Chapter 45: Information

Information

"Hi! I'm teacher Tyun, nice to meet you. What's your name?"

"Jaechan," the son of the man who hit me replied while fidgeting his fingers and seems paranoid.

I hold both of his hands and he looks at me in shock. I smile at him, "You're welcome in here, okay? You can still go to your old school and then sleep and eat in here or you can transfer in here—”

"I don't want to... sir."

"May I know why?"

"I'm... the oldest in here. I'm already in my 6th grade and most of the students here are still on 3rd grade," he replied.

I nods at him and glance at Beomgyu hyung that is reading a newspaper while drinking his hot coffee. He didn't even respond to the motion I did so I sighs.

"Then isn't it an honor? You'll be the first 6th grader of this children's home!" I made it sound exciting.

"This orphanage only supports up to 3rd grade of middle school, you don't know?" he asks me back which made me taken aback.

I glared at Beomgyu hyung and I heard him clears his throat as if he's stopping himself from laughing. I rolled my eyes and almost cursed him out.

"By the way, I'm really sorry for what my dad did to you," Jaechan apologizes in behalf of his father.

I smiles, "I'm fine," I assured. "Then what are we going to do about you?"

"Can I stay here, right?" he asks and I nods. "Then I'll stay here and then I'll help to do chores and—”

"Ops wait stop," I butts in. "Why? You're going to continue studying, you get that? I'll cover all your expenses in school just study well, okay?"

I saw how Jaechan's corner of eyes builds up some tears and it eventually falls. "I'll do my best, teacher!"

And from that day onwards, Jaechan became part of the house. He helps a lot during his free time and he studies well. As someone who took him in and let's says supporting him, I'm really proud.

"Woah, Jaechan's grade really raised after what happened," Kazi reacted while looking at Jaechan's report card.

I smiles and drink my bubble tea, "Right."

"But how about you and Beomgyu?" she asks. "Are there any changes?" she asks.

I shook my head and sighs, "He's avoiding me. He'll come home late and then gets up early. After his class in here, he'll go to Downtown and then comes back at late or sleep at Dr. Kai's place," I stated and sighs again.

"Aigooya," she reacted. "You really want to be his friend?"

"Yeah..."

"Then," she faces me and smiles— nope, is she grinning? "Then we should get his side."

"Huh?"

"Like favorite food and his favorite drink? Then if he's going to Downtown, go with him and help him as well, what do you think?" she suggested while raising her brows.

"That sounds good," I approve. "Okay!" I exclaimed and stands up. "I'll go to Dr. Kai."

"W-why there?"

I move closer to her and whisper, "He sells valuable information."

"Hey! You! You're going that far?" she amusingly reacted and I just laughs at her. "Wow, you can really do everything if you have all the money."

I started walking downhill; my other hand is inside my hoodie while the other is holding my drink. I suddenly pause form walking when I noticed the cherry blossoms trees along the way. The leaves are still green and while staring at those, memories started flashing again.

"Stay with me until the very last spring of the world. Your presence is what I need. You're the only one I need."

"Hyung, the next time you're going to see the real spring season, I hope I'm still beside you."

Who are you, huh? I've been hearing your voice for a while now but it's still vogue. Sighs, when will I regain all my memories?

And what's with spring that it's always appears on my head. Do I really love that season? I thought I love summer the most? Jeez.

"Hi Dr. Kai!" I greeted him as soon as I open the door of his clinic and saw him using his stethoscope to an adult patient. He briefly glances at me and I nod at him.

"But Dr., I don't really have the money for medications right now," his patient reasoned out, looking so wary.

"You don't need to worry," Dr. Kai assures him with his usual bright smile. "This gentleman right here will cover all your expenses," he added and pointed at me.

"Me? A-ah," I bow for respect and smiles. "Don't worry and just focus on being healthy," I cheered him and he almost cried at me.

After his consultation, Dr. Kai and I had the time inside his office. "Now that I disclose about your donation in the clinic, they will surely acknowledge you," Dr. Kai said and chuckles.

"You're right," I felt uneasy. "I should have stayed anonymous, right?"

"It's okay," Dr. Kai replied. "Your mom— no, your whole family has been helping the village since then. So, it's not really new to the people already," he added.

"Is that so? I see..."

"So, what brings you here?" he asks me as if he already knows why I'm at his clinic.

"Well... I'll just have some questions?"

"Some?"

"Not-that-some I guess?" I revised and he laughs then he nods at me. "What is Beomgyu hyung's favorite drink?"

"Iced Americano."

"Food?"

"Well, he's a picky eater and he don't really like seafoods at all and some vegetables especially tomatoes."

"What else?"

Our conversation continues and I jot down all of those. "If he's in Downtown, he helps the ahjumma's carry some of what they are selling and during weekends if he don't come home, he helps the ahjussi's sails or fish. Also, he has a grandmother."

"Oh," I nod while writing. "Ah right, busking. Why is he busking in Seoul?"

"Oh that? Well, he's doing a charity work. He donates to home for the ages as well and orphanages," he answered.

"Wow..." I reacted and put my notebook down. "Why? Why is he this kind? Like what kind of sin he had done that made him so kind like this?" I curiously ask.

Dr. Kai just shrugged his shoulders, "If you're curious enough, just ask him directly."

I sigh, "If only it's that easy, Doc. I can't even see him at the building," I answered.

Dr. Kai chuckles, "Really? How about you then? Do you still pass out?"

I shake my head, "Not anymore," I answered. "Thanks to my medications and also some of my memories are coming in as time goes by and as I stay here," I added.

"Oh that's good to hear," he expressed and smiles. "Just don't rush it, Taehyun. We still have a lot of time. Just take things slowly, okay?"

"Yes," I smiles.

"But can you handle it?"

"The what?"

"Your memories," he continued. "Can you handle it if they all come back to you? Aren't you gonna regret it?"

"I'll be fine... I should be," I replied. "I don't really know what happened to me back then and to be honest, I'm also afraid of what memory I have but still..." I pause for seconds. "Still I really want to know who I was."

"You're right... You really need to know who you are, Taehyun. No matter what happen."

I went back to the orphanage after I bought the coffee Beomgyu hyung likes. He's still teaching the kids so I just put it on his desk with a sticky note, "You're doing well, Teacher Beom!"

After that is my turn to teach the kids to do some afternoon exercise and the day ended. I saw Beomgyu hyung walking at the hallway but he's not holding any coffee. I went to the office and smiles when the cup isn't already in there.

But Mr. Boo, one of the faculty staffs is drinking one. "Mr. Boo!" I called him and he stops. "W-where did you got that coffee?"

"Ah this, Mr. Choi hand me this," he smiles and walks from me.

Wow! Just wow! I am so annoyed just now!

I started walking upstairs and open the door of our room. "Hyung!" I called him and I saw him taking off his sleeves that made me stop.

"Why?"

"The thing is..."

What's that? One, two, three, four—six!? Oh, is that a body of someone who doesn't eat vegetables? Oh my gosh!

"What thing?"

Oh snap!

"Right," I look at his eyes and he's blankly staring at me. "Why didn't you drink that coffee?"

"What coffee?"

"That c-coffee that I brought you," I replied in hesitant. "Hey, I know that you hate me— that your ex reminds me of him but I'm a different person. I'm Kang Taehyun— the Kang Taehyun who wants to be your friend. That is why... at least take my gesture," I complaints and looks down while biting my lowerlip.

"This?"

I lift my head and saw the cup of coffee that is on his table and the sticky note that's already placed on the desk. "O-oh... you drank it..."

He started walking closer to me and I keep on gulping. "W-why? Why are you—" I couldn't find the right words because he's really staring deep in my soul.

I started extended my hand to keep distance between us and I even felt my palms against his hard stomach and my back on the cold wall. "Y-you're too close?"

"You really want me to be your friend?" he asks while looking down at my eyes because he's taller than me.

"Y-yes..."

"Then brace yourself to win me, Taehyun. I'm not the friendly type, you know?"
