true nature of the king, my sister was dead and my mother was also dead, my family was ruined and only then did the blindfold was ripped off of my eyes.

After I went through hell, maybe I'll have to wait for Yibo to experience something like that too, maybe then he would understand and join me.

"Hey?" Yibo snapped his fingers in front of me, I blinked my eyes and saw that he was looking at me with concern, "what's wrong?" he asked as he broke the hug and stood straight, "are you alright Zhan? you were zoned out, if you are not well then don't go to the hunt."

I shook my head and smiled, "I am perfectly fine Yibo, everything is okay."

Yibo stared at me with those same eyes that told me that he knew I was hiding something but he wanted me to come out clean to him own my own, "Zhan, the hunt could be dangerous if your mind is somewhere else, you could get hurt, even on princess's birthday your mind was somewhere else, tell me Zhan, is everything okay?"

I smiled and gently kissed him on the lips, it was the only of distracting him. He wasted no time and wrapped his arms around my neck and deepened the kiss, I wrapped my arms around his waist in a bruising grip and pulled him closer.

What started as a way to distract Yibo soon engulfed me as well, no matter how many times we do this, no matter how many times I have him, its never enough, I am never satisfied. For me Yibo was like a drug, like water to someone thirsty, like food to someone starving, for me Yibo was someone who had always belonged to me, belonged with me in my arms, and my place was in his arms, by his side.

I had always worshipped the ground he walked on, he was someone I had respected, admired, cherished, he was my world, my everything, other half my soul, with him in my arms I feel so complete and without him I always felt empty.

Yibo was my safe haven.

And I was going to destroy this safe haven, I was going to burn this safe space to the ground and stand on it's ashes. I felt my heart clench again and my hold on Yibo only tightened, I wanted him right here right now, because I knew I didn't had long before these moments cease to exist. We had limited moments like these and I wanted to make full use of these.

I wanted to go further but Yibo pulled back, he was out of breathe as he said, "hey... we have to.. we have to get back, we can't start now."

My mouth found his neck, "we can definitely do a lot more, but you just have to be a little quiet." I said as I sucked on his neck.

"Zhan... the hunt will start soon, we don't have time."

"Come on Yibo don't you want me?" I asked huskily as I bit his neck leaving marks on his delicate skin.

"Zhan..."

If I push a little more I know he would give in, however before I could not anything anymore, Haoxuan came barging in.

"My Lord- oh..." he started but as soon as he saw me and Yibo his eyes widened and he turned back, while Yibo was finally able to get out of my grip, his face was red and his eyes were wide.

"YOU!" he looked at me flustered while I just laughed, he looked so cute right now.

"Come on, it's the not the first time he has seen us like that." I spoke, which was true Haoxuan knew about my relationship with Yibo from the start, he was the first one to even notice that I was madly in love with Yibo before either of us ever confessed.

Yibo just slapped my chest and took some deep breathes, "you are shameless."

"What can I do you bring that side out of me." I spoke. Yibo huffed and gave me one last glare before he walked out, and I couldn't help but laugh.
