David grabbed the bottle off Britney's hand and marched to find Juliet's mum with Britney following him silently. She knew not to say anything when he was angry.
He spotted Alice as soon as he stepped outside. She was talking to Anna near the car.
"David dear, what is it?" Anna asked concerned as she spotted him.
"Alice what is this? Why does Juliet have this?" He ignored Anna as he demanded Alice.
She looked uneasy as David stared at her, waiting for an answer.
"Juliet went into depression after her dad died. She blamed his death on her-"
"Wait, but he had cancer, why would she blame herself then?"
"She knew. She promised that she would make sure that he would die in no pain and that he would be at home. But unfortunately he died in the hospital in pain. To her, not only did she break one promise, but she broke two. And you being one of her best friends should know how big the word promise means to her. She started to take them again recently- probably this whole arranged thing."
"Probably this whole arranged thing." She wanted to tell him the actual reason but I couldn't. No one knew besides herself and Henry. She couldn't tell anyone why Juliet was actually taking them.
She stood there as he took in what she said. His face softened as he looked up from the bottle of pills.
"Does she ever overdose herself?"
"No. No way, she only takes one when she goes to sleep. Then if she doesn't have any bad dreams for two weeks she stops and if they come back again then she takes them again for two weeks. If she ever has bad dreams when she is still taking the pills during those two weeks, she takes two every night for a week and then one every night for the remaining week. If it still doesn't stop then she goes back to her therapist and he gives her a special pill that only he has access to."
"Okay, well I better go and give this back."
"Wait, David honey, give it to the driver, he is taking William back there anyways." Anna offered. He gave them a small smile before he went off.
"Why was he so freaked out that she was taking pills?" she asked Anna.
"His sister committed suicide with those very same pills. She started to take them when she saw her friend get murdered right in front of her. She was on them for a while, but I guess her therapist wasn't helping. She in fact made her worse. She was telling her stuff, like how the same thing was gonna happen to her if she didn't listen to her. She made her do some things that no one would wish to do. She was told to cut off her finger when she went home; luckily her mum caught her before she did some real damage. The day she died she left a note saying what the therapist did to her. When David found her she was just barely breathing, when they got to hospital she said she didn't want anyone to see her and to the doctors that were her last words. They didn't even get to see her when they buried her; she was already in the coffin."
He stared at her in shock.
"That really happened?"
"I wouldn't make that up, that's sick" she snapped. Alice ook a step back.
"I'm sorry." she whispered. "I should get back, umm, I'm gonna go back to the hospital. Umm, bye." Before Anna could say anything Alice climbed into the taxi that was waiting there for fifteen minutes.
"Sorry about that." Alice apologized to the driver.
"No problem miss, so where to?" He kindly smiled at her. He had those cute little dimples, although he was someone who looked like they were in their forties.
As he started driving, they locked eyes in the mirror. He gave her another small warm smile, "So you are going to see your husband or something?"
She cleared my throat as she replied, "No, my husband died couple years back, I'm going to go and see my son who is very poorly." He gave her another small smile.
"I am not gonna say all that 'I'm sorry for your loss' stuff', because I'm, pretty sure you heard all of that before." He said. "But your husband was a lucky man to have such a beautiful woman at his side to call his wife. He must have been the proudest, luckiest and happiest man on earth with you by his side. " he continued.
She blushed at is little comment. No one really told her that in a long time, except Juliet and Henry. "Thanks. So what about you?" He gave out a little laugh as he responded with,"Well, my wife, well ex-wife, and I didn't really work out that well; she was in love with another guy all throughout our marriage that only lasted about six years. We have a daughter, named Katelyn, a true beauty she is. My wife now lives with her one true love that was waiting for her all that time. And I have had relationships but the girls always wanted something more. I don't really have much money or anything and they wanted that."
"Oh well, that's a shame, you seem like a really nice guy..." She felt bad for not knowing his name. He gave me a reassuring smile and stuck his hand out to her after he stopped at a red light.
"The name's Charlie. Charlie Brown."
"Nice to meet you Charlie, My name is Alice."
"A beautiful name, for a beautiful lady." She laughed at him as he slowly parked the car.
"I guess you have to go now." He said a bit sad.
"Yeah I guess I do."
"Hey, wait. Do you think we can hang out some time as friends?" he asked nervously.
"I'm sorry Charlie, but I haven't got any time for that. My son is really poorly right now and I just don't have time."
"Well what if I come, during my breaks, to the hospital the days you're here and we can grab a coffee or something?"
"No, I can't do that. It's your break, you don't have to spend your time-"
"Don't finish that off. I would love to spend some time with you; I wanna get to know my new friend a little better. So what do you say?" he asked with a wide grin on his face.
"I don't see the harm in that" He gave her his number and told her that he will see her tomorrow.
She got out the car and went to see Henry with a small smile on her face. Alice's phone rang and she saw it was Anna.
"Hello."
"Hello. Alice I am so sorry I snapped at you before. It's just that David's sister was like our daughter, and it was hard saying that to someone."
"Anna, honestly it's fine. I shouldn't have said it like that, it came out really wrong. So it's partially my fault." she reassured her.
"So I'm forgiven?" She pleaded. Alice laughed at her; she seemed like a teenage girl.
"I wasn't angry at you in the first place."
"How do you both do it?"
"How do who do what?" Alice asked confused.
"How do you and Juliet always forgive people? How do you guys stay happy most of the time?"
"Umm, I guess that we know that the person is a good person inside. But Juliet gives chances after chances to the ones she loves dearly. I have my certain extent where I go, but Juliet is an angel, she holds no grudges- well most of the times."
"Yeah, I just hope that William comes around, they go well together."
"So what was David's sisters' name?"
"Becca."
