A bumpy ride

The chugging engines of the tired, old craft

Had oil spurting out from the front and the aft

A gurgle released

Like a belch from a beast

The whole scene felt choreographed

The Chief started shouting his orders around

A violent boink!, and we fell towards ground

«Hold on to your hat!»

Ratatat! Ratatat!

«Embrace for impact! Everyone down!»

Next came a wham! and a deafening rumble

A whack! Then a whizz! I felt myself stumble

With a splat!, we had landed

«I think we are stranded!»

Someone next to me managed to mumble

The captain then slowly got up on his feet

«That landing was certainly far from discreet»

He glanced at his screen

Then raised his canteen

«Our journey to Earth is complete»
