To be not only a leader of a newly formed coven but a mate and Original vampire all at the same time was the biggest challenge that I had taken on in my lifetime. Now, it was time to kick back and relax.

Yeah, not really.

Rebekah and Caroline had gotten it into themselves to plan a party together. Those two will be the death of me, I swear to god. I get no alone time around here. Actually, this could be good. The last dance was filled with stupid Sage and then we met Laurel. Not much of a plain social convention.

Now, it was time to introduce the coven to the vampire world. Us heretic vampires would not find ourselves siding with nature, as nature itself had already turned her back on us. No, we would be their allies, their friends. If they had a witch problem, why not just call some witches to deal with them? It would make things so much easier.

"You look stunning, angel," Damon swoops me up, placing kisses all over my face. I giggle relentlessly as he eases up, wrapping his arm around my waist. "That dress is actually insane. Where did you get it?"

"Mar made it," I state proudly.

"She made it? Oh my god, that's actually crazy. You have got to be lying to me right now, angel, because that thing is made for a goddess," I smile, "Which you are, of course. You are my goddess and I am going to treat you to a dance tonight."

"Such a flirt, Mr. Salvatore," I tease. Damon kisses my cheek before opening the door, allowing me to be led out to where the leaders of each part of the family would be making their speeches to the people we had invited.

Things would finally be put back in order. Our lives would be easier for a little bit. Yes, the challenges of a coven would be on my shoulder, but there would be no war. We were at peace, our allies finding it in their hearts to give us this one night of peace after the war that we had fought in. First the Gilbert girl, then father, then mother and her allies. We had no time to relax, but that was going to change.

On this night, we would reign in our inner monsters and allow ourselves to feel the warm comfort of patience and tranquility.

Elijah and Rebekah stood on the sidelines for this one, allowing themselves to have the freedom that came with being a follower and not a leader. I knew for a fact that Elijah had been a leader for too long and needed a break from all of the hard decisions. They always weighed on him. In his own way, he was quite sensitive.

With Nik and Caroline as the head of the Sun and Moon pack.

With Laurel and Finn as the head of the vampires.

Last of all, Damon, Stefan, and I as the heads of the Sunshone Coven.

Our mates at our sides, Nik clinked his glass, calling attention to the podium that we all stood on.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, here tonight lies a great victory for all in the supernatural community," Nik starts with. "Our family has never been stronger, with the meeting of most of our mates and the defeat of the Original Witch. United we stand, and together we shall rise above any threat that comes our way. Whether you wish to become our trusted allies and friends has nothing to do with what I am about to announce, but if you wish for more information on the topic, you can find me after we are all done speaking."

A few whispers started to make their way through the ballroom, many of the vampires here having no clue what Nik could be talking about. Many of them knew about the hybrids, but they had no clue about the heretics and the coven. In fact, many of the people around me I could not recognize.

"Alas, I have kept some information from you all. To that, I am sorry. For now, I would like to make the humble announcement of the formation of the Sun and Moon Pack. This pack is not specifically for hybrids and I will accept any werewolves and their families into the pack as well. Any untriggered wolves are welcome to join in as well, just make sure that you do not harm any of our members. The life of my pack is one of luxury, as you can clearly see, the ballroom that you are standing in is one of the many rooms that their pack house has to offer," Some of the guests in the room gasped. "I, Niklaus Mikaelson, claim the Sun and Moon Pack for my own, with my mate, Caroline Forbes, being the Luna and I being the Alpha."

Many werewolves and vampires alike knew of the curse of the sun and moon, and almost nobody even knew that the curse was in fact fake, created by Nik to get people to bring him the doppelganger in order to fix his little hybrid curse problem.

"Oh, yes, I forgot to add!" Nit remembers, "The curse of the sun and moon is fake. Sorry about that. If anyone wants a daylight bracelet, you can ask my baby sister." Ah, screw you, Niklaus. "Werewolves, if there are any in the room, your little problem can only be fixed through immortality. To that, I am very sorry."

The whispers that plagued the hall had now turned to open cries of protest and denial. Nik just smirked at all of them before walking back to Caroline, kissing her sweetly.

Finn took this as a chance to introduce himself to the room, "Crowd, if you would pipe down, that would be most appreciated. Your new vampire leader is speaking," the crowd turned to him before doing what he asked off. "Yes, my little brother can be sneaky with that curse thing. I would have stopped him, but I was in a coffin. Anyways, what is in the past is in the past, all water under the bridge at this point. I am Finn Mikaelson, eldest child of the Original Witch and the Original hunter, former warlock and mate to the most beautiful Laurel Embers."

"Don't call me out like that, Finn," Laurel whines.

"Of course," he smiles at his mate before turning to the crowd. "Our group of vampires has been living without order for much too long. Chaos and bloodshed may be in our nature, but we need not mercilessly kill everything in our path. I know that we can be better than that. Even immortals can change. I have seen it in the pack and in our midst. If anyone has a problem with one another, you bring it to Laurel and I and we will help fix it the best that we can. Immortality may come with heightened emotions, but we do not need to act like hormonal teenagers, even if some of us immortally are."

Laurel walks up to the podium, right next to Finn. "We are all in this together. We are the same species, you and I. Finn may be an Original, but he has only been awake for about 150 years. He is more like you than you would realize. All of the Originals have seen the beauty and the ugliness of this world and have still come out of it on the top. Our group is mainly casual, less order and much less hierarchy than in a pack. We aren't wolves."

"Yes, Laurel, I do know this," Nik snarks.

"Hush, big bad wolf," she retorts.

Most of the crowd laugh at the exchange and turn to my mates and I, the people that they did not know. None of them, barring our family, knew what I was doing up here. I looked like an ordinary original, if you could call any of us ordinary.

Taking in a deep breath, I make my way to the podium, allowing my brother and his mate to walk next to Nik and Caroline.

My nerves were on fire. A deep, burning red fire that told me to run. Who would have known that the Original Heretic was afraid of speaking to crowds of vampires?

"I am guessing that nobody in the crowd really knows what I am doing up here," most of them shook their heads, "Okay then. My name is Astrid Mikaelson. My mates, Damon and Stefan, will be joining me in a project that I have been working towards almost my entire immortal life. A place for people like me who have nowhere else to go."

The entirety of the crowd did not know what I was hinting at. "Yeah, I do have a major confession to make up here. Before I was a vampire, I was a witch. That wouldn't be such a big deal, but the problem with me was that I just didn't have any magic of my own. I took magic from others. A siphoner was what they called me, as well as an abomination. While not choosing this life for myself, immortality has given me even more control of the magic that I take. I am known as a heretic vampire as well as an original vampire. Just like Nik, I am a hybrid. My project, a Coven for siphoners and heretics."

Vampires and other creatures alike let out gasps at the knowledge that one of the Originals was a siphoner. I hoped that no witches were spying on us in the crowd. That would make for an awkward conversation. They hated me and everything that I was, the parts of me that I had no choice in.

"The Sunshone Coven already has members. The heretics that the Gemini coven rejected and then threw in a prison world and one of their own twin children that they also threw in a prison world. They are under my leadership and protection. One of them is also my brother's mate, so if you even try to harass him, you'll have Kol to deal with," I warned, Kol giving the entire group of people a good stare before kissing Kai on the cheek. They really are such a cute murder-happy couple.

"Since this is a ball, kick on the music, have a few drinks, and most importantly, enjoy the monstrous side."
