eleven years later
It was hot as usual in the nether, a wither skeleton was approaching a man in a blue shirt and black pants. "My lord, I found him" the skeleton said proudly.
"Good." The man said in a deep warm voice. He was looking at a portal of some sort. "Its time my son, I will see you once again." He smiled as a father would when seeing there newborn child for the first time.
Meanwhile.
Bang bang bang! The door shook as a testificate in purple robes knocked on the door. "Up, get up!" He yelled in a silky smooth voice. "Come on your gonna be late!"
A boy around the age of 16 groaned slightly. "Do I have to?" He said loudly in an irritated tone as he started to sit up straight.
"Sadly you do." The priest replied in a sympathetic tone. "Its not my fault you know, I'm just doing my job."
The boy sighed. "I know, sorry I snapped." He said guiltily as he got to his feet and went to his wardrobe and pulled a brown set of robes over his head.
"Its fine Narik, I understand your anger." The priest said in a tone that hinted he was smiling. "Oh! Don't forget to put on your brown robe!"
Narik opened the door as the priest finished his sentence. "A little late there Troy." He said smiling. "I'm already five steps ahead of you."
Troy laughed as the two friends left Narik's house and started towards a dessert temple a few meters away from the village. Troy was the only friend Narik had as the other villagers had taken to calling him monster or freak. The bad part was that Narik looked the part.
Narik was the same height as the villagers, but that wasn't what made him look like a monster. His entire body was split in half by skin color. On one side he was normal except for the white eye on that side. And on the other was like an enderman with a purple eye. He also had two shriveled wings on his back that he liked to tuck away under his blue shirt to hide them. His hair was a dark brown and tied up in a pony tail.
The two friends walked and joked the entire way to the temple. They also talked about crops and an occasional comment on the weather.
"How can you stand this heat?" Troy asked wiping sweat from his forehead. "Its gotta be at least 100 degrees out." Troy's voice definitely showed signs of a whimper.
"Really?" He asked raising an eyebrow. "I honestly don't feel anything." He said as he put his hands behind his head. "I guess its because I'm from the nether." He said sarcastically.
"Oh, right." Troy said shutting his eyes in embarrassment.
"Don't tell me you forgot!" Narik said in a loud whine. "We've known each other for how long?" He asked worried about his friend.
Troy ducked his head and adopted an apologetic look onto his face. "Sorry Narik, I'm just a little slow this morning."
Narik smiled and let out a chuckle. "Your just fine troy, honestly I almost forgot about myself a couple times."
Troy raised his eyebrows in surprise and said nothing. The fact that the son of Herobrine almost forgetting who he was had shocked him quite a bit. But he didn't wanna say anything he'd regret and just looked at the temple ahead of them.
The temple was at least 20 meters tall in the shape of a pyramid with two rectangular entrances on either side.
As they approached the temple try sighed sadly. "Well here we are." He had a sad look on his face. "I'm sorry I can't go in with you, so good luck." At this goodbye troy turned back and headed towards the village in which they lived in.
Narik watched his only friend walk away with watery eyes. After what felt like 5 hours he finally went inside with a sigh.
The inside of the temple was cool and damp. Villagers lined the sides and back of the temple. And in the center of the temple, basking in the noontime light was the head priest accompanied by a librarian with light blond hair and blue eyes. The head priest was there to give Narik his test while the librarian documented it as a historical occasion.
"Narik Borei Brine." The priest said pompously and with loath in his voice. "You are here to receive your test, this test will decide if you stay and become one of us or leave as one of the lost."
Narik closed his eyes and took a deep breath. "I'm ready for my test." As clearly as he could being as nervous as he was.
The priest looked at Narik with scorn in his eyes. "We shall see." The villagers around them started chanting a mixture of a long forgotten language and present day English. The librarian handed a piece of paper to the head priest.
Narik glanced at the librarian then back to the head priest. He has had a crush on this particular librarian for 6 years now. Always entranced by her deep blue eyes and dandelion yellow hair wishing he could cradle her ruby red lips in his own. It was a dirty pleasure of his to think of that and by looking at the looks she gave him in secret she did the same thing. But he had more important things to do than daydream of how it would feel like to kiss her.
The priest read the piece of paper then looked at Narik with a demonic smile. "There have been reports of strange people attacking the southern villages of the eastern province. Your task is to see investigate and capture these people, but be warned that they have been known to use withers." The chanting ended with a long and low note to finalize his test and the priest turns to the librarian who had been taking notes and whispers something to her.
"What?" She yells in shock and her eyes widen in terror. "Oh notch! oh notch!"
This reaction gave Narik a hint of what he had been dreading since the word wither was said. The priest turned to face Narik again. "And as customary of our tradition, a librarian will join you for your test and you must protect them as well as accomplish the task set for your test." His smile suddenly grows more demonic as he prepares to say the name of the unfortunate soul next to him. "The librarian who will join you is Abigale storm!"
Narik goes into a trance as he is given a stone sword and shield with a bow and two quivers of arrows to use in his test while saying her name repeatedly in his head. After receiving his test weapons he walks calmly and dazedly out of the temple with a very frightened Abigale next to him. Her name is Abigale.
