Dr. Scarlet admired her time machine. It was ready.

She stepped inside the glass dome and hit the switch.

One thought helped her endure the agony that followed, 'Don't forget why you're doing this.'

As the clock struck twelve, a blinding light engulfed the workshop, shutting down all machines.

"Doctor!" Lilian burst through the door, alarmed by the noise.

Her mentor was nowhere in sight. Instead, a little girl came out of the odd glass dome Scarlet had been working on for the past few weeks.

"Who are you?" Lilian asked.

The girl tilted her head and frowned.

"I don't remember."
