A day at the pond

The coast was clear, there was no one around

The only sound present, the faintest squelch

She couldn't resist, and gulped them all down

With a satisfied gurgle and a guttural belch

In the morning the frog held a meeting

Gathering all those who lived by the pond

The toad, the snake, the dragonfly

And creatures from the woods far beyond

Ribbit! Ribbit! Ribbit!

Please let me know who did it!

A chuckle, a humph, an indignant snort

Such was their unhelpful retort

Then a rumble was heard

From the gut of the snake

I didn't do it! she whizzed

Her voice slightly slurred

With a whack! and a wham!

And a snick through her belly

The frog's eggs poured out

All covered in jelly
