‏ *آيَةُ الْمُنَافِقِ ثَلاَثٌ إِذَا حَدَّثَ كَذَبَ، وَإِذَا وَعَدَ أَخْلَفَ، وَإِذَا اؤْتُمِنَ خَانَ ‏"*

Narrated Abu Huraira:

*The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "The signs of a hypocrite are three:*

1⃣. *Whenever he speaks, he tells a lie.*

2⃣. *Whenever he promises, he always breaks it (his promise ).*

3⃣. *If you trust him, he proves to be dishonest. (If you keep something as a trust with him, he will not return it.)"*

*كَيْفَ تَكْفُرُونَ بِٱللَّهِ وَكُنتُمْ أَمْوَٰتًا فَأَحْيَٰكُمْۖ ثُمَّ يُمِيتُكُمْ ثُمَّ يُحْيِيكُمْ ثُمَّ إِلَيْهِ تُرْجَعُونَ*

_How can you disbelieve in Allah when you were lifeless and He brought you to life; then He will cause you to die, then He will bring you [back] to life, and then to Him you will be returned._

💎 *Sounds, homes and Islam*

You may have seen the reconstructed models of the Prophet Muhammad’s homes, peace and blessings be upon him.

You can’t help but ponder over how ill-resourced, unfurnished, and tiny they were. What’s even more amazing is that they were *the happiest homes* in human history.

One of the secrets?

Allah 'azza wa jall said, instructing the wives of the Prophet:

وَاذْكُرْنَ مَا يُتْلَى فِي بُيُوتِكُنَّ مِنْ آيَاتِ اللَّهِ وَالْحِكْمَةِ

“ _And keep to mind what is recited in your houses of the verses of Allah and wisdom_..”(Qur’an, 33:34)

They were homes of Qur’anic recitation, knowledge, worship, Du’aa and remembrance, hence husband and wife were at peace, and the home scene was bliss despite the physical hardships.

Our homes today are far larger and significantly better resourced. Nevertheless, many of us complain of constant familial instability, a toxic environment, perpetual stress, sleepless nights, and sheer suffocation.

In light of the ayah above, one may ask him/herself:

_“What sounds resonate most from my home?_

Qur’an and useful educational material, or otherwise?”

“Could the dark feeling to my household be because I’m yet to sit regularly with my husband/wife/children /parents for a group study around the Qur’an, or its likes?”

“What sins is my house home to?"

"What sins is my home exporting to the world? What’s my social media, profile pics and statuses like nowadays?”

For the most part, it really isn’t sophisticated.

Evict certain unwanted habits, invite others in their place, and the happiness of iman (faith) won't be late.
