Kaito's point of view.

❛ I need to exist and find love however for that I need to be praised but I'm all alone. ❜ Says the survivor.

But for now just call me a runner; the one slender stem that grows horizontally along the ground. A stolon, who recently blew out his seventeenth candle. Is disowned or neglected by mankind or such.

You can look into the reflection of my glasses; my surroundings are a lonely place. Where I'm present in an unknown land, no one will ever hear my shouts.

I'm fostered by a machine; my flying saucer is Mi Casa, as caring as a mom.

"Get back on the UFO!" Well irritating too, she might sound similar to my father but there's a difference, it's a feminine tone.

Thus, I gave her my mother's status.

No doubts if she's the most deserving candidate when no one else is here to volunteer, not even my biological mother.

My father said that it's better to erase her from my life, clearly the two aren't together.

Now pointing at my father, did I mention that he is also not here with me, well that makes me a loner. But I'm more than just that. Just the day before my seventeenth birthday, my father's last voice note was sent. And there's a reason to be last.

I think you should hear that, let me play it for you. He sounded just a little breathless in the beginning, "K-kai-ahh, it's dad. I-i I."

He inhaled heavily, as if at a shortage of oxygen in the atmosphere, noise of water gushing could be heard in the background.

After that he could just say a short 'I love you' and when he attempted to take my name again his words were muffled.

"Kim Kaito, Get back into the UFO in ten seconds. Counting one." Mi interrupted and I was back in my shoes, restricted.

"Two." She voiced, right after I took a deep breath. Got to enter her before she lifts me up from the ground to place me inside her.

She is huge for a five feet two inch tall boy like me, around 500 ft height with the four triangular faces on a polygonal base, just the way she floats in the air is magical but I'm more into sci-fi. I know how she works.

Mi opened, the base was the entrance as a ray which held the gravitational force to pull me up, land on me.

I got elevated, my knees bent and my chest was facing the entrance.

Soon I crossed the entrance and gravity went back to normal, as I landed back on my foot. The lights were switched off, just a dim one brimming in the corner.

Not caring much, I followed my instinct to reach the sofa on the right side. It was a few step journey which had me relieved.

Nothing better than a soft cushion, or maybe a hug will sound more angelic.

Anyways it's better because I'm not having anything better even if they do exist. Now talking about existence, I haven't found life other than me in like ten years or more.

Not even an insect.

Look I'm in a barren land, still that doesn't explain why there's not a single creature crawling around me. Mi says she doesn't know the reason, it's highly suspicious.

I have lived here for ten years in my senses and not even a spider.

I hope to grow independent, because Mi doesn't let me run here and there. I have to come back inside by sunset like I did just now. Basically, Mi knows nothing but she neither lets me discover.

She says I'm naive and tiny, surely she is because she compared my human brain to her computer, so thoughtful of her.

"Kai, come to face two and have your dinner." Her voice makes me feel more procrastinating.

"Gosh, Mi. I'm not hungry for food, I need information. Is there any note from dad, today?" I expressed, and most of the time she doesn't feel me.

She can yet she doesn't and I don't blame her for that, it's her choice. I'm actually grateful to her more than anything.

"There's a technical issue, I'm working on it and as I said before there's another note but that isn't a voice note." Said Mi with the explanation of my words: the last note.

I'm sure father isn't going to be okay after the note, the bubbling sound of water was a clear indication of the worst.

And we can bury this part.

"Kai. Food will get cold." Her voice is so soft but I always feel harsh when she commands. I don't want to eat.

"I'm going to take a nap, I'm tired."

She heard me, maybe I made her sockets spark and flared up. Still carelessly I went to the washroom to brush as I heard her praising me for this.

"Such a good boy, but there's nothing the germs will feed on." There comes the fact, miss mother-sister combo let me be!

A growl from my side told her to quit it and I drifted towards my bedroom right after completing my night routine.

"Would you like to hear crickets, Kai?" And that's my lullaby. Miss Casa can't sing.

I gave her no replies, flaten on the bed as my eyes closed. A mild, moderately painful dull headache gave me dissatisfaction. But still I kept pretending to be relaxed.

A tight headband yet the pain was not only there but also my neck and shoulders felt sore and tender. At least the bed is soft.

If I could just rest then I would probably feel fresh when I woke up tomorrow.

Narrator's point of view.

Night sky was full of stars, the wind so calm on the outside of the flying saucer with the moonlight glow and the serene silence.

But for some it might get creepy.

Just like Kaito explained, no sound and no creatures around. He wasn't meant to end here, however he was trapped.

And so was the moon, facing the planet as he was bound to circle around it, helpless.

But everything has a high point of tolerance and maybe it was the time.

Red hue overpowered the moonlight, a different kind of gas released into the atmosphere from the sandy land.

Within just an hour it covered the upper atmosphere and the moon changed its colour. Crimson ink all around as if the writer was bleeding as he wrote about the landscape which the painter painted when he couldn't see other colours, just red.

And if you are imagining it to be aesthetic then watch the land bleed after. It wasn't just a colour after all.

Nor was it a daily thing.

This was a holy night for the believer, the valentine for the lover. Still you can't say it was for sanity, probably the lovers will be left in a pool of pity and believers aren't meant to be out of the pit of faith.

However, the hate building inside Kaito for Mi Casa is the actual fate of Mulittang.

Kaito will never call this place land of water that will not make sense, even after there the red liquid flooded as the flying saucer was drowning into it.

"Kaito!" Mi disturbed his sleep for some validation. "I believe in survival, I believe in life. We will live. We are alive."

Kaito woke up as he heard the a.i chant non stop. "Heyyy... I was sleeping!" His shout left no effect as the chat was ongoing, making the boy angrier.

"Mi! Let me sleep!!"

Kaito had to get up when Mi didn't stop her acts, everything was normal inside which made him more irritated. What are you up to, I'm losing my sanity now!

"Shut the fuck up! What are you gaining from repeating that shit!" And he finally exploded, fist tightly till his veins popped out. Teeth pressed together, their force could tear any muscle but he had the fight with a metal machine, they'll be helpless.

"I believe in survival, I believe in life. We will live. We are alive." This wasn't having any effect inside but the red liquid started to flush back into their pit with each chant.

And by the time Mi stopped there was nothing but the same serene, yet so creepy peaceful silence outside.

"Your father. He needs you."
